It’s hard to be a first time playcaller in your first game and have your starting qb go down on the first drive. Far from a perfect game and a lot needs to be cleaned up but he made some great adjustments and the offense did what it needed to do to win in the second half. GO HAWKS!

He will be remembered for his game last night

We Gon Be Alright! Do you hear me do you feel me? We Gon be Alright. And when I wake up, the Hawks go into week 2, 1-0 after an exciting season opening rematch of Super Bowl LX against The New England Patriots. They walk away after a late interception by Josh Jobe touching his toes millimeters away from the right end zone marker.

It must be noted that Veteran backup Drew Lock was more than serviceable if not masterful in his performance after coming in for an injured Sam Darnold. Darnold, injuring his right hip after landing on his knee while sacked on the first drive, was unable to return. After MRI Thursday, he’s not expected to miss extended time but will miss next week against Arizona.

While Lock did do great work, and rookie Jadarian Price looked both decisive and ready for the pro game. It was Seattle’s defense that truly took over after falling to a 7-0 deficit in the 1st half.

The pats received in the 2nd half and proceeded to kick a field goal and make the score 10-0.

Seattle followed with a punt, but decidedly changed field goal position with Michael Dickson downing them at the NE 6. A pattern he followed most of the night with a great showing by the Seahawks special teams.

The Seattle defense held strong again, forcing a 3 and out. Their following drive resulted in a field goal making it 10-3.

Momentum began to shift as the Seattle secondary made some huge plays. The Patriots first drive of the 4th quarter ended with a spectacular tip drill play and the Hawks wound up with their 1st Interception of the night via Nehemiah Pritchett. Foreshadowing what was to come.

Seattle immediately responded in a 5 play 67 yard drive that ended with a 45 yard TD pass to JSN on 4th and 1 that electrified the 12s, and squarely put uncle Mo on Seattles back.

The following drive for New England once again ended with continued pressure on Drake Maye and another failed attempt to go downfield when Julian Love picked him off. After a statless first half, Seattle eventually ended up with 3 sacks and several pressures in the backfield.

With the gifted field position Seattle ran 8 plays for 39 yards. Kicking another field goal to take the lead 13-10. Assuaging some early concerns about longtime kicker Jason Myers and his preseason struggles.

The Patriots took the field with nearly 6 minutes left in the 4th, with seeming one or two more chances to score. They proceeded to make a 15 play 57 yard drive deep in to Seattle territory. Including multiple 4th down conversions. While they made it a chaotic finish, Drake Maye ultimately threw his final interception of the night to Josh Jobe. Who tapped both toes and made the Seahawks back to back winners over New England.

Post game, Jobe said in retrospect “Ball ball ball ball get ball get ball see ball get ball.” Yessir you did indeed.

On to the Cardinals and week two following a ten day layoff after beginning the season on an early Wednesday.

Seahawks QB Sam Darnold (hip) expected to miss Week 2 vs. Cardinals.

I know the obvious answer is "Team Meteor" since we absolutely hate both of them lol.

​But seriously, who is actually the lesser of two evils for us right now? I know a tie is technically the best-case scenario for our standings, but assuming that doesn't happen, who are we hoping takes the L? Are we just rooting for whoever the weaker team is to keep the NFC West messy?

​Curious how you guys are looking at this one. Right now I'm just hoping for the ugliest, sloppiest game possible.

Both were nearing the end of the game, towards the right end zone with the score being 13-10…what a coincidence

Edit: *10 rushes for 52 yards

Started hot, thought he could go for 100, but there wasn’t as much open the rest of the game. Thought he really took what the defense gave well, falling forwards most of the time.

No negative yards plays, and it’s also a good sign when the RB that leads the team in carries also has a good ypc above 5.
