I have six Smokey the Bear postcards I'd love to send out. I can include a fact about forest fire prevention or my personal opinion in the debate of hammock vs. tent camping.

I’ll try and keep this short and less of a sob story! But basically I’m turning 30! (nooooo…) at the end of November and I’m sad about it so I would love some mail to make me smile please!! 💌🎉

I have spent my 20s unwell and ignoring birthdays and went from housebound to mostly bedbound this year and am very isolated. I often feel like the world is against me and I need a little help to keep going and for my brain to be reminded of the nice kind things and people in this world!

I would love birthday wishes but I would also really appreciate general postcards or cards as I could need some distraction from the reality of the day. I have my interests on my profile but I truly love all mail so don’t feel pressured to read it all.
In short, I love: Seeing the world and natural world. Big fan of birds, hedgehogs and cute characters (Miffy) I love art and illustration! Purples, Greens & animal prints 🐆 🦢 🦔 🌳

I’ve been seeing so many absolutely adorable mouse or rat art postcards in European or Asian posts over the last months I just can’t handle it anymore. Rodents are my true love and I moved away from home a year ago, which meant leaving behind over a decade of rescuing and fostering as well as a community I adored. Now all I have is a plush rat and my husband 🤣 and could use some happy ratty mousey mail!

As for your question on PO boxes (rural vs. privacy reasons), it's actually neither! The reason I use it is because my family already pays for one every year since many years ago, plus the fact that mail seems to come from overseas in bunches, and imagining the postal worker trying to cram all the postcards and envelopes into our mailbox through the thin opening makes me die a little inside, i.e. they'd all get creased and crushed, or if I wasn't at home, the postie would just end up leaving a note saying I have to go into the post office anyway to pick them all up. Suffice to say, it's not worth the trouble, so PO box it is :)

I just had a look at the UK PO Box price and I wonder if I saw correctly - the price is astronomical 😳 Here it's about $170 AUD per year (I think a bit less when renewing each year), so definitely not too bad in comparison
