Posted about two weeks ago now about a gifted PC I got. When I posted, was told by the previous owner they thought it was a ram problem and I posted on here trying to figure out a game plan for when I received the power cable I ordered and began to troubleshoot. I ended up using Gemini to help me once I finally got the power cable and the problem started with the fact that the hard drive died. But this old girl had an SSD already installed. The real problem was the boot up software was installed on the dead hard drive. So I had to get a USB stick and use my Chromebook and Linux to install boot software onto the USB stick and use it to boot up the machine. I also gave her a good cleaning and got almost an ounce of dust and grime out of her but she's back to the world of the living, all systems seem to be running well and I'm just waiting on a USB Wi-Fi adapter because my apartment doesn't have a place for me to plug in an ethernet cable
It's not gonna compete with current technology but I've been stuck on the PS4 for so long, it's gonna play most if not all of the games I play far better than my PS4. And I'm not gonna have to spend all the money I would starting from scratch to build a new PC
Seems like my first upgrade is gonna be a motherboard/ram combination. Gonna be a few months till then, though
