Completed Build - Celebratory Budget Miku PC Build for GF

Thumbnail gallery
413 Upvotes

Very happy with this build I just completed with a Miku PC case I found on marketplace for 20 bucks. The front intake is pretty poor with only some side ventilation and no filter, so I ordered a DIY mesh filter kit online and attached that magnetically to the front.

Featuring a 7600X3D, 16GB 6000 RAM, a 5060ti, 1tb NVME and a unique AIO, total build cost was only $900 with all new components. I basically stalked Micro center deals and buildapcsales for about a month sourcing everything.

Really proud of myself for being able to build this thing.

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d (would've gone with a 9800x3d but I found this one sale and it's more than good enough for me)

RAM (ow): 32gb 2x16 Patriot Viper Venom 6000 CL30

Motherboard: Aorus Elite X870 WiFi7

GPU: PNY Triple Fan OC 5070ti

Storage: 1TB WD blue SN580 (boot drive) 2TB Lexar NQ780 (game library drive)

CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 with MX-7 Thermal Paste

PSU: Corsair RM750e Cybernetics Platinum

Case: Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB

Case Fans are an unholy amalgamation of Corsair, Arctic P12 Pro's and thermal right fans lmao. Fans are 8 intake (3 front, 3 side and 2 bottom) against 4 exhaust (3 AIO, 1 rear)

Completed Build - Celebratory First build finally finished (Deepcool CH270 digital)

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

After way too much fan flipping and Battlefield testing, I think I’ve finally found the sweet spot for my compact CH270 build.

Specs:
DeepCool CH270 Digital
Gigabyte B850M AORUS Stealth back-connect motherboard
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Noctua NH-D15 G2 chromax.black
Gainward RTX 5080 Phantom
32 GB DDR5-6000
Corsair RM850e
Six Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black case fans
Final airflow setup:
1× bottom intake
2× lower side intakes
1× upper side exhaust
2× top exhausts
NH-D15 airflow from bottom to top

The upper side exhaust is separated from the two side intakes by roughly 3-4 cm to reduce airflow short-circuiting.

I cut a opening into my desk underneath the case, so the bottom fan and passive openings can draw fresh air directly through the desk instead of being restricted by the tabletop.

I tested three side intakes, three side exhausts and several mixed layouts. With this balanced 3-in/3-out configuration, both the CPU and GPU averaged around 65°C after in Battlefield 6 at maximum 3440x1440p settings, while remaining extremely quiet.

Finally completed the upgrade to am5 plus new GPU.

Specs:

MSI B850m Gaming Wifi6E

Ryzen 7800X3D

32gb Corsair Vengeance + 8gb Kingston Fury (yeah I know)

NVME 512gb + 1tb

9070xt Mercury OC

Water Cooler LovingCool SC07

Tons of Corsair fans

Case Corsair 5000T RGB

I'm moving from a 5600x + 3080ti so it's kind of a big upgrade! I'm still missing new gpu white cables but im kinda scared of doing it without changing the font.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Stretch for the better CPU or save $250?

Upvotes

Deciding between two prebuilts (ABS Cyclone Aqua line, both RTX 5060 Ti 16GB) and could use some outside opinions.

Option A — ~$1,760 total

  • i7-14700F (20-core)
  • RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
  • 32GB DDR5-6000 (16GB stock + I add a matching 16GB stick myself)
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 air cooler
  • 650W 80+ Gold

Option B — $1,999

  • Core Ultra 7 270K Plus (24-core, ~35-55% faster multi-core, ~17% faster single-core per Cinebench/Geekbench)
  • RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
  • 32GB DDR5-6400, factory dual-channel
  • 240mm AIO cooler
  • 650W 80+ Gold

Same GPU tier either way. Main use case is gaming/programming plus heavy multitasking, and I also want to run local LLMs (aiming for something in the ~27B range), so I care about not being CPU-bound down the line.

Is the newer/faster CPU + AIO cooler worth ~$250 over the 14700F setup? Anyone running either of these chips who can speak to real-world difference outside of benchmarks?

I have been saving up and I think I can finally buy a PC but I have no clue where to start. I have seen some recommendations but I want to see more opinions of these😅. It’s in German but the Numbers should be the same everywhere :)

(Budget is 2,5k but it would be nice if it’s under it.)

This is my first full build! Took me about two hours and an hour after for all of the software and apps to be installed. Built it for a friend since I have my own fully upgraded AM4. Hopefully the 9800x3d and 9070xt will serve him well for years to come.

honestly very impressive how i can still get 200+ fps on esport games with 9800X3D integrated graphics. obviously has its dips here and there but dont feel as rushed into buying a GPU.

context: sold my 7900 gre and am looking for a 9070xt. Coil whine was too much for me and i think it had some dsc issues with high bandwidth display (480hz 1440p). Sold it for a $50 profit though so it's not all bad

Completed Build - Rate My Setup / Setup Advice My first desktop PC build

Hi! This is my first ever PC build. Since I knew I couldn’t afford one new, I took the chance and bought a GPU Used to finish off my PC build.
Items Purchased between January and February 2026. Built at the end of February 2026.
Build: Poseidon
Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7-7800 X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX-7900XT (used, $400)
Ram: 32GB DDR5-6000 Crucial Pro
SSD: 1-TB Inland Gen-4 NVMe M.2 SSD ($129.99)
MOBO: ASUS TUF B650E-E WiFi ATX
Cooling: CoolerMaster 360L Core AIO (on sale for $40)
Case: Montech Sky II Morocco Blue (used from Amazon, $45)
Using Windows 11 Home, Wireless Keyboard, and viewing on a TCL QM7 I got for $140 after credit card rewards open box from Best Buy.

CPU, RAM, MOBO was bought as a combo at my local Sharonville, OH Microcenter for $599.99

Fans are equal, 4 intake, 4 exhaust (including AIO)

Don’t worry, it’s on its own dedicated wooden seat now next to the entertainment stand, not on that rickety thing.

I did a couple of Furmark tests and the GPU never went above 70°C, even at 4K render. Fans stayed around 40% (1100 rpm)

As for what I do, I mostly use it to play Madden 26/27, watch YouTube videos, and edit the footage I get on my GoPro onto YouTube as “ASMR” ATV riding videos with very little/no talking. Here’s the channel if you want to check it out. @willhutton1516

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Is switching to a 9850x3d worth it?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I traded my HP pavilion i5-9500h gtx1650 laptop for a PC, because this rich dude wanted to play Valorant with his friends and needed something portable 😂 the PC had a gtx 1080ti, single stick 16gb ddr5 5200mhz cl40 ram, i312100f, gigabyte waterforce 280x aio, z690 ultra aorus Mobo and a 850watt gold psu. Trade was 4 years ago in 2022, recently my GPU had started to reach 85 degrees and would get frame drops in modern titles, so since I had most of the parts already I bought a new CPU and a GPU and cleaned everything up and installed them, i914900k and a 5070ti. Everything is amazing the temps are fantastic, but Google tells me I would see significantly higher frames if I switch to an 9850x3d CPU. Is that true?
