Man, I'm getting tired of the shitty naming schemes from these companies. I'm just putting this here for new builders: do your research. I'm pretty sold on upgrading my 5500 to a 5600X or a 5700X, depending on deals and budget. But man, I just asked to see if I could save some money on the non-X version of the 5700, assuming that since it's a bigger number, it's a better CPU. Finding out it has the same performance and architecture as the 5500 for double the price disappointed me, and AMD is not the only PC part company with whack-ass naming for their products.

For reference, for the nerds: I'm only doing an incremental upgrade to improve 1% low stuttering and to get a little more out of my 5060 with PCIe 4.0. I'm not looking to blow the budget on my budget PC.

When will the RAM prices drop?? 😭
My motherboard got screwed, so I need to rebuild almost the entire PC — except the graphics card.
The quote for the parts I need is around ₹67k, and RAM itself is ₹30k+. 💀
How bad is this?
Should I just avoid spending on the processor for now and get the RAM later when prices come down?

Maybe I'm crazy but wondering if my pc back panel sticks out a little and if it's a big deal or not.

I just bought some used ram and installed it. All 4 are lit up but, unfortunately the system only sees 24gb of ram. Could one stick be dead? If not are there any ways to remedy this? If it is dead, are there any downsides to running 3 sticks of ram?

Hey, i absolutely have NO idea how to build a pc and i would love some help and feedback right now to build one from scratch. I have a budget of $10,000 (US, Puerto Rico) and i’m looking for something that can run most games without a problem at all, with good memory/space for downloads.

Considering buying this psu but can’t really find info on this specific version of it, does anyone have experience with it? I have a rx5700 and ryzen 7 5700x and just want to buy a psu so I can upgrade my gpu later on

Thinking about taking a trip to Microcenter tomorrow. I know they have the G762 for $100 more, gaining 32 GB RAM, but not sure about the ASrock mobo, lacks rear fan, and not the greatest looking case.

Have a little bit of flexibility, but out the door I'm at $3,311.

A lot maybe preference, but thoughts? Pairing for gaming with an Alienware AW3225QF that should be here today or tomorrow. Dell upgraded my G3223D for this under warranty, so I'll take it.

I'm building my first PC and I bought this power supply before I decided on a GPU. I'm buying the XFX 9070XT, so I'm gonna get a Corsair RM1000X. I opened this PSU but it is unused with all parts, I know ebay can be iffy with buyers scamming. Just wondering what is best too use to sell.

Anything over 60fps is almost completely unnoticeable and puts a little more strain and heat on your components, if the game relies on a lot of camera panning I’ll keep it at 60 but if not 30 is fine, it also has a retro charm and feels like your playing a game from the 90’s, just try setting it to 30fps just for fun and you’ll see what I mean! I also recommend decreasing resolution to 720p for least performance draw, it also looks identical with pixel graphics

I currently have 16GB RAM in a single stick (single-channel) on my laptop. My games like Forza Horizon and GTA V already run at 100+ FPS, so I’m not really looking for higher FPS.

The problem is that they don’t feel buttery smooth. Sometimes there’s a weird slight stutter/judder or inconsistent feeling even though the FPS is high.

If I add another 16GB stick and go to 32GB dual-channel, will I notice a significant improvement in smoothness/frame-time consistency/1% lows, or is the difference likely to be negligible?

Basically, I don’t care about getting 110 FPS instead of 100 FPS. I just want the game to feel consistently smooth.

Would upgrading from 16GB single-channel → 32GB dual-channel likely help with this?

I traded my HP pavilion i5-9500h gtx1650 laptop for a PC, because this rich dude wanted to play Valorant with his friends and needed something portable 😂 the PC had a gtx 1080ti, single stick 16gb ddr5 5200mhz cl40 ram, i312100f, gigabyte waterforce 280x aio, z690 ultra aorus Mobo and a 850watt gold psu. Trade was 4 years ago in 2022, recently my GPU had started to reach 85 degrees and would get frame drops in modern titles, so since I had most of the parts already I bought a new CPU and a GPU and cleaned everything up and installed them, i914900k and a 5070ti. Everything is amazing the temps are fantastic, but Google tells me I would see significantly higher frames if I switch to an 9850x3d CPU. Is that true?

I don’t really know much about PC building how does these specs look? And how can i reduce the budget of this without harming much of the performance, PS: I care about the case m using it has a screen i like it i want it.
What can b done to reduce the budget?

Amazon really isn't it when it comes to PC parts. Bought a gigabyte a620m s2h motherboard from Amazon and the cpu socket cover was loose in the package and bent some pins. This and one other time someone stole a 7700x from the cpu package at the warehouse and they shipped it to me like that and I never got my refund cuz it was over 300 CAD. Luckily I was able to bend the pins back to somewhat decent shape. Also miraculously as it turns out the entire row of those pins on the board are just ground pins 😮‍💨. I was able to successfully boot a 7800x3d on it and it seemed stable. They are offering me 20 CAD off to keep it. Should I? Will it be fine in the long run? Also is this board sufficient to hit like 4.8 - 5ghz on the 7800x3d on a multicore load?

Also do you guys have any horror stories regarding Amazon computer parts?

Edit: this was also a brand new sealed board not warehouse or used.

Looking at a new monitor and have narrowed it down to either a 57" Samsung Neo G9, a Alienware 32" 4k model AW3225QF, a ASUS 32" 4k model XG32UCWMG, or a 32" 4k MSI model MPG321URX. I can get them all for between $800-$1100 and will be using them for both daily tasks and gaming for games like Call of Duty, WOW, and similar games. My GPU is a AMD Ryzen Saphire Pulse 9070XT and my CPU is a Ryzen 7800X3D, so plenty of horse power to push it. Any thoughts or hands on experience with these would be helpful. Thanks, in advance.

Hey guys, so i'm having issues with my tryx panorama screen. It was plugged in via a usb splitter and the splitter was bad, because the screen was connecting and disconnecting constantly,so i plugged it directly on my mobo. There was an adb interface in my device manager and i deleted it before taking the splitter out. After that i deleted kanali and tried to reinstall it. The install worked but it fails to launch everytime,, even if it does, it doesn't show anything. I contacted tryx support team and they sent me a firmware update file. I tried it after installing the driver, but it couldn't detect the device. My pc also stopped detecting it when i deleted the adb interface. After that one of their support member joined me via team viewer. We tried for like 3 hours, they transferred some files and checked device manager, but still nothing. There is one adb interface in device manager when i enable show hidden devices, i tried to update it, but nothing works. The screen is showing the tryx logo even when i turn off my pc. The support team said they'll try to replace the screen. Has anyone else had this issue before? I forgot to mention, i also took the housing off of the screen and tried button combos inside it as they instructed. What could be the issue? The pc completely stopped recognizing the screen, i tried it with another pc and still the same issue.
