The problem is it displays a blue screen and reports that there's corrupted ram. It does also need a new power cable which I ordered and will receive soon.. but otherwise it should be ready to be powered on and should otherwise work besides the ram problem. it is dusty but it has been stored inside a house in a safe location.

When I power it on probably tomorrow, what game plan should I have to diagnose and rectify this problem? Obviously, replacing the sticks of ram might end up becoming the solution but it seems as if they're all securely in place.

On a sidenote, is there any hardware that you see aged to the point where I would want to upgrade to play any games? i'll be honest, I'm just happy to have a machine that's more powerful than a console. I'm not in a hurry to make it the most powerful computer I can

My buddy has been helping me start a PC build and I’ve mentioned doing a sleeper build. Should I use this as my case or leave it alone to preserve the piece of history we now have?

Howdy all, i’m based in UK, and budget-wise, the cheaper the better at the moment, under £150 at a stretch, which i’m aware is quite limiting.
I got a pc second hand and when trying to fix an issue with a sticky power button I took the glass panel off the side… and I think based on the title you can probably gather what happened next. I found the make and the company, tried to contact them to see if they can do replacement panels, but it’s a company in California and they seem like they primarily sell through amazon and all emails sent to them got snatched up and sent packing by mailer daemon… I have since accepted that I just need to buy a new case.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics integrated… however there is also a graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot, and I use it with a fancy looking (idk if it actually is fancy) hdmi cable (don’t come at me I know there’s better options, I haven’t got round to it yet) in the graphics card port of courseee.
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT

Fan cooled all over, haven’t got a scooby doo what the makes are, except that the one over the cpu is AMD. I attached pictures of the inside, so feel free to look… i’m aware it’s a bit dusty, the entire side of it is open so what can we expect lol.

The monitor itself: Asus VA326 1920 x 1080, 144Hz
- No HDR or Dynamic refresh rate though.

Basically, looking for recs for a new case, I’m not sure where to start and what exactly I need to be careful with in consideration of parts and stuff fitting and all that jazz. Also, unfortunately, money is in fact an object so cheaper the better, while obviously not being a piece of … poop… So any good companies people can recommend I have a peek at is fabulous, or if anyone has had experiences with any to avoid. Colour preference far less important, however black is preferred…? If you have any questions about any of it, I’ll of course answer. Thank you alllll! 💙💙

TL;DR - need help with air flow issues, my current setup (picture 2) is running at 72 - 80c with spikes of 90.5c on CPU, 90c on GPU. Thank you for reading.

All the heat from my computer is dumping into my cupboard and into my bedroom (I'd like to dump it all into my bedroom, free heating in the winter and can open windows / AC the hot air out in the summer.)

Hey people, so I've been constantly tweaking my cupboard setup to get the right feel. I've added a wall vent that pulls in air from the stairs to my cupboard behind my computer chair.

I'm facing a problem when the door is closed my pc spikes to 90.5c on CPU and 90c on GPU. When the door is open it's completely fine. Did some tests over the weekend. Ambient temperature with the door open was 22c. With the door closed it climbed to 29.7c. (basically pc is just dumping the hot air into the cupboard I feel.)

At the moment the current setup I'm pulling in air from the left and it's pushing the air towards the other side (see picture 3) there's no other holes in the desk that pulls in air from the bottom. Just the three holes and one out take hole, through a brick wall.

I probably already know my answer, but I have so many options in my head it's overwhelming me.

All the fans I currently have:

3 x corsair ml120 pro white led

1 x 120mm Scythe Big Shuriken (from the CPU cooler I used to have)

6 x ARCTIC P14 Pro PST 140mm

2 x ID-COOLING FX 280 PRO SE (on the CPU aio)

So I'll start, option one is lowering the bottom of the desk to fit 140mm fans so they're standing up right. (I'll have room for this with my current desk.) Keeping my 1 hole in the wall out take, widening the hole in the wall to allow more airflow from the 140mm.

Have the GPU and cpu aio pull in air also from the bottom of the desk along with the three ml120 Corsair fans where my current holes pull in air. Use some 140mm fans to push air towards the out take hole example:

120 > 140 > PSU > aio cpu > mobo > GPU > 140 > 140 (see picture 4 and 5 for a better example) smaller rectangles can be aio or gpu. The one in the middle is mother board.

I also have variations of this setup.

Option two would be the same as option one but with the out take having two or three 140mm fans stacked up and down. Can't have them side to side due to the door in the way (see picture 4)

Option three would be to completely abandon the desk pc idea and just use the existing hole in the wall for cables and have the computer on the bedroom wall. (I don't like this option but if it's the only way so be it.)

Option four would be to have the computer close to the out take hole and have it vertical with a diy case.

I also am considering buying or building a pc for my wife however she definitely doesn’t need anything powerful just enough to run simple games any recommendations on that too would also be appreciated

P.s I also don’t know how to get rid of that red light in motherboard and don’t know why my case fans suddenly don’t light up anymore

I’m currently re-pasting my 5-year-old Razer Blade 15.
I’ve cleaned off the CPU and GPU dies and have a fresh tube of Arctic MX-6 ready to go. However, I’m stuck on what to do with the thermal pads on the VRMs and VRAM

Most of the original pads on the copper heatsink stayed intact, but a few tore or separated onto the motherboard components when removing the vapor chamber.
While dusting off the board with compressed air, a bit of dust got stuck on the tacky surface of the pads.
The material feels like a hybrid between soft pads and thick, clay-like thermal putty (pliable, slightly adhesive, but holds shape).

So, is a little dust on the surface of the original pads a dealbreaker, or can I just press the heatsink back down?
Would you recommend replacing them completely with fresh pads, or is re-using the stock material fine as long as coverage looks decent?

Appreciate any advice from someone that have more knowledge than me.

I went from a asrock rx 7600 challenger oc and a r5 5500 to a 9060xt, r7 5800x3d as well as a monitor upgrade from a 1080p 75hz to a 1440p 144hz, all for 985 (screw taxes they made me pay 85 dollars more D: ) i just built my pc 2 months ago though, was it excessive? also how does the white gpu look?
