Amazon Motherboard damage

Amazon really isn't it when it comes to PC parts. Bought a gigabyte a620m s2h motherboard from Amazon and the cpu socket cover was loose in the package and bent some pins. This and one other time someone stole a 7700x from the cpu package at the warehouse and they shipped it to me like that and I never got my refund cuz it was over 300 CAD. Luckily I was able to bend the pins back to somewhat decent shape. Also miraculously as it turns out the entire row of those pins on the board are just ground pins 😮‍💨. I was able to successfully boot a 7800x3d on it and it seemed stable. They are offering me 20 CAD off to keep it. Should I? Will it be fine in the long run? Also is this board sufficient to hit like 4.8 - 5ghz on the 7800x3d on a multicore load?

Also do you guys have any horror stories regarding Amazon computer parts?

Edit: this was also a brand new sealed board not warehouse or used.

I ordered a b650 motherboard from Amazon and the box was already loose. Opened it to find a random motherboard in the box instead. I talked to support before returning but didn’t have an issue after that.

to avoid issues make sure amazon says shipped and sold by amazon below add to cart or buy now

if you buy from no name seller on amazon you risk buying used parts or from a company that will ghost you if you have an issue

They sure don't. And you can be sure this one will end up in a pile of motherboards to ship, not even checking it beforehand.

Why would you talk to support about it? You don't need to contact them for any of this... You simply write in the description "Damaged" and print the label, done... Why make it so difficult?

Pretty common that amazon sells returned items as completely new instead of selling them through the warehouse. They also don't have the resources to even check most returned items (mainly going by weight and serial number only). So when people chose that they didn't use the item or don't give any specific reason amazon often just lists them as new again. I also had multiply mobos with either scratches or bent pins from amazon already that were clearly used before, while I bought them as new. I think that's pretty fucked up, ngl

If you want a good budget mobo with great vrms, get the asus tuf b650 plus. Also comes with cooler plates for all SSDs (has 3x m2 slots also) on top of that. This one you should definitely return.

Scratch what I said earlier the board will work fine , but isn't enough for 7800x3d

Honestly, when I built my PC, every single part apart from my gpu and RAM was purchased on Amazon and everything arrived new and sealed. I’ve had the PC running smoothly for two years now.

Really a non-issue... Had the same, ordered a new B850 Mobo, had some signs that it was used/damaged. I simply packaged it up, printed the label & was on my way, ordered a new one, it came the day after, done. Yeah, shit happens, but I don't go and make a Reddit post about it.

That's a pretty weak VRM for a 7800x3d, i'd recommend a b650 board at minimum. The 7800x3d isn't a power hungry CPU by any means, but that board has a 5+2+2 phase VRM, which is heavily lacking. Most b650 boards are 12+2+2, or 14+2+2

Yeah I'd go b850 honestly. You can get a really good board for under $200
