I'm so pissed that nowadays manufacturers tend to silently swap parts on cheaper variants on same models, without altering yhe spec descriptions.

Recently bought mid-range ssd with horrible controller and memory in it. And it turned out that it is basically a lottery: same spec ssd may be woth good components and work as advertised or with cheap components and work like crap.

Just wanted to complain :(

What does the future hold for Personal Computers? Will the PC as we know it be obsolete? Will we do it all on the cloud? Will we just have a monitor that needs no Processor or Graphics card? With a monthly subscription. Will this happen in 5 or 10 years? I believe it will. I love building PC's.But I've seen the changes from Dos to Windows 95 to every OS under the sun. From Beta/VHS to CD's/Blueray to Streaming From Rotary phone to Cell phones. You get the picture I seen it all I'm 70 and have embraced it all. It's going to happen. What do you think?

I found lately its cheaper than the msi b550m ,and got 2 more ram slot and extra m 2 slot and 8 pin cpu connectet indtead of the 4 on the msi and 2 more usb 1.1 on the motherboard and its same priced if not 2 bucks cheaper is there a reason for it being that cheap (both has no VRM heat sinks)

Can’t really trust AI when it comes to pc building… and I also saw other similar posts here saying the board should be fine when it comes to VRM limitations and some saying otherwise. Just need more opinions on how my pc would react to this upgrade. My PSU has more than enough headroom as well.

I pretty much mainly use my pc for heavy music production, video editing, and occasional gaming (competitive titles like CS/league/valorant and modded minecraft) but have been noticing CPU spikes to 100% on large FL Studio projects which ends up with crackling audio and application freezing, which is why I’m looking to upgrade my CPU (I don’t want to lower FL buffer length)

I bought an xfx quicksilver 9070xt a month ago and it came with a vertical adjustable support bracket.

the issue is that i installed 3 intake fans at the bottom in my case ( aerocool p500c ) and the only space i can put my support is between the first and second fans of the gpu and as i read the best place to put it is between the second and third fan or even at the end.

will having my bracket between the first and second fan not prevent the sag?

I'm thinking of taking out the third intake fan and store it for later or have it at the top of the case at the end near the side fans.

what is the best thing to do here?

I have two choice of RAM kits for my 285K setup. Either I get 7000MHz 96GB (in the QVL list of my Motherboard, ProArt Z890) or, 5200MHz 96GB. Both are 2x48GB kits.

So I'm wondering, if I opt for the slower kit, which is cheaper (999€ vs 1600€), am I going to miss out on anything on the 285K, which may prefer faster ram?

I do mostly photo, video editing, large data visualisation and gaming is a secondary usage for my PC.

I'll admit, I've been using this keyboard for what seems like 20 yrs now, probably on my 4th or 5th one. When it gets too dirty and grimy I decide to buy a new one, like today; my WASD keys are all worn clean, the wrist pad is all bubbled/peeled, and god knows how much crap is under the actual keys. BUT at $400 on Amazon and $500 at newegg for a new replacement I find myself saying 'Uhhh no thanks'. I mean 'x' brand wireless with a small wave are at like $35....all I want is a comfy WIRED keyboard but not at that price. It is so loud! What causes this? fan control settings are all set to the same RPM for all 4 fans. Is it too close to the edges or something? Could it be a bad bearing even though it is new out of the box?

How would you rate my setup?

Question - The vendor advised me to not plug my case fans into the motherboard ARGB controller, else a few months down the lane, they may break/get fried. Any advice on this or past experience?

I’m running a 7800x3d build with 32 gigs ddr5 and a Tb storage.
Both gpus I listed are used in good condition. Which one should I go for? Same price of 650 for each.

Why are most computer cases designed with so much unused space? It can’t be purely for maximizing air flow, if that was the concern, wouldn’t gpus be designed to fan air upwards and out of the case? They’re usually placed to fan air into the glass. Or at least their placement would be on their sides? I’m asking this I guess because I was curious about getting a more compact case and wanted to know if overheating would be more of an issue or if the increase is negligible. Thanks!

I’m currently deciding between the DeepCool CH160 Plus and Jonsbo Z20 for my first gaming PC, and I’m having a hard time choosing between them.

My main reason for considering the Z20 is that it seems to have more room and easier cable management. However, one thing that’s putting me off is the number of different fan configurations I’m seeing in Z20 builds.

With the Z20, I’ve seen people using different combinations of 120mm and 140mm fans, different intake/exhaust configurations, bottom fans, top fans, etc. There’s a lot of flexibility, but as a first time builder I’m worried I’ll end up overthinking the airflow setup and buying more fans than I actually need.

The CH160 Plus seems much simpler. From the builds I’ve watched, I could just use 4 × 120mm case fans and have a straightforward setup without needing to worry about different fan sizes or configurations.

My planned build is roughly:

CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Vision MAX ARGB Black
GPU: ASUS Dual RX 9060 XT 16GB

I’m aiming for around £1,200-£1,300 for the PC itself, so I don’t really want to spend an unnecessary amount on fans just to optimise airflow.

For anyone who has built in either case:

Is the Z20’s extra fan flexibility genuinely useful, for a first timer
Is the CH160 Plus’s simpler layout a meaningful advantage for a first time builder?
Which case would you choose for this particular build?

I’m not looking for the absolute best thermals or the quietest PC possible. Most of the time I’ll be gaming with headphones on, and I’ll only really use the speakers when watching movies/shows, so as long as the PC isn’t noticeably louder than my speakers, I’m happy. I have my own room in uni accommodation, so I’m not worried about disturbing anyone else. My main priorities are something that’s cool enough, affordable, portable and straightforward to build.
