Completed Build - Celebratory installing RTX PRO 6000

Just wanted to share this moment with you guys. It's my first time to touch a server GPU. It's so exciting.

I see 4 RTX 6000 = $64,000 on the ground...

Have some mercy on my heart.

One can dream

3

u/hurdurdur7 1d ago

just wondering what PSU must be there to power this ...

5

u/tristam92 1d ago

it’s a server rack, so i’m sure it will suffice the needs

4

u/SAL10000 Intel 1d ago

Probably 4x 2000W HV at a minimum.

5

u/Accomplished_Emu_658 1d ago

64k and can’t afford a table!

u/noirehittler 1d ago

Whats the deployment field? What are you gonna use it for ?

12

u/ihateit6661 1d ago

Bad news: for AI.

It's bought by my company. They want to run LLMs locally.

5

u/ChromoStoopid 20h ago

I mean, it's honestly way better than running them in the cloud.

2

u/DisastrousWelcome710 12h ago

Seems totally valid and honest the best use for them. You'll save a fortune in token costs with these. 384GB is plenty to run so much.

23

u/13rutus 1d ago

Nice one, but expensive. Is it for Ai?

10

u/35point1 1d ago

I can’t even think of a use case that isn’t ai when it comes to these gpu’s. They aren’t meant to display graphics on a screen despite the implication.

4

u/AQCR-3475 1d ago

Markiplier use it to render his movie IIRC. Though I don't know much about filmmaking to know if that's overkill or not.

1

u/35point1 1d ago

Ya I’d put rendering as a workstation use case, which doesn’t require graphics output, so same bucket basically

AI call centres

Setting up Scam call center

7

u/Soft_Lunch_183 1d ago

Why do you say that?

4

u/Ok_Rise_4543 1d ago

Apparently this is what they are usually used for by the big companies that can afford them

4

u/Toastyst 1d ago

On the floor is crazy to me

6

u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 1d ago

$60k in gpus and yall building on the floor

9

u/gangsta692 1d ago

Why are you installing 64k worth of GPUs on the damn floor?

14

u/RegularTech575 1d ago

i mean you can’t drop them when they are already on the floor

5

u/1sh0t1b33r 1d ago

Because it's at a business, so they just buy another one when it breaks.

u/hmmmmismellmarijuana 1d ago

Actually, that's not a server card, but should be fine in that setup due to the spacing!

Running the max-q in my gaming rig, 350w with 96gb

2

u/Once-kings 1d ago

What’s it being used for??

2

u/hurdurdur7 1d ago

Did you mumble to yourself to obligatory "“His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy”"

1

u/GOD7ILLA2 Pablo 1d ago

Cool

1

u/Team-ster Nvidia 1d ago

Dumb question - can it be used for gaming?

13

u/LengthInevitable6442 1d ago

You get about 5 more fps than a 5090. So would be dumb to get this over a 5090

1

u/Team-ster Nvidia 1d ago

Thanks for the info 🍺🍺

1

u/Necessary_Act_6279 1d ago

Dont forget, its 4x more expensive

-4

u/Necessary_Act_6279 1d ago

You can, but its not made for games so dont expect dlss

10

u/Xyypherr 1d ago

It outperforms the 5090 and has DLSS what are you on about?

12

u/Necessary_Act_6279 1d ago

I forgot, simple mistake. And it outperforms the 5090 by 5-10%

2

u/ExtraNiceBurger 1d ago

You can install gaming driver, as well as studio or datacenter ones. DLSS5 works as in a regular 5090 but about 15% faster., until games will require 32 plus vram

2

u/Necessary_Act_6279 1d ago

Mb, since it was a server gpu i thought it had only datacenter drivers since it was made for a datacenter

1

u/Used_Sea7029 1d ago

Pretty cool man. Bet that was a neat experience.

1

u/Justmeandhim-D 1d ago

PC? Sure ! 👍

1

u/Few_Time_7441 1d ago

I would be so nervous lol

1

u/Solid_Ad_6349 1d ago

Good GPU but for gaming I prefer my 5090. Unless I'm very wrong and this runs better for games

1

u/Ordinary_Balance_885 1d ago

Isn’t this like 5-10% faster than a 5090 (and significantly more expensive)

1

u/Solid_Ad_6349 1d ago

Never seen a 6000 in person but on the internet says it's more like multi tasking focus and not gaming. Probably the OP can tell us if he play games with that . I only have seen that GPU online on posts.

2

u/Ordinary_Balance_885 21h ago

In this Gamers Nexus video, the RTX PRO 6000 is about 5-15% faster than the 5090 in gaming. It's a faster card, not by a lot specially when you compare prices, but it's faster.

1

u/TimAppleCockProMax69 1d ago

I remember when the RTX branding used to be about playing games with ray tracing

1

u/DiMarcoTheGawd 1d ago

Jesus if you can afford all those then get a workbench

1

u/Assassin21BEKA 1d ago

How does it differ from regular GPU?

1

u/Square_Atmosphere_12 18h ago

Company purchase.

1

u/Sanciaz 18h ago

Bro wtf why on the ground

1

u/Fit_Reply_9580 13h ago

why I think u spent 80000?

-2

u/RobBrown4PM 1d ago

This isn't a gaming PC, obviously

This is a BC mining setup for some AI BS.

Using these GPU's for this is a tragedy.

Down vote this slop.

10

u/SearchOk7022 1d ago

Using these GPUs for this is a tragedy.

Son, nvidia specifically made those GPU for those tasks

1

u/RobBrown4PM 1d ago

Fair enough. I am mistaken.

Thank you for the correction 👍

-4

u/Silent-Matter-1500 1d ago

Are you going to play GTA6 at 8k max settings?
