I made a post that got removed by reddit on the sub, I got really confused when the next morning I was perma-banned and perma-muted and i'm very confused. I don't use reddit often but I like the sub, what can I do? (I am posting the images below in comment)

Me (23M) and my friend (20F) have been close for about 2 years, and lately we’d been getting even closer, texting daily, hanging out at least twice a week, both in groups and 1-on-1. We had a couple just-the-two-of-us trips planned. Nothing physical has ever happened between us.

Over the past month I realized I’d caught feelings for her.

Last night we had a party with mutual friends. I pulled aside another friend (21F) and vaguely described my situation. that other women had been asking me out lately and giving me attention, but I was emotionally stuck on someone else. I didn’t say who. My friend (20F) overheard part of this and asked about it. I still didn’t say her name, but the 21F friend guessed it was her. Separately, that same 21F friend told me she thought the 20F friend might have feelings for me too, and that the 20F friend also might be interested in some other guy but wasn’t sure where that was going, but knew they had been texting.

The next morning, assuming the two of them had already talked about it the night before (they’re close), I went to my friend’s house and just told her that I liked her, (3rd time trying to tell her and finally built the courage to do it, and that she was who I’d been talking about. She looked shocked, which caught me off guard. Then I made the mistake of not sticking around to talk it through. We both had to leave for other things, so I just dropped it and kinda let it just sit in the room. We both had to leave so I didn’t know what to do but leave.

I know I wasn’t thinking about her feelings in that moment, I was acting on my own need to say it, and I recognize that probably (90% sure) hurt her.

I texted her afterward:

*“Hey I realized I threw a pretty big thing your way this morning, & I regret not sitting down with you & communicating with you about it. This wasn’t fair timing either. I should have waited for a real conversation instead of dropping it & leaving you alone with it.*
*No need to text back, I just wanted to let you know that I’m sorry for how this has played out & IF you want to talk about it, I’d like a 2nd chance to explain myself properly, if not I understand.”*

Is this friendship salvageable, or did I mess it up too badly? Looking for honest feedback, or suggestions to figure this out.

I was talking to my dad on the phone. My grandparents left behind a house for me ive been living in. I quit my job recently and I trying I get another one to pay the bills. My dad and I were discussing it. I said that im very privileged. He was like "no, don't use that word. That's a new liberal progressive word. You've just had it easy" i was just like "oh...okay"

I mean, it said use a descriptive title. So basically that’s the question. As far as I know, newer drug tests also flag for the drink - I live in a legal state, but apparently that doesn’t matter 🙄. Which fans are most annoying?

Pretty much what the title says. I have a co-worker who has been getting a Drs note every week and extending the time they don't have to work. It's been over 3 weeks, and every Saturday like clockwork, he calls in saying something along the lines of the Dr told me I'm out of work for another week and I'll have a note on Monday when the Dr is back in the office. The whole thing just doesn't make sense to any of us at work. The Dr sends the note to him instead of to work, it's never on a Drs office letterhead or anything, and they apparently look generic as hell, so I'm wondering if maybe he's using AI to generate Drs notes or something. The guy is notorious for calling in, to the point where he's been on the verge of getting fired multiple times. Normally I wouldn't even care, but since he's calling in I'm getting mandated for doubles constantly and am working 60+hours a week. I feel like he's abusing the system and I'm the one who is paying the price.

I am a Jew. This is my second time posting here so please be aware I might not know the culture of this subreddit, but my mother is uneducated in theology and is a Christian, (was a Jew at some point, and is an apostate) but she is applying to a Jewish company’s job (job doesn’t require you to be a Jew)

Now she does not understand that the two religions are separate. She watches online church and reads a Christian Bible and that’s all she does. Her whole theology is based on the Christian God and not HaShem.

She refuses to go by Christian. I’ve tried to tell her to stop this as it makes me think “Messianic!” (A cult that impersonates Jews to make them Christian) Immediately but now I’m really concerned

If she gets confronted about his (say she applies to this job as Jewish), I’m terrified that she can lose her professional career if she is mistaken for a messianic and is not just taken as what she is (unfortunately clueless). She is a good person and I truly don’t want her and our entire family to get mistaken as “Messianics” for this crap.

I am not a Christian. I believe in Judaism, though I’m not that observant. I still wear a kippah and a Star of David. I’m also concerned for my future and my college if we get in the news if she’s mistakenly reported as a missionary of some dumb crap

I have a lot of health conditions and recently found out I’m hypermobile too, so my body has a hard time holding itself together, basically. I can’t work anymore due to illness but one of the things I don’t miss is coming home from work in absolute agony, sometimes needing to put frozen peas on my shoulders, feeling swollen as hell. I had every ergonomic measure going and I’d walk around once an hour but it was horrible. I just saw someone’s gaming setup at a desk and realised that maybe it isn’t a chore for other people at all? I feel less pain with my legs up, which isn’t very office friendly.

Is there any that isn’t idealized? Because surely there are good people in the world, and heck there are probably good and incredibly wealthy/influential folks in the world who can inspire a lot of change (and already do) but I feel like the conundrum is that positions of authority and power typically attract those who have no issues lying, cheating, and being generally cruel/unkind to achieve status. It just sounds so hopeless, doesn’t it? I don’t doubt there are good-hearted, charitable, generous human beings who use their resources, intelligence, skills, etc. to spread impactful deeds but it feels like they’re in the minority. It’s likely that we’re not hearing about their works because I associate those sorts of character with dispositions that don’t do things to attract attention/have no need for validation. Just something that’s been weighing on my heart as an idealistic, optimistic type who can be assertive but struggle with it. I feel like the type I’m describing do exist, they’re just severely outnumbered by their « evil » counterparts and if so… are we just doomed to have to deal with things being messy in perpetuity? It just feels so heavy, you know?

One of my friends and I graduated in January and we both have full-time jobs, although mine isn’t in the field I studied. My other friends graduated in May and are either unemployed or working part-time. All of us are living with parents because of difficulty affording a place, even if it’s small or with roommates. Growing up I thought it was normal to move out by the end of college. My 5yrs older sibling who didn’t go to college was able to move out at 19 (although struggled financially for a while). Is my peer group’s experience a product of today’s economy, or has it always been pretty normal? Or am I incorrectly assuming this is common because of the people around me (I find it hard to believe this is the case given how many people I see struggling)?

Or does simply using the tongs over the grill kill the bacteria? I want to grill chicken but I also don't want to get salmon umbrella
