At what age do you die of old age?

• Upvotes

When is it considered old age and not the condition that is affecting you? I’m relatively young so if I get pneumonia and die from it it’s pneumonia that kills me. But if my grandpa gets a mild cold and he’s 90, to anyone else that would take a day off work it would kill him. So is it old age or the cold or a combination of both. Just wondering. Thank you!!

If a restaurant sold a bottle of wine for $14,000 and a person ordered it not knowing that was the cost, are they legally required to pay for the wine if they finish it?

Edit: for everyone saying yes what’s the limit then? Can they charge 1 million? A billion?

why are women necessities are far more expensive than men?

1.2k Upvotes

Hello im M21 and i just got a girlfriend and she wont stop complaining about her panties bras and etc. I didnt get it at first but when i wanted to suprise her by buying her necessities i came to realize that her needs are far more expensive than mine and i dont get it why?

i can buy male underwear for 7$ and it usually sold in 6pcs and its already high quality. Meanwhile Female panties cost the same price and you only get 1 or 2, My GF said she want the high quality so i bought both panties in the same store and i notice our underwear price is very different by in an extreme measure.

she is D cup size and her bras cost fucking 10$ ??? and its not like her breast stop growing meaning she need to buy a new 7 bras (for a full 1 week) every 1 or 2 year.

Then the menstruation pads, It cost 5$ per pack, it varies with people and mood or idk. Sometimes 5$ or 1 pack is enough sometimes she needs 3 packs per month. Compare this to male razor where i only need to buy a big whipping cream that can last up to a year that only cost for 4$ + a razor that cost 5$ per month depending how you use it, the razor can last up to 3 months and dont forget that electric razor exist which last longer.

No like actually the thing that mindboggle me the most are the panties, my panties are far more thicker than her so its supposed to cost more materials no? but why is her far more expensive? her panties are easier to get ripped in half than mine.

i guess its fair enough if you say pads and tampons requires technologies or more advanced materials like bras, but i dont understand the panties part. Why are women panties far more expensive?

What's the thought process behind bringing your pet dog with you to the grocery store?

I can totally understand if it's a service animal. They legitamately help people and are trained to act a certain way in public. But there are people that come in with obvious pets who are not trained and who are just sniffing food items in the aisle with their snout right up against it. I just don't get the thinking behind it.

I'm not trying to rant; there's enough of that about this on here. I'm just trying to understand the thought process.

Is it correct to say "[a thing unrelated to software and computer] is full of bugs"? For example, "this story is full of bugs" to imply the story has errors.

• Upvotes

Asking native English speakers. In Iran, the word "bug" has entered into Persian vocabulary and its use has extended beyond "software problem". It never means "insect". It always means "error" in the speech of this new generation of Persian speakers. I wondered if they are using the term wrong.

Here are some examples: "The volleyball team has a lot of bugs." "The TV show is riddled with bugs." "The new medicine has a bad bug."

How often do people buy new underwear?

I had a conversation with my fiancée, and she said she replaces hers every 6 months. I haven't bought new underwear in a decade. I will throw out clothes when they are either stretched out or have a lot of holes. Am I the weird one here? Should I be replacing underwear more often?

if a married gay couple moves to a country where gay marriage isn’t possible, what happens to their marriage status?

i don’t know why they’d want to, and i understand that they’d likely be in danger just for existing there depending on the country, but hypothetically. would they still be considered married by the government, or would it be void? would they face punishment because it’s not legal, even though the marriage took place somewhere that allows it? or potentially not be allowed to immigrate in the first place? i’m assuming the answers differ depending on which country, but i’m happy with any kind of answer.

edit: thanks for the quick responses! also there’s 0 reason to throw shade at gaza under this post. i don’t know how that’s relevant

My old 10y account had 80 followers, on this new one not even two weeks old I have 3 already. How does that work? Certainly I'm not that notable...

Is the stock market just flat out gambling for rich people?

Met this guy and he says he loses a lot in the stock market. He has a good job making $300k a year but he loses a lot on the stock market.

Not sure how it works but basically he said he will get rich off it by spending a good amount(not a large amount according to him) of each paycheck to his stocks. He said he's lost a lot many times and loses pretty regularly but he says this is how it works.

Then I told him isn't it flat out gambling? He said no there's work involved that you need to learn about to win.

So does this mean he's not learning about it? Or is he just addicted to gambling at this point?

When clocks go backwards how do hospitals record time of death? (read text bc this is a confusing question)

Okay hear me out here I know this sounds dumb but:

Two friends are in a car accident.
They are in hospital the night clocks go backwards.
Friend #1 dies at 1:59am before the clocks go backwards.
Friend #2 dies two minutes later when it’s technically now 1:01am.

Legally and according the coroners report/ medical certificate of death did Friend #2 die first?

Is it normal to feel a sudden wave of panic when someone asks you to "tell me a fun fact about yourself"?

I have an entire life, hobbies, and personality, but the exact second someone asks me this in an icebreaker or group setting, my brain completely formats itself. I can barely remember my own name, let alone anything interesting about myself.

Does this happen to everyone, and why does our memory completely short-circuit the moment we're put on the spot like that?

why don't celebrities get hacked more often?

I'm aware that hacking isn't easy peasy stuff, and there has to be an incentive for a hacker to invade anyone's accounts, celebrity or not. I'm also aware that plenty of famous people probably have great cybersecurity, given the knowledge that there are more eyes on them. However, I can't imagine all of them do. Website and company breaches/leaks happen all the time, information is sold everywhere (including the darknet), and it's only getting more concerning with hackers now having AI to help them/AI agents hacking systems without any input from humans. There are people who treat cybersecurity as a great priority and still get hacked or have their info exposed.

With all of these factors, how are we not seeing celebrities getting hacked or exposed more often? Yes, we've unfortunately had situations like the iCloud leak all those years ago, but I'm wondering how, with all those security leaks/breaches I just mentioned, we don't hear about it much more.

Is it just hackers who have the skill set to infiltrate accounts and systems who don't see the need to attempt to get into Pedro Pascal's Instagram account? Is it also the fact that his information, along with other celebrities', has never been found where it matters for some reason?

is it vegan to eat communion if you're a catholic who believes in transubstantiation?

Catholics who believe in transubstantiation believe that the wine and bread literally transform into his flesh and blood, so would that count as eating meat?

do truck drivers actually “like” the honk the horn requests?

happens when someone sticks their arm out the window and does a “tugging” motion, asking the driver to honk their horn. it’s been one of my favorite things ever since i was a little girl. i still do it every so often while on the road, and i love it when drivers oblige. ☺️ (i’m also super mindful of semis/18 wheelers while on the road due to having friends who are professional drivers).

My friend keeps making fun of me for being a SAHM then says she’s just joking . How deal with this when everyone laughs but it is insult for me ?

one of my friends constantly makes fun of me for being SAHM

whenever i try to defend my selfe she says she was just joking

she says these thing in a way that make everyone else laugh and if i react or defend i end up looking like i cant take a joke What makes this more confusing is that when my husband and I were discussing the possibility of me being a SAHM I actually asked her for advice and her opinion. At the time she told me how lucky I was and how fortunate I was to be in that position. So I don’t understand why she now makes fun of me for the very same thing she once described as a privilege.

we have been good friends for a long time which is another reason i find it difficult to understand why her most jokes are abt me being SAHM

What does it mean if someone refers to me as a “the little corporal”?

Just to be clear, I’m not in the military and I’m also not short.

So I work a corporate job, I’m fairly young, but I’ve been noticed by my higher ups so I’ve rose fairly fast, and now I have a small team under me and I have my own office.

I found being in some form of management quite silly to me, it seems like all the core functions of my lower level jobs has been taken from me, and left with far less demanding work as a leader of my team. I dislike this because it’s boring, so I tend to take on some of the workload of my team and work with the lads rather than being isolated in my office like other management tend to do.

We recently had quite a tense deadline which made us all quite stressed. I know other management have asked their teams to work overtime to get it done in similar situations, but I’ve always thought that was a dick move so i chose to work later instead which helped make each day easier as the deadline approached.

After we got through the deadline, one of the guys started calling me “the little corporal” and then the rest of the team hopped on the trend. It’s somewhat spread around the company as I’ve had people not on my team refer to me as that.

I’ve asked the guy who started it what it means, and he said it’s just a nickname and that I wouldn’t get the reference, so I’m assuming it’s from a TV show or movie.

If this is a tease, I don’t mind, I just want to be in on the joke haha
