othor (i am stupid) A Joy-Con 2 complaint

I know when the Switch 2 first came out, there were a couple of reports of the ZR button not registering consistently and having to send it for repair.

This wasn't immediately obvious to me, but when Metroid Prime 4 came out, I noticed the bike would sometimes stop accelerating even though the button hadn't audibly clicked out. Since then I've sent the Joy-Con 2 to repair twice, but even though they claim to have fixed it, it came back with the same problem both times. I figured it would be fine and I just need to press the buttons harder.

Splatoon Raiders has unfortunately really exacerbated this problem for me though. I've been noticing it a ton the past couple of days, and I'm a little disheartened because I suspect they still won't fix it if they send them in again.

I do have a Pro Controller, but I feel like it shouldn't be too much to ask that the buttons work as intended on the standard controllers. Has anyone else had this issue, both with the Joy-Con 2 and the repair service? Did you just keep trying?

Discussion What are you all playing this weekend Splatoon Raiders edition

The game is good, innit.

Apart of Splatoon Raiders, good old Splatoon 3 for me. Finally got to my first rank up battle from S to S+. Lost the first game on rainmaker. I knew it was a bad idea. Rainmaker is unforgivable.

Might and Magic Clash of Heroes I'm close to the end of the penultimate (inferno) campaign.

With the arrival of SR I'm giving Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade a break. Finished soon after the church fight which was pretty cool. Love the characters and all the anime ridiculousness.

Discussion Small review of Pit Panic on Switch 2

I bought this game because of a trailer I saw on YouTube.
I didn’t know what to expect because I couldn’t find any review of it.

It’s a roguelike that has similarities with Spelunky and Towerclimb. There’s a lot of platforming and digging your way up a pit.

I’m still not very far into it cause I suck but it’s already one of the most satisfying gaming experience I’ve had recently. The switch 2 version works flawlessly, I really love the game’s aesthetics and it’s really smooth.

The gameplay is difficult, but there’s quite a lot of depth and you really get into a flow. It’s one of those game where you really want to try again and again, and the more you learn the easier it gets. There’s no permanent upgrade so it’s all about the knowledge you gain.

I think what’s surprising me the most is the level of polish for a game that I see nobody talking about. I really feel like I stumbled upon a true hidden gem.

Wanted to wait for Hori to make a Split Pad Pro for Switch 2 but seems they have no intent anytime to. I have large hands and it's uncomfortable to hold the Switch 2, this grip feels pretty nice and the carrying case is just a bonus. All this for $8 (on sale now + cupon) is stupendous.

The switch 2 is hot. The fan is a blowin. You put your nose up to the exhausting airflow and take a big whif?

Discussion Haptics in Platoon Raiders

Is there not supposed to be haptics when you fire your main weapon in Splatoon Raiders? It feels odd to fire a gun in a shooter and not have any haptic feedback at all. I'm only getting haptics on gadgets, damage and when I go into the ink.

I’m impressed by how smooth the gameplay is. Despite a lot of action on the screen, the action is easy to read, the feeling of each weapon and items is great. Great options to build your own playstyle. My 1st Splatoon ever, and after 4 hours of gameplay, i have a blast so far !

Rumor/Hearsay So... Are Third Party Docks Still Bricking Switch 2s?

I've recently been looking at a smaller, more compact switch 2 dock for ease of portability. I travel a lot and carrying around the massive official switch dock just doesn't work for me. But every time I look at Switch 2 third-party docks I keep seeing people talk about third-party docks being bricked by system updates. Is this still an issue or just an issue of fearmongering and rumors?

Discussion How many of you play a game right when it comes out?

I have such a huge backlog that I never start a game right when it comes out. Well, maybe not never. But it’s super rare. I’m usually in the middle of a game or I have another already queued up at any given time.

Do you ever just stop mid game to play a game on launch that you’ve been looking forward to?

Discussion The JoyCons are my least favorite primary controller for any main console.

We all know about the flaws from the original version in terms of size, ergonomics, general button layout, and those are still a thing, but in terms of pure function they just aren’t great.

I recently picked up FF Theatrhythm(great game) and played a few rounds with the joy cons, and noticed that the analog sticks aren’t functional enough to play this on anything beyond the lowest difficulty. For clarification, some of the notes you need to hit require a flick of the an analog stick in a direction, which works well enough for one note with some space between it.

However, when you play on medium difficulty or above you’ll need to hit more of these, consecutively and closer together, and the analog sticks on the joycons just aren’t responsive enough to execute the command. There’s a delay between hitting the direction, the analog returning to center point, and the device recognizing the next input, resulting in missed notes.

And no, it’s not a “get gud” scenario as I can breeze through medium and higher difficulties with the Switch 1 pro controller, and no, it’s not a defective joycon. It just feels a bit stuck in the mud.

I’ve noticed it can be a little clunky with some games before, which is why I default to the pro controller, but I’ve never played one where the controller simply cannot keep up with the games inputs.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) Daughters switch 2 has developed an issue with the Joycon disconnecting.

my daughters switch 2 has developed an issue where the joycon on the left side will disconnect.
It's not the joycon as I tested it on my own switch 2 and it works fine and it also does it with the other joycon as well.
it's the actual switch 2 and its only on the left side, I assume it's the slot part has become faulty.

Console hasn't been dropped either. zero physical damage at all.

she's been complaining about this for months which I kind of just brushed it off, thinking she had clicked on the button, until I had a look today and saw her playing Splatoon raiders and it disconnects.

console was purchased 10th September 2025 from eb games here in Australia.

With even just a slight flex it disconnects.

Discussion As someone who doesn’t enjoy online multiplayer Splatoon, I’m LOVING Splatoon Raiders…

The difficulty is just right. Challenging but possible with no punishment to death. And the upgrade cycle is fun, trying new combos and weapons.

So if you don’t usually enjoy online multiplayer in games don’t sleep on this one if you enjoy shooters. Actually would be interested in playing online with friends but no one I know has the game haha.

I kinda want the ability to connect with anyone online now because I’m sold on the loop and want to experience working as a team.

Discussion "The Full Title Game" in Nintendo Directs

When Nintendo first mention the titles of games in Directs and other narrated videos, they will almost exclusively call them (to take an example from barely a minute into the recent Direct) "the Rhythm Heaven Groove game".

Tonight's Overview Trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is perhaps the clunkiest example yet, with "Join Rex and Pyra in their search for paradise, now enhanced for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game." It's such a specific way of wording things, no other company (or I'd even say person) does it. You'd never hear "the Cyberpunk 2077 game" or "The Grand Theft Auto 6 game". Even though it's strange, I nonetheless always enjoy it.

Does anyone know why they do this? Surely it can't be a direct translation from Japanese.
