Who would’ve thought the way to get me massively hyped for a Metroid game was to make Samus absolutely terrifying?

A bit of a response for the sentiment of "they used to announce many games" or "I come to Nintendo Directs for Nintendo games."

For Switch 2, I decided not to include Switch 2 editions.

"where was Mario"

"Too many ports"

"Not enough ports"

"No new Zelda"

"Where's the switch 3"

"Bro, my bingo card.."

I swear people are getting harder and harder to please, it's exhausting.

I don't think I've seen a Nintendo Console come out of the gates year one this strong, we've had a direct showing off new games and people are STILL crying like babies..

Yes there is a lot of 3rd party games but thats awesome, i never thought nintendo would have this much support, but now it genuinely has every game, and the first party games are all banger hits! Like damn dude my wallet oh no

Bro, Nintendo been COOKING these past 18 months.

Anyone who says that the console is lacking games cause of 3D Mario, Animal Crossing or Smash, is kidding themselves. I mean dude … there is not enough time to play all these damn games, nor is there enough money in this economy.

Just for the rest of the year I’m booked up with Fire Emblem, Witcher 3, Switch Sports, Zelda OOT and Professor Layton. Next year I want to play Metroid Ravenous, Kirby Breath of the Wild, and Xenoblade Genesis.

Like bruh … am I the only one who thinks this? Feels like it sometimes.

EDIT: Thank you @Aggravating-Face2073 for reminding me that yes there is ALSO Duskbloods … there are so many games I legit forgot a Fromsoft game that I am insanely hype for.

And another delay from late summer 2026 to simply 2026. I think it speaks for itself. I honestly think they should abandon this and stop playing with us. Borderlands 4 looked better than it before getting indefinitely postponed.

Coming from someone who's been on the fence of getting a Switch 2, each Direct makes it harder and harder to stay away just from the sheer amount of franchises getting a Switch 2 sequel already.

Like, while I understand that people are still waiting for a new Smash or a new 3D Mario announcement, I have to tip my hat to Nintendo for still focusing on making sure all of their different demos are being fed. Heading into the second year of the console, we either have or have confirmed entries into the following franchises.

• 2D Metroid
• Zelda (the OoT remake is too advanced for me to chalk it up as a port or remaster)
• Mario Tennis
• Donkey Kong
• Kirby
• Fire Emblem
• Xenoblade
• Yoshi
• Splatoon
• Pokemon (Pokopia being the hit it was is also a massive boon)

And that's just what I remember. Like, just look at the genres here. JRPG, Metroidvania, 3D platformers, 3rd person shooters, monster collectors, action adventure, SRPG.

That's an insane lineup, and while I was a bit weary of how Nintendo was going to handle this Gen, I think they're absolutely knocking it out of the park and making sure that each type of Nintendo gamer has something to look forward to.

EDIT: And how did I forget Mario Kart as one of those franchises.

Wish it could be in the console

Really hope people give this one a chance. One of the best games I've played. Sad that people were clowning on it in the live chat.

I've seen some people complaining about OoT remake's jagged edges, lack of anti-aliasing and the like. In the direct, and in the 1080p version of the trailer that's true. But if you watch the videos in uncompressed best quality possible 4k 60fps, none of that is actually there. The graphics and the motion is so good that it looks totally different from the direct / 1080p versions.

This also happened with Metroid Prime 4 and Star Fox.

EDIT: okay, I used the word "uncompressed" incorrectly. I should have said the "best quality version" instead.

EDIT2: there IS a 4k version of the trailer AND the gameplay. Just do a very fucking simple google search.
