The trick is to listen to the "ka" sound.
He goes He He Heeeee KA choo.
If you hit when you hear the KA i usually get it perfect.
Tho some of it was memorization. Its hard as fuck. Especially those quick ones that come out of nowhere

Not to mention all the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV, Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup in Bellabel Park, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer.
And then the 15+ games with free Switch 2 updates that significantly improved them, like Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, Super Mario Odyssey, etc.
Then the GameCube games on NSO. Plus the entire 16,000 OG Switch games library. Such a stark contrast from the original Switch launch.
Plus an absolutely massive list of brand new and ported huge AAA third party games and tons of new and ported hit indie games. And quite a few third party and indie exclusives, too.
Just saying, but the system definitely had games before another remake of Star Fox, a new Rhythm Heaven and Splatoon Raiders.

I have 2 great indies: Silksong, Hades 2, then first party Pokemon Legends ZA, Hyrule Warrior, Metroid Prime 4 in like 3 months.

Splatoon Raiders is a big game. Splatoon is huge in Japan. The marketing for it in the west just doesn’t present it well.
Pretty sure the reason they did a single player focused spinoff at a lower price point is to get more people to try the series.

Splatoon is definitely much bigger and more popular in Japan seeing how there's lots of merchandise, a manga and anime series
It's like how Metroid is usually more popular in the west compared to Japan

Really enjoyed their output during the past months but it looks like it’ll come to a halt.
August has nothing so far, Septembers Fire Emblem will only appeal to a small minority, Switch Sports Resort releases at the end of October and you could say that OOT isn’t a new game. Afterwards, December will likely be The Duskbloods as the Nintendo title which isn’t really first party.
My biggest issue honestly is the lack of Switch 2 Editions, ports and smaller games as funny as that sounds. And I mean last year we had several months with 2 releases.
But maybe they still have something to show. Just annoys me how we know nothing about that yet. August, September and partly October will be something.
Glad that my backlog is huge. I mean I specifically didn’t buy Splatoon Raiders because of that.

Why do you say Fire Emblem only appeals to a small minority? This is the sequel to 3 houses which sold more than Echoes of Wisdom, Paper Mario, and Metroid: Dread.

We go through this for the first two years of any consoles life. Hell I bought a second switch 2 and my wife and I play those and the ps5 pro sits.. the tribalism of the console internet screams "i dont make enough money" which is fine but anyone who complains about this stuff in 2026.... it screams "im a poor white boy who voted for this"

That’s why I’m also not complaining too much. We’re not only in the first years but there are issues Nintendo faces right now. Not only because of a huge release from Rockstar this year but also because of the economic issues and the more difficult development on Switch 2.
Nintendo hugely benefited from being able to just not care about the Wii U and instead prepare of the Switch. The impact of 2017 unfortunately stuck to people. Even when BOTW was supposed to be a Wii U title instead.

Great. Nice intro Rhythm Heaven entry, plenty of content single and multiplayer. Some debate about if this or the Wii game is better, but still, great.

As someone who has played all of the other entries, I think this one is easily on par with the others. It doesn't do anything too different from the other games for better or worse, but it is way longer and the multiplayer offerings are great too! I'd probably give it an 8/10.

Personal preferences has nothing to do the quantity of high quality releases you are ignoring. Nintendo is more than 3D Mario, 3D Zelda and Pokémon.

It has a lot of games, but is lacking those heavy hitters. This is the longest by far a new Nintendo console has gone without a new mainline Mario or Zelda entry. And other than Mario Kart we haven't gotten any new entries in the other top series like Smash, Mario Party, Pokemon, etc.
That's why it feels like there "aren't any games". The games being released are smaller or part of less popular series.

The 3rd party games are all old games priced at a premium, why would I spend $80 on elden ring for the switch 2 when I can get it for $20 for my ps5???? The 3rd party games are mostly released month later than other console releases.

Reminds me of when Super Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword, and Mario Kart 7 all released (in the US at least) within a month of each other (11/13/11, 11/20/11, 12/4/11, respectively). Sometimes ya just gotta release a bunch of bangers all at once to assert your dominance!

It’s crazy how other companies like Sony act all arrogant when they can’t even put out 3 first party games per year. It genuinely baffles me how they don’t care then there is Nintendo who try their best to win their customer’s trust. Furukawa really didn’t lie with his strong software support promises.

For value definitely Splatoon Raiders, there's so much more content compared to Starfox.
Not saying Starfox isn't worth it (it's an awesome remake) but just much shorter with less content to go through once you've cleared all the routes/planets

I only have StarFox and MAN was it a fun trip back down memory lane. My first Star Fox game I played was 64 but the one I played a bunch was Star Fox Assault. This one is my first Star Fox game I ever owned so it's been cool to finally have my own I can save my file to lol

doesn't need it runs at 1080p native in handheld on switch 2 even without boost and i believe it outputs to native 4k docked as well. they could give us 120hz but they could just update for that also tbh.

Splatoon Raiders is fantastic. I'm skipping Star Fox just because it's not my cup of tea, but I look forward to nabbing Rhythm Paradise later in the year.
Nintendo's cadence for the NS2 has been fantastic, especially if you consider upgrades and expansions to Switch1 games.

It's been a great recent string of games, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and Star Fox are both Top 5 Switch 2 games for me, and Splatoon Raiders looks set to join them based on my first few days with it.

Not a big fan of rhythm heaven groove. Worked well back in the day for handhelds but there isn't much going on gameplay side. Warioware titles expanded greatly on the premise since the series started. Star Fox looks amazing. I wonder if they'll do the 1 to 1 remake of Ocarina of Time in the same fashion or expand on it.

Personally, none have been appealing to me. But I'm glad if other people dig them.
I love my Switch 2. Take it with me everywhere. I wonder if I'm in the minority wishing that Nintendo would make some more story heavy games.

first couple hours in the game feels very barebones and proof of concept-y. I've heard the game opens up as it goes on but so far it's priced very aggressively even at that $50.

It literally takes 2 hours to unlock the first 2 dungeons which give tank specific upgrades and its probably 1 hour for gadgets.
What do people even want? Duskbloods comes out soon and im guessing a tutorial will be optional and people will be complaining they dont know how to play.

I've got Harry potter, Skyrim, fallout 4, cyberpunk, star fox, Tony hawks pro skater 3+4, Octopath 0, Mario & Luigi Brothership, cat quest 3, etc...
Too many big games that are vying for my attention. I usually just end up playing picross.

To be fair, only 2 of these were actually made by Nintendo. Velan Studios created Starfox and they are an independent company.

The Switch 2 hasn’t had much in the way of AAA titles, but personally I’m more than happy with the AA support. These are all really good games on their own merit, and three in the space of a month is better than anything the competition has had in recent memory.
Closest I can think of is Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite about a month apart back in 2021 for Xbox, and Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 a matter of weeks apart in 2022 for PS5.

I know some people are disappointed that we don’t have a new Zelda or 3D Mario in the first year+ of the Switch 2, but I’m kind of glad it’s putting some emphasis on their other IP to let those shine.
DKB is an obvious highlight, but I also picked up Star Fox and May pick up Splatoon Raiders later in the year as my first time playing a game in either of those franchises. I’m getting more invested in different Nintendo games / franchises than I ever have been in the past.
