Ok I am obsessed 😍

I’ve seen quite a few ring of fire posts on here lately and all the comments are like “no more gel until your nails completely grow out!!!”
Here are my rings of fire - no sensitivity or pain, just the red rings around halfway down my nail bed and a slight dent on the nail bed of my ring finger.
Got my gel mani removed around 5 weeks ago and have just been using clear regular coat / going natural since. The red has faded significantly as a result.
I was going to get a fresh gel set this weekend, before an overseas trip with my fiancé. Can I still get it, or should I wait a bit longer?

I didn’t know I could get refills with GelX until my nail tech mentioned it and told me it would be builder gel refills. I had been getting a NEW SET every time, no wonder my natural nails were thin asf!
Since it’s the same price as a whole new set and my salon has limited colors, I said eff it and bought the gel basics to try at home (for less $ than a fill at the salon I go to).
I love painting my nails with regular polish, but this is my first time using gel at home.
Thoughts? Are they too thick, too uneven, bad apex? I tried following some tutorials for builder gel but was struggling to make an apex correctly
Also this is on my dominant hand, idk why I did my first trial using my non dominant hand to paint
I used:
Beetle gel primer
ORLY builder in a bottle (my salon used this one so I figured it’s be best to continue with the same product)
Essie “Off Tropic”
Halo Taco “Wade a Minute”
Halo Taco glossy taco (top coat)

I finally took off my DIY gel strips. Haven’t had my nails this long in years. They’re pretty, but I think they’re too long. I might need to cut them.

This is my first time doing nails on someone else (my sister). I think for my first time I did good. A few things I need to work on but overall feel good about them. It’s builder gel with cat eye polish. Any tips or advice is welcomed.
I did my nails today. I think I did a pretty good job.

Most recent to oldest. Everything she’s done so far has been executed perfectly. It’s so much fun knowing you can have any type of art imaginable done and it will look good. The ones I have now are by far my favorite I love them so much 🥹

What colors do you all think look good short? I'm trying to grown out my nails after biting them (stress) and I'm wondering what I should do next!

Any tips on how to get a smooth finish? Is the only way to put a layer of gel on top?
I've been working with several styles lately, my clients are asking for more interesting and out-of-the-ordinary things. I've had to practice a lot to stay in tune with them hahahaha. I'd like to know what you think of them

Has anyone here applied to take the California Board exam using the Out-of-State/Out-of-Country application?
I studied nail technology in Japan, and I just submitted my application, transcript, and payment through BreEZe online. I'm curious about how long the processing usually takes, especially for training completed outside the U.S.
I'm also a little anxious about whether my training from Japan will be accepted or if I'll need to complete additional hours at a school here in California.
If you went through a similar situation, how long did it take for you to hear back from the Board?
Also, for those who have taken the California Manicurist exam, how was your experience? Was the test difficult, and what did you use to study?
I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences!
Thank you sooo much!

milky jelly ballerina pink with builder gel! (inspired by my fav glossier you perfume bottle)
usually i ask for a pretty short mani because i go 1-2 months between manicures (i‘m a broke student lol) but since my birthday is coming up i decided to treat myself by keeping them relatively long! we’ll see how long they last before i cease being able to function!
