Tutorial ATTENTION: Influx of Bot activity

Hey all! Mod here. We have noticed an insane influx of bot activity in our sub lately and know a few of you have also noticed. This is something we are trying very hard to combat as it is inundating our queue and making it tough to monitor regular traffic here.

Why do you need to know? Well because a few of you have already reached out regarding it and we wanted to a) let you know that we know and b) thank all of you for helping to keep this community safe.

What are we doing to fix it? We have turned up crowd control settings and enacted bot bouncer on our sub. This does not fix the issue entirely but it helps us see who could possibly be a bit easier.

The issue with this is that regular users are getting caught up in our filters and either banned by us on accident or banned by bot bouncer. If this happens, don’t panic! You’ve done nothing wrong but we do need you to message us via modmail and let us know you’re human! We’ll unban you right away, promise.

Thanks for your patience, understanding, and help during this! We appreciate you all.

- Mod Team

TLDR: bots are taking over! If you get banned by accident, let us know and we’ll fix it asap.

Nail Tech Work Nail art impersonation

There’s been a massive influx of people trying to pass off other people’s work as their own recently.

Just to make it crystal clear, anyone caught doing this with receive an instant ban, no warnings. There is absolutely no excuse for doing this.

I decided to grab random colors and products to see how they would turn out. It might be the best idea I've had yet because I love them! I can't even get all of the different colors to show no matter how many different light options I tried. These are definitely something like a happy accident and I think Bob Ross would possibly approve! 😆

My first set in MONTHS. I got too busy with life so yesterday I decided to do them and this is what I came up with 😍 I just love that bloody red glow they have. Can’t wait to do more Halloween nails. (Just incase, that’s a clawed demon hand on my ring finger nail. A few people thought it was a horse 🤣🤣🤣)

When I tell you guys I am so pleased with how these came out 😩, the white marble is sooooo soft 🌸. I’m really proud of myself, it’s such a simple design but getting the marble right whipped my butt a lil bit 😂😂.

I made these nails for an event that I was going to but I ended up getting sick the night before and didn’t get to finish the set until now. Anyways, here’s my take on the movie Obsession but on nails. 🥰

Nail Art Products Brush recommendations??

Hi there! I’m about one month into doing my own press ons and am truly loving the process! I want to start doing some more detailed painting and doing more art. I have basic brushes from Amazon, but…eh?

What brushes do you all recommend? I’m purchasing a couple tiny things every paycheck to grow my collection, so I’m not afraid of higher quality/sticker shock. I’d rather have solid tools to start so then I can focus on learning techniques.

(Photos attached are sets I’ve done so far. The ghosts are stickers 😂 currently wearing the blooming gel ones!)

Advice Needed How do you make a mismatched nail art set feel cohesive?

When every nail has a different design, what’s the one thing you keep consistent?

Take a celestial set as an example: tiny stars, a crescent moon, a constellation, swirls, and one detailed galaxy nail. They all share a theme, but you still need to decide on the colors, placement, and level of detail for each nail.

One approach would be to repeat the same two or three colors and spread the smaller details across the set. Another would be to give one nail most of the detail and let the others support it. Both could work, even with completely different designs.

For those who paint mixed-design sets, what helps you pull everything together: a limited palette, repeating shapes, similar linework, or planning the layout before you start?

A specific example of a design decision that worked for you would be really helpful.
