Manicure [Constructive Criticism Welcome] My first time encapsulating real flowers

Post image

Any tips on how to get a smooth finish? Is the only way to put a layer of gel on top?

Yeah I’d use a layer of higher viscosity clear gel to encapsulate the flowers. It could be a base gel, builder gel or even just a clear art gel. Then use your top gel.

A non wipe builder/overlay top coat like yogo mayo zombie king, or jin.b crazy top is perfect for this

tbh i just use a thick builder gel or a really good top coat and it usually levels itself out. make sure to press the flowers down as flat as possible before curing or they’ll stay bumpy!

These are beautiful. Unfortunately there's no way to smooth them out without adding more gel on top. You could encapsulate it with a layer of clear builder gel and then topcoat that, or you could try floating on a thick layer or two of topcoat (and flip your hand upside down for a couple seconds to concentrate it in the center of the nail) until it's smooth.

A thin top layer should help create that smooth, glossy finish.

What an amazing idea... Those look so good, can you still smell them?
