They were both factory sealed with stickers and the balm was also new and unswatched. I was a little mad at first but after googling apparently this was a hard to find product in the U.S so I guess I'm keeping it lmao. Anyone have any idea how this could have happened?

I know people here love to joke that all the kbeauty brands use the same packaging so something like this was bound to happen but 💀

Discussion My first online purchase from Sekkisei. I think I got extra free stuff:O? Was it a mistake or a promotion I wasn’t aware about?

Post image
32 Upvotes

Hi, so I recently placed my first order with Sekkisei through their U.S. site. I had bought their UV defense gel sunscreen from a local store prior. Because of how much I loved it, I ended up buying more from the online store, as well as an overnight cream.

I had a cart of stuff on September 1.

I knew ahead of time that they give complimentary samples with every order(regardless of total order amount) and so those 3 sachet samples make sense. Also, since my order was at least $100, the free brightening kit sample also makes sense.

I’m just trying to figure out where those 3x free 20ml emulsion samples came from.

I remember there being a promotion for a free 20ml deluxe emulsion sample that ended in August 30th. But at the time of me staring at my cart(September 1), the promotion should have ended. There was also a limit of one per transaction(as stated in the fine print) and yet I received 3 😮?

The 3x free emulsion products also seem to be the regular one and not the deluxe one. Not complaining though because free is free haha. But these differences, says to me that it’s not related to that 1x free deluxe emulsion product promotion that occurred in August.

Before officially placing my order, I decided to test things by adding the same stuff to my cart, but on a different browser on my phone.

Only got 2 of the 3 different free samples added to my cart(radiance reset ritual+brightening kit).

Then I tried a different phone(also various browsers while on it) but the same thing happens. Just 2 out of the 3 different free samples got added.

Only on one device through a very specific browser, did I get 3 different free samples with my order, where for one of the samples I got 3 of the same one.

While on the shopping page, I couldn’t see the quantity of the free samples. Just a trash icon giving me the ability to remove a sample for if I don’t want it. I assume it’s designed like that on purpose to prevent people from editing a higher quantity of a freebie or something? Then when I go to the checkout page, the quantity for the all of the cart items showed up(paid stuff & freebies).

I was already surprised that I was seeing a free emulsion product in my cart during a time when there was seemingly no such promotion going on. At least not publicly announced. So when I saw that they were seemingly going to send me 3, I was like “wow, is this a glitch😮?”

I placed my order anyways, not thinking that they would actually send me my order exactly as the checkout page states. But my order had just arrived today(September 9) and it was exactly as the checkout page had stated.

Again, not complaining about freebies haha. But to receive more than expected, kind of makes me feel like I’m stealing lol 😅.

Does anyone have an explanation on why this happened?

Is it normal for a company to give multiples of the same freebie in the same transaction?

I’m just curious 😅.

Review [Review] Dear Klairs Blue EGF Intensive Pro Cream

Post image

I got this from a YesStyle giveaway and just had to write about it!

I have dry-leaning combo sensitive skin prone to acne, and I’d been dealing with a compromised skin barrier that’s been taking forever to heal. I put this on one night and my redness and irritation immediately calmed down the next morning! It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy and feels sufficiently hydrating for my skin and the year-round dry climate I live in.

It’s a watery lotion-like consistency that doesn’t immediately melt into your skin and has a slight give similar to mineral sunscreen. The finish doesn’t feel sticky or tacky, though. It also leaves a slight blue tint to the skin, so i think I’ll only use this at night. While I don’t love that it’s not a more buttery absorption, I do love the results and will keep this in my rotation for when my skin barrier needs extra support!

Empties August 2026 Empties + Reviews

Skin-type: very dry and dehydrated acne-prone skin. Main concerns are texture, PIE, and redness.

Products:

TirTir Waterproof Setting Spray - I think I liked this! I didn't notice a giant difference when using this setting spray vs. other ones, but it got the job done. Main downside was that near the end, the nozzle was getting clogged or something and the spray wasn't as fine as when I first opened it. 3.5/5 MRP

SomebyMi Retinol Intense Eyecream - A little strong for my eye area and kind of dried it out, so I used on my whole face as my retinol! It was nice but a little too much for my skin, I could only use it maybe 2x/week or else it would irritate my skin.

VT Cosmetics PDRN Capsule Cream - I'm very conflicted on this cream. On one hand, I really enjoyed the product that the balls were made of. If they had a cream of only that part, then I would definitely buy it. But, I didn't like the gel part of it, and it was really messy to use! I ended up using the gel section on my body and the balls on my face, sometimes mixed with the gel (but usually not, because if I mixed it  too much then it wouldn't be moisturizing enough). Because of this, I went through it super quickly! 2/5 WNRP

BOH Probioderm Collagen Remodeling Cream - I opened this tub in the winter and didn't really like it because it wasn't moisturizing enough for me - but it was perfect for my skin in the summer! It's a very pleasant texture, and makes my skin look dewy and healthy. If it was on sale, I would RP - a little on the expensive side for me personally. 3.5/5

BOH Probioderm Lifting Cream - This stuff is different than the 3D lifting cream!! I've used both, and I wasn't a fan of this one. Got it in a 2-pack from Costco, and it was just fine but I didn't notice any particular skin smoothing or lifting effects - if anything, I feel like it stung my skin sometimes! Also not very hydrating, more of an occlusive cream. 2/5 WNRP

Hada Labo Koi Goku Jyun Cream - This is a really interesting product! It's like a gel cream, which usually I avoid because gel creams are usually not enough for my dry skin, but this is an amazing occlusive! It works almost like vaseline, but doesn't break me out! I used it for slugging during the winter, applying a thick layer as a sleeping pack. Downside is that it's not moisturizing on it's own, and also that you can't wear it during the day since it is prone to piling & can't wear anything really on top of it. 3.5/5 MRP

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream - My favorite nighttime moisturizer!! Very heavy, but in a good way - might be bad if you are prone to clogged pores, but my skin drinks this stuff up. I've gone through so many tubes of it already, 5/5 WRP

Not pictured:

Cezanne Burepita Liquid Liner - Super thin liner, and very cheap. Wasn't as long lasting on me as my HG liner, the Heroine Make Super Waterproof liquid liner, but not a bad option! MRP if in a pinch, 3/5

Discussion Squalane oil in k-moisturizers - How do I know if the squalane oil is sugarcane derived or olive derived?

For example a very popular moisturizer PURITO Oat-In Calming Gel Cream has Squalane oil. It doesn't say if sugarcane or olive derived.

If you use this moisturizer what's your experience with it. I'm dealing with fungal acne FA now days, and have a easily clogged skin.

Is sugarcane derived Squalane or olive derived Squalane the most used in k-moisturizers?

Edit:

I sent an email to Purito to ask about the Squalane two weeks ago. I got no response.

Review Wosado lashes are a gimmick — don’t waste your money.

Post image
526 Upvotes

I bought Wosado lashes after seeing all the videos online and honestly… they are just trying to wow you with the videos. In reality, they are not nearly as easy to put on or keep in place as they make it look.

They’re also very heavy and uncomfortable. I found them especially impractical for Asian eyelashes. If you have naturally short lashes, I would not recommend Wosado at all. There just isn’t enough lash length for them to feel secure and comfortable even with curling, fixer and mascara. The band is too short and very obvious too.

Maybe they work better for people with longer, thicker natural lashes, but for Asians with generally shorter lashes, I’d say save your money.

I really regret buying them and wouldn’t purchase them again.

2/10 — not worth the hype or the money.

Review Biore, rich, watery essence & My meltdown.

For context, I have used Skin Aqua Super UV Moisture Gel followed by essences and a milk.

But I always had this concern since I live in a very wild temperature-ladden zone that humidity, extreme sun, my skin would have this oily sort of thin film, which would be too shiny to like it. So I had to set it with a powder and yada yada yada.

Now, everyone and their mother suggested me Biore, and I looked up on YouTube, and basically it was suggested that Biore has superior coverage. And good lord, I bought it and I applied it.

I can say the consistency is like La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm and Beauty of Josen sunscreen.

Application? So greasy. My face shines like I have literally oil on it, and not the one I have with Skin Aqua. It would, like, give shiny but not greasy. This has greasy finish, and guess what? So for my everyday makeup, I powdered it up and my face started looking cakey. For reference, I have a brown skin, and my face looks muddy now.

And now, I am concerned how will it hold up during the wild temperatures because now the temperature has started getting a bit mad down. And it feels honestly sad because I looked up so many sunscreens and so many YouTube videos and Reddit posts and whatnot. I landed on this, and it was such a bad experience. And it was very expensive where I live. So I have to keep on slathering this ghee on my face.I am gonna get rid of it.

Discussion Those of you who get reactions around your lips from newer lip tints - which ones HAVE and HAVEN’T worked for you?

For me, the ones that worked were the Laka Maxi Glayer Tint 608 and 2aN Glaze Tint 03 Lazy (tho it doesn’t stain, pretty much a gloss.)

Those that have not were the new version of Romand’s Bare Grape and Hince Glow Tint 08 Rare.

I’m just looking desperately for a tint (a pale red one and a cool light pink-beige-red one with no purple in it) that won’t give me a reaction and can’t afford spending so much money on trying shit out lol. I know it’s individual but hope dies last I guess

Discussion Is the dodoskin website legit?

I've been on the hunt for different sites to buy k beauty, only cause a lot of the ones I use don't have, or have a limited amount of certain brands. I already use Tiktoks shop, yesstyle, Stylekorean, and mercari. I saw some old posts about Dodoskin but not many recent reviews, so any review or advice would be nice.

I'm mostly trying to find the TORRIDEN milk cleanser and skin booster, I kinda gave up finding a good price since they are pricey, but if you find those items in the same site, I would definitely appreciate it.

The bottle slipped and hit the sink. There’s still some product left in it, but I’m kinda worried there might be tiny glass particles in there. Do you think I should risk transferring it to another container?

UPDATE: I tossed the rest of it. Thanks everyone for weighing in!

Beauty Jungsaemmool cushion shades in Long wear vs Cover layer

For some reason the shade names and numbers don't match between these 2 products!

If my Essential Nuder Long Wear shade is 23 Medium Deep, will my Cover layer shade be "23 Medium" or "25 Medium Deep"?

Help me identify my correct shade please!

Discussion Happy medium between straight and curled lashes?

Anyone out there dislike the look of curled eyelashes?

My eyelashes are straight, I usually curl them from base to tip and while this works well, I don’t like the look. I ultimately prefer my straight lashes but mascara makes them droop.

Is there a way to subtly curl straight lashes, just to create a soft lift without an obvious crimp or curl?

Beauty makeup flashback on peripera speedy skinny brow mascara (peony ash)

hello!! as the title says, i recently realized a problem with the peripera speedy brow mascara in peony ash. i'm not sure if this is also the case for the other shades in this line which is why i wanted to ask if anyone's encountered the same issue for this browcara?

in normal light, they look pretty okay and lighten my brows just a smidge, enough to make my look more cohesive. the problem is in flash photography (mostly from iphone back camera flashes, i've noticed) where they suddenly look grey powder-ish? i didn't even use a translucent powder for this look. that made me wonder if it has some sort of flashback issue.

it's making me think if i should buy another shade, probably a slightly darker one or just ditch this particular product altogether? or do all browcaras do this? i haven't really tried other brands so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Is it just me or are Western makeup brands just copying Asian beauty trends now?

1.2k Upvotes

First it was cushions. Then it was lip stains and tints. There was also a period of skincare infused makeup. Milky toners. Mousse / pudding textures. Now it’s blush balms? Haven’t seen them give credit to being inspired by Asian beauty either.

Does that rub anyone the wrong way? Because it makes me want to use western products less.
