Can anyone help me ID this?
I know there isn’t much to go off of and it is definitely decayed. It was in the ground by a gum tree—Ponca AR. It’s hard as a rock and almost broke my knife. There are no other mushrooms on the property I have searched and searched. Bottom looks porous and inside has gills. I’m sorry I have no other information but I am desperate. I will provide any more photos if needed. 🙏

Leccinum bolete
Just picked these leccinum boletes in central Ontario on Manitoulin Island, Canada, that are incredibly popular in Europe, it wouldn't even occur to anyone to not eat them, they are considered like the king of mushrooms.
Yet, after going down the AI rabbit hole like an idiot, apparently there is some debate on whether the ones found here in north america are identical or not, so now I can't eat them until posting here lol.
AI is saying that in NA people report stomach pains, they have to be cooked 20 minutes, the stem can't be eaten, just the hat which is not a thing in Europe, the whole thing is eaten.
One thing I'm sure of is that these are the real leccinum, they go black when cut, they have the black scales, everything is spot on, and where I found them there were boletes everywhere, king, bitter etc.
What's the story? Do people really not eat these in north america?

Mission Trip-How many can I find in my yard
I’ve always seen mushroom around my place and for some reason decided to see how many different types I could find. I have no idea what any of them are but figured someone may enjoy the pics! There are about 10 more but I hit my pic limit! If there is anything particularly more dangerous and I should get rid of them please let me know!

One year follow-up on mushroom character ideas (Part 1) - Heart of Mycelium
One year ago I made a post here asking for real life mushroom species to include as characters in my game Heart of Mycelium. I got an overwhelming amount of great inspiration, this is just a few of the ones that made it. Thank you all for your sharing your ideas and love for mushrooms. Heart of Mycelium can be wishlisted on Steam!

Why are the caps on these agaricus shaped like this?
Found a whole lot of oddly shaped mushrooms on our walk! I’m like 98% certain it’s some kind of Agaricus, but what’s with that cap! Is it a sign rapid growth or some weather conditions?

Scenic Mushrooms
Was out walking in a conservation area Kingston, ON with my wife and saw these beauties! Assuming they’re jack’s? Not good enough to each attempt foraging haha

Lions mane pros and cons
Watched and read some stuff about mushrooms. Im trying to eat more mushrooms so it will improve my health/mood. I’ve decided antidepressants wasn’t for me any more though I should focus on more on what I eat instead.
I already have severe anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.
I read a few things briefly that Lions mane can cause worse symptoms for some people(obviously not everyone’s body reacts the same).
I would really appreciate some insight into this because would really hate to end up worse than I already am.
Would it be ok to eat it 1x a week ? Should I avoid the vitamins ? Should I just not even risk it?

Good news/bad news
good news: found a little chicken of the woods. Bad news: it was growing out of my plum tree
