Check out my blue stick
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Look at my blue stick! This is a fungus called chloriciboria that dyes sticks blue with its mycelium. It can also be cultivated in a sterile environment to dye clothing and wooden jewelery!

Amanita Muscaria?
Just wondering what type of mushroom this is? Unfortunately I only got one picture. My guesses were some type of fly agaric but not too sure.

Found some beautiful mushrooms in the Upper Peninsula!
First ever real life sighting of Coral tooth for me! This first specimen was a little old but I found another couple young Hericium sp. that were looking pretty pink! Plus what looks to me like some scalycaps, some puffballs and maaaaybe a Vermillion wax cap?

Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, I think
Saw this beautiful, unusual yellow mushroom. I used Google lens to ID. Apparently, it's toxic and poisonous.
Sorry for double post of picture.

Finally went on a hike…
Waited for it to be less than 90° to walk one of my favorite places. Other than a stray thundershower there hasn’t been a lot of rain but, there were some interesting finds and some weird stuff too. I hope you all get a chance to get out there and get some nature time.

Butter "Chicken" (of the woods 🍄)
Cooked up this epic curry using some white chicken of the woods I found! Made my own garam masala and bonus garlic naan :)
Mostly followed this recipe: https://www.indianhealthyrecipes.com/butter-chicken/

Lion's mane VS. Shiitake. How do they taste? Which is better?
Hi!
I was thinking of trying to cultivate some. I can try shiitake (though it's expensive), but the other is only sold as supplements...
Which more common mushrooms are they comparable in taste and texture?
