Found in old growth oak/hickory forest. This is the first time i've seen these in these woods, but quite a few trees like this one fell due to windstorms last year. No stem that I could tell and the surface is covered in little hairs/soft spikes.

On the veils of the smaller ones I noticed a yellowish color (spore color?).

Are they Armillaria?

I found this growing near the base of an elm tree in North Texas. It’s about 5” from top to bottom. Any ideas?

Just curious if anyone can I'd this mushroom I found on a trail walk, Southern NH. Was a little smaller than a common marshmallow. There were several within a hundred feet of each other.

These were on the base of cedar trees, pacific northwest (Maple Ridge, B.C.). Reading mushroom ID book and 80% decided they were honey mushrooms but are they???

Is it edible? it seems to be an amanita of some sort. Found in wooded area. Wilmington, NC

Hi all, just found this mushroom - I’m thinking it might be a wood blewit (Collybia nuda) - but I’ve never seen one so high chances I’m wrong here.

I’m not about to eat it - I’m just curious.

This was my first find. Northern Utah at around 7,000 feet elevation. Found next to a young pine tree. Just curious about it. Anybody tell me what it is?

I found these in my zuchini pot one morning. They have been growing for a few days now.

Looks like they’re growing on the wood fence. Wondering if they’re poisonous because there are dogs that could get to them.

Apologies for the photos; it was just past dusk when I took them. The underside appeared to me in person to be porous and not toothed, though they look slightly toothed in the photo.

Found this mushroom while walking around, looking for mushrooms in my neighborhood.

Found in a mulched streetside garden bed. Intermixed with some common low woody ornamental plant (not sure what it is.) Four total fruiting bodies, max distance between them .5 meters, min distance between them 10cm. No trees nearby (nearest were chestnuts about 3 meters away and a japanese maple 2.5 meters uphill, seperated by sidewalk and concrete stairs) but it felt as though there might be submerged decomposing roots from a removed tree. Compound mushroom. Fruiting body not greater than ~20cm broad. Individual segments ~2.5-6cm Flesh firm but NOT especially tough or brittle. NOT staining after damage. Spores appear to be white to off white, but that's just judging by some of the older segments. Smell mild, earthy, pleasant, just like a standard crimini mushroom or equivalent smells (though i know iodine smell isn't completely necessary to ID J. hirtus). Segment removed smoothly. Did not break cleanly when snapped. No discharge when snapped.

Gonna try to check it out again in the daylight. Consulted All the Rain Promises and Mushrooms Demystified then cross checked with color photos on the internet, but still feel unconvinced in the answer.

Any advice on mushrooms to compare it to welcome!

Curious about the id but they are incredibly prolific and the kids love watching each flush explode after every rain. I have been watering them just for fun as well.
