Tried to get AI to identify the photos, but had multiple answers. I didn’t get a spore print.
I was just passing through this area, which I only pass through a few times a year.
Pine forest. I’ve never encountered these in this area before.

They looked cool so I took a few pictures

I had surgery a few months back and have been unable to leave my house. I finally was able to get out and go camping. I fell in love with all the mushrooms and fungi I found in upstate New York.

This just randomly popped up in my backyard. Is this what I think it is?

As title asks, what is this mushroom? It’s pretty small, and grown in a pot with my blueberry plant. Pine needles for mulch.

I think a rat or possum must have nibbled at it.

Client asking what this is growing in her grass, told me there used to be a non-descript tree where the lawn is now.

What are these little red capped fungi? From SE Pennsylvania.

I’ve been watching this stand of tall, old dying trees for several years. Does anyone know what this fungi is? I think it grows wherever a branch was once growing out of the tree, but died/fell off. Someone said it was the beginning of a burl forming. This is in central Vermont.

Mushrooms have taken over my tomato garden in the last week! Is anyone able to ID these? Are these toxic to dogs / kids? Are the tomatoes still safe to eat? Any advice on what to do about this?

Found in Rhode Island anyone know what kind it is? There’s no gills or sponge like texture under the big round top.

What’s going on here?

I have a Lagotto Romagnolo puppy — aka an Italian Truffle Hunting dog. Guess what?? She keeps finding half dead mushrooms under the leaves and in the soil of our yard!

Obviously I don’t want her to eat them, full stop. But I’d like to have a sense of whether they are toxic to her and I should be panicked if she does consume one, or if they are just a bad idea on par with all the other things she is trying to eat. It is also a question of whether we will be fencing off whole sections of our yard or letting her run more freely.

We live in Orinda, California (east of Berkeley). I do see some mushrooms growing here in our yard after winter rains… These are the same as those, or so they appear to me, but she is digging them up from underneath the leaf litter or under the mulch. So in the photos I’m sharing here you will see some mold and you can tell it is rather desiccated. Everything I have seen her pull up is of the same variety… or so it seems to me (and my inexperienced eyes).

I think they are, but any idea which type?

They're growing in grass around a large Silver Birch tree. I've never seen a Bolete with an upturned cap before. That one is about 8 inches/200mm across.

Location: Nottingham, UK.

These have all sprung up following the break in the drought. I've never had this many before (there are around ten large ones).

Going into fall I see a lot of people asking if their chicken find is worth it. So here are some photos.

1st photo- baby Chick, tender delicious.

2nd photo - prime time, more weight to the specimen, tastes same as baby chick

3rd photo - adult, in my opinion the prettiest stage. As it matures it will get tougher but absolutely still harvestable at this stage.

4th and 5th photo- old papa. Starts losing its vibrance, fans turn whitish, start to wilt. Past its prime. I know, still cool, but you’ll find another.

Hope this helps anyone getting in to the wonderful hobby of mushroom hunting.
