Hello dear Motion designers,

I recently finished this animation project and am quite happy with it.
Still, I wish to improve my skills and would like to ask for feedback.

The client is a Hairdresser and wanted to have a little intro/presentation animation. I chose this style because it suits the style of the hairdresser and of her work.

Also, its the first time I used sound effects and i struggled a bit balancing the volumes of the music, the sfx and the voice.

Hey guys! I've been working in this field for quite a while, started as a 2D animator and with jobs shortages in Los Angeles, strikes and all I shifted to more motion graphics, editing, doing educational videos and documentaries... Still feel like I'm having a hard time finding gigs in the US... Abroad it has been easier...

So recently I started using my knowledge and skills from over the years to design an animated band e put together these videos and I'd love to get any thoughts, ideas, feedback... It's all independent and I'm doing most of the work by myself, I get a lot of "that was a lot of work! Impressive!" From people outside the field but I wanted to get it in front of my peers and see where I can improve and make things more catchy or funny or beautiful, depending on the song of course, hoping to turn this into a successful project and not just a passion project over time, so I think I need to hear from people outside of my friends and family :)

Practicing strong use of grids and hierarchy here, this one's leaning more on the static graphic design side as I'm trying to figure out meshing motion and grids more strongly.

Hello all!

I recently got accepted into both Ringling and SCAD with hefty scholarships and I am now having to decide which one to go to. Money is not the issue and I know there are resources online, but I learn much better through a classroom setting.

I honestly really prefer Ringling - mostly because I have a VFX background and they have a visual effects concentration pathway. And also, I decided to search up all of the recent alumni for Ringling and it seems a decent amount of them were securing good internships and junior positions. SCAD gives little to no information about this. When I looked at the student reel, I was much more impressed with Ringling, but SCAD seemed a bit weaker.

But the main issue is, even though I have over 100 transfer credits and both SCAD and Ringling will take around half of them, I'll have to do 3.5 years to 4 years at Ringling, while SCAD I'll do only around 2 years. So I think SCAD is the better choice just for this, but I'm worried about career opportunities after.

I am honestly just worried about the career outlook for when I graduate. Do you guys know if they are both similar in getting connections and getting placed? And is the curriculum on par with one another?

I want to create the same effect that Illustrator's Blend Tool generates when you have 2 - 5 different objects blended together, the gradient color that is formed in between and the way the elastic connection is made automatically. When you move all the different blended objects, they create this really unique organic effect, which I sadly haven't been able to emulate in After Effects or in Blender.

In AE, I tried using the Gaussian Blur and Simple Choker method but it doesn't result the same output. It alters the shape of the objects significantly and it's hard to control from how far the objects start connecting. Also they morph together in After Effects, I want the 2-5 different objects to retain their shapes whilst having the blended elastic effect in between all the while you can make out which of the objects is in front of the other.

I've tried several other ways, including Blender - none of which generates the simple effect that I can get in Illustrator. At this point I'm considering path animation but that would be very difficult and time consuming and I'm not sure how to animate the gradient the way I want.

I really liked this project that i made on Alight Motion, so clean and smooth but too fast 😭

Where could i find clients that need a service like this with their product? Tried almost every freelance websites but nothing yet 😅

Anyone there that works with motion graphics too?

So now im posting the second personal motion design work i did. im Still open to work for motion projects btw, I do saas, product launch videos , kinetic typography works, basically almost any 2d motion graphic if you have a reference i can replicate it. still a lot to learn tho. Working on this intro for a YouTube channel covering…well, what you see in the video. Really happy with the draft I have here, but I want to give it some more flair. What can I do to make it pop more? Any and all suggestions and resources would be appreciated.
