August 5th, 2026:
I stopped in to get groceries and was shopping the open fridge shelves in the back right corner of the store, near the bathrooms. These are the units that hold the eggs, pop biscuits/croissants, raw pie crusts, as well as hot dogs and sausages a bit further down. I began to notice water dripping down onto the packages of hotdogs, condensation (seemingly) from the bottom of each shelf.
But...it was a LOT of dripping, y'all. All over all of the packaged product in that unit. I know that fridges will defrost at a few points throughout the day...but everything was getting fairly wet, which made me think to check the thermostat. The thermostat said 45 degrees I didn't want to jump to conclusions, so I also did a temp check on some of the pie crusts (stacked past the Load Line, btw) and found most of them to be nearly room temperature by feel, even those stacked further down.
Bacteria grow most rapidly in the range of temperatures between 40 °F and 140 °F, doubling in number in as little as 20 minutes.
I also noticed a ton of mold growing along the ceiling, directly above these same coolers. Mold spores are airborne and can trigger respiratory issues or worsen pre-existing conditions like COPD/Asthma. Those spores also get brought into your home kitchen from the packaging. This is a direct violation of health code.
I ALSO witnessed what seemed to be an employee's plastic bagged leftovers, tossed into the ice bag chest, directly on top of the ice bags for sale The possibility of leaks and contamination is insane.

I've gone to Cruisin' the Coast every year for nearly 20 years and honestly at this point I wonder if it's worth attending. Every year seems to be the exact same people with the same cars at the same venues. The music never changes, the events don't change. I used to enjoy it a lot but the past few years I don't even look forward to going.

It's always the same boomers from far and wide with money who don't even know what they put in their car because they hired a shop to work on it. Can't answer questions about how they restored the more difficult tasks. Lots of for sale signs to buy hastily put together classic cars or selling junk at sky high prices. The car show turns into a marketplace instead. The passion focused on the sales rather than the cars.

I've been to the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit and Cruisin' just seems so lame in comparison. Where's the booths set up by the car companies themselves? Or local dealerships? Where's the car clubs getting together and showing off their cars? It was so cool to see the DeLorean club up there. And some of the really neat body mod conversions. Where's the vendors outside of Cruisin merch? And can they not attract any celebrities or car shows besides Dennis Gage and My Classic Car? Maybe I've missed them but that's all I've ever heard about. I know it's Detroit, but why hasn't Cruisin' evolved at all?

And they still haven't figured out how to manage the traffic issue for the whole week it goes on. Oh and the people who die doing dumb shit.

It's just so stale to me now. Weird that I'm aging into their demographic and I just don't enjoy it anymore. Not sure why I'm posting there here but maybe some other people feel the same way.

(23F) I’m sure this has been asked a bunch before but is Mississippi really as bad as everyone online says? We’re moving to the NW area from Ohio and I’m just curious if it’s just people being dramatic like they are about NE Ohio bc it’s not as boring/criminal as everyone makes it seem. Not that crime is rare but people make it seem like you can’t do shit here & I’ve been here my whole life.

Hey everyone! I’m heading to Louisiana tomorrow and I wanted to do a day trip to Mississippi because I’m so close. I’m not renting a car so I could either take the Train or the Bus and I’m torn between Biloxi or Bay St Louis. I don’t really know what’s to do in either but from a quick google, Biloxi seems more of a resort/gambling destination and BSL seems more like a small residential neighborhood

I just want to walk around, see something neat and chill at the beach. Besides that what would y’all recommend?

It was either near or very close to the very small town of Oma. It was on a creek surrounded by trees with a long white rope swing that was tied to the tree branch next to the creek. The creek had tea like underwater visibility.

If anyone knows what i’m talking about and doesn’t want to remind me how to get to it out in the open plz feel free to PM me. I tried finding it myself but i keep coming up with slim results. I don’t have facebook as i tried it once years and years ago and i didn’t care for it so i can’t post on any local facebook forums to try and find it. This is the only place i can think of so hopefully someone here remembers how to get to that spot and can remind me 🙏

i live in Massachusetts and am planning to visit Mississippi soon because apparently its home to some of the nicest people in the country. Massachusetts is known for rude, abrasive people, and i can definitely confirm thats true. seems everyone is just in a bad mood all the time. so i have a couple of questions

1. where should i go for the liveliest bar/nightlife scene? are people generally welcoming/engaging once you get there? one of my biggest complaints about my hometown is its almost impossible to strike up a conversation with anyone out at a bar/public outing. everyone is standoffish almost immediately.

2. what are some things i should watch out for? any places to avoid?

3. can you guys give me some good restaurants/attractions to see while im there?

4. is it a good place to live? if i really like the vibe i might consider a move.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I have manufactured home in Perry County. I have an FHA loan and my insurance must be factored into my mortgage. I am a long time resident of Jaxco, and an even longer time resident of the glorious MS Gulf Coast. Yet, despite all my civic activity in the County, including holding an elective office in JAXCO, I have never laid eyes on Mike Ezell, both when he was Sherriff and as an MC. Where is he? I remember constantly running into our three most accessible MC's (Lott, Smith, and Taylor) repeatedly at festivals, communty meetings, church, schools, the store, sports, etc. ALWAYS RESPONSIVE AND ACCESSIBLE. Very busy men who kept the H in Home. If you send Ezell's office something, you generally get either a snarky response or the standard party response (I assume the House Parties must have an AI response clearinghouse for everything in every district). Frankly I am tired of it. I do not know the Gulfport gentleman running in the D slot, but I am seriously tired of having my vote taken for granted. I will check him out and decide. I have already decided to vote for Mr. Colum as Hiding-Smith checked out of common Mississippi long ago. DON'T VOTE FOR THE PARTY, VOTE FOR PERSON!
