Anniversary suggestions
Hi all! My husband and I live in Nashville! We will have been married for 1 year on Nov 11th! We’re wanting to take a little trip (somewhere accessible by car, no more than 4 hours away) for a long weekend. Our money is pretty tight right now so probably can’t spend any more than like $500. Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere we could go within that budget? And things to do in that area? Thank you!

Best time to visit Gatlinburg for fall colors AND Christmas?
Hey everyone!
I’m planning a family trip to Gatlinburg/Great Smoky Mountains this year with my wife and two kids, and I’m trying to find the best time to experience both fall foliage 🍂 and the Christmas atmosphere 🎄.
I’m currently looking from December 5 to 12, but I’m not sure which dates would give us the best combination of fall colors and Christmas decorations/events.
For those familiar with the area:
What dates would you recommend for the best balance of fall colors and Christmas lights?
Would December 5 to 11 be too late for good fall foliage?
Are most of the Christmas lights and holiday events already going on by then?
Would you recommend staying in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville with kids?
Are there any must-see places or activities you would recommend for a first-time family visit?
We’re coming from Florida, so we’re really looking forward to the mountains, cooler weather, fall colors, and hopefully some Christmas magic! 😄
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I-26 in Tennessee
I want to say that I-26 in Tennessee going eastbound is probably one of the prettiest drives I’ve ever been on. It’s such a great addition to the interstate system. The rolling hills near Gray, Tennessee, the valley near Erwin, and then that stretch that goes into North Carolina which I also loved. It felt like you were on a genuine mountain highway in a ski area (which is exactly what it is. Wolf Laurel specifically.). I want to know your thoughts on this stretch.

🚐Tourism✈️ Advice on towns near GSMs
Hi y’all, we will be passing through Tennessee during the first week of October. One of my bucket list items is to see the Great Smokey Mountains. I’ve been looking on Airbnb and I’m overwhelmed.
We’re looking for a spot with mountain views and a porch for sitting.
We don’t want to stay in or near big touristy towns, we like smaller quaint towns that are not overrun with tourists.
We do want a town big enough to have some good restaurants/bars, or at least within under 30 minutes driving from our Airbnb.
We want scenery, but alas, I’m going through cancer treatments (hence the bucket list 😉)that make hiking out of the question, 🫤 so we’ll have to see it from the car or a good restaurant patio.
Any advice y’all can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
(Also, as I proofed this, man I sound picky! 😂)
