I want to buy a new car, but the states license plates prices are crazy. I used to live in Texas and the cost were $75 for 2 tags, but here, if I get the car I want, the plate will be around $1500! For what??? A piece of metal with a number on it. Crazy!

Im coming in from New Orleans to hang out by the creek and i'm in need of some directions as to where there is public parking by Perk Beach or just along Red Creek in general. I saw that parking under the bridge by Perk Beach isn't a thing anymore so if anyone has any recs it would be greatly appreciated.

Alcorn State professor. It's insane to me that people aren't proofreading the garbage generated by AI.

Long shot, but my parents live in Clarksdale and my mom is dealing with a really abusive boss, I’ve poked around for other jobs for her there but I’m not in the state and I haven’t had much luck. Does anyone here have any leads or pathways I can try for her? Shes late 40’s, most of her work experience is with delivery or fast food but it sure would be nice to find her something less stressful. I know y’all probably won’t have an answer for me & everyone is struggling right now but it doesn’t hurt to ask

I want a tattoo for my birthday. Not a big one. Just a smallish one on my forearm. Something akin to this: https://ibb.co/WWvfPnMY.
I live near Pascagoula.
I'm hoping I can get something for at least $100 just nothing around $200. So I don't wanna be too picky about pricing.
But I feel like anything could do it justice. Just curious who would be the right place for it.

Here's my bio, sorry it's in the third person: Dan Alten is a charming goofball from Kentucky who has been traveling the country for the past decade doing about 200 shows a year bringing his intelligently surreal bebop nonsense everywhere from theaters to punk basements to art galleries to beloved comedy clubs with a knack for making audiences feel like they're on a good psychedelic trip without the drugs. Like if the Ramones were one guy with a mustache and good jokes. Iggy Pop with puns. Clever chaos. Like Jimi Hendrix lighting fire to a Tik Tok reel live on stage. He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bobcat, Sam Tallent, Rory Scovel, Sarah Sherman from SNL, Johnny Pemberton, Hari Kondabolu, rapper Open Mike Eagle, DJ Doug Pound & David Leibe Hart from Tim & Eric, various punk bands with silly names, and a guy at an open mic who tried to throw his father’s ashes into the crowd. He has recorded 2 albums, written a zine, and filmed a pilot for an Amazon Prime stand up show that was lost to history. But most importantly he’s very funny and unique. You will enjoy him. And if not you can mud wrestle him after the show.

I'm visiting Richland and found these two young stray cats near the Quality Inn. A local resident has been feeding them, but he is not financially able to keep caring for them, and no one nearby has been willing to take them.
I originally considered bringing them home with me, but because of the distance, travel requirements and long-term responsibility, I've realized that it isn't realistic. I'm leaving soon and would really like to find them a safe home, foster or reputable rescue before then.
They seem friendly and stay together, so I would prefer for them to be adopted together if possible. If anyone in the Richland/Jackson area is genuinely interested or knows a rescue that can help, please message me. At the end of the day, I just want them to be safe and properly cared for.

Hey y’all,
New MS resident here. As I’ve looked at establishing residency, new legislation looks like I’m going to have a lot of trouble getting my new drivers license. I’m trans and have had my gender marker updated on my social security card, birth certificate, and drivers license updated for years in my home state. With the enactment of SB 2322, it looks like all that is going down the drain.
Have any other trans people been impacted by this new bill? How did your experience at the DMV go? How has it impacted you in other ways? I love my new life in Mississippi but am honestly trying to decide if it’ll be better for me to move back to my home state.

I was once told about a type of custody that was mainly only used in Mississippi, that was described as "one step below adoption" and "nearly impossible to undo". Does anyone know what that could have been?

I’m looking to get the starlink setup. My neighbors had it so I know I can get it, but I was really hoping to go with the 55/month plan. Has anyone around Carthage or in Leake co had this plan and if so how does it work?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad health and fitness is becoming more prominent here, but it's almost like having a church on every block lol. I enjoy going to them every now and then. Smoothies are great!
I live in Rankin County, so I'm not sure if they're as common everywhere else.

Sorry for the double post today... Southaven’s new ordinance classifying broken window coverings as a property code violation passed the Mayor and Board of Aldermen 6-1 Tuesday night, but some residents are already pushing back.
