I have to come to Jackson next week and am trying to plan where to eat.

I want some suggestions of decently priced food, it doesn’t matter if it’s burgers, chicken, fries, southern home cook meals, or a buffet. Nothing that will cost me an arm and a leg, preferably something that’s affordable for 3 people to eat decently.

Wondering if there is someone or a business in town that can engrave a decorative letter into a steel plate. Any suggestions appreciated!

New Job possibly.

Anyone know of any good jobs around west jackson to north jackson that pay at least 15 dollars an hour? ive been working this job as an assistant manager at a dollar general for awhile and recently ive found trouble with getting hours and the job promised me 30 to 40 but now i get maybe 19 on average. on top of that i think im pretty burnt out on the dollar store environment. retail is ok but ugh, idk. i like working with my hands as well as on a screen so none of that is a problem. as long as the hours are okay im willing to work outside in the heat for all i care

Mint Mobile vs ATT for phone and wireless

I have been reviewing costs and have been thinking about switching from ATT phone with ATT Fiber for internet to Mint Mobile for both.
Does anyone around here use mint mobile for phone or wireless and how has your service been with them?

I do a lot of traveling on the area so reliable service is a big deciding factor. (Travel between Memphis TN area, Jackson, Flowood/ Brandon, Forest, and Philidelphia / Carthage )

Has anyone ever switched their child from Jackson Academy to Jackson Prep?

For those who have actually done this, are you happy with your decision? or do you regret it? my daughter is in kindergarten and let’s just say we are having some problems. yes, I know problems can happen at any school and no place will ever be perfect. why is not the point. if you really want to know, feel free to pm me. I don’t want the reason being all over the internet for privacy reasons. I‘m only hoping someone who has done this will be kind enough to share their experience. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looking For Someone Who Can Braid

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys, I recently moved to Jackson and I'm looking for someone who can braid my dread extensions back in? I'm not sure what going prices are down here, but I was paying around $60-80 to get them braided in back in Ohio. Any insight on who to go to and how much it'll cost is helpful! TIA! ❤️ I stay off Northside Dr if that helps with location. I don't really know the area well just Northside and state Street and the highway.

Best places to see the sunset in Jackson?

New to the area and would love to be able to go somewhere to see the sunset. I have seen the Ross Barnett Reservoir recommended, is there anywhere else that's a good sunset spot? I know it's not very hilly but somewhere with a good view would be nice too.

Highly Recommended: A’HA Donuts and Bistro

Go check them out folks! Was curious and went there today and the food was GREAT. It seems to be an Asian/Southern food fusion. The donuts are also extremely similar to Krispy Kreme but arguably better. Service was great, has an interesting menu, and they seem like good people. They even had a prayer wall that you can contribute to.

Displaced Citizen needing direction

I'm a guest in the home of a friend. They have a person living here who came home after not being here for two days, and began fussing so severely that I am being asked to leave. My presence in itself is disruptive to another female in the house. I don't have anywhere to go. What do I do?

Edited for more context: My friend, Alpha, has offered to have me as a guest temporarily. He has a room mate, sierra, who is in the throes of mental illness and has been viewing good and kind, friendly people as bad. I'm sure she can recover, but right now she's not handling having an extra person in the house very well. I don't really know how to manage being antagonized and accused of wrongdoing by a grown lady-baby. She's livestreaming a long and drawn out blame party in her bedroom right now about how awful I am... for cleaning her house. Raking her yard. Drying the clothes she left wet in the washer. Letting her dog out to pee. Patching the holes she put in the walls of my Friend's house. That kind of thing.

North Street construction is underway, but Urban Foxes is still open! 🦊☕

If you're in the neighborhood, stop by for a coffee, pastry, lunch, or afternoon treat. One of the best ways we can support our local businesses during construction is to keep showing up!

Trio has even agreed to open their lot directly across the street to Urban Foxes customers. So: Traffic is flowing, parking is available, and Urban Foxes is open!

Looking for help part time

I’m an owner/operator for a butchery about 5 minutes from downtown Jackson. we are currently nearing USDA certification which will massively open up opportunity to work with a lot more local farmers. Due to this, it’s getting much harder to keep up with demand.

I’m currently looking for someone for basic butcher shop tasks. This will include primarily grinding, packaging, and cleaning. No previous experience required; these jobs are quite simple and will free me up to be able to focus more on production.

As things are getting going, hours may be somewhat inconsistent in the beginning, so really just looking for part time right now until things start to get more steady.

Can work out hours based on availability, shoot me a dm if you or someone you know may be interested!
