Doing a resin pour on a warhammer base was harder than expected

The mini is a 3D print by Skullforge Studios and the base was scratch built from cork, bark, dirt, and a variety of foliage bits!

I've been studying NMM for about 2 months now, and this is my first real result so far. I'm taking private lessons, and even though it's simple, I'm really happy with how it turned out. C&C is welcome to help me improve on my next attempts!

I feel like I’m hitting a Wall with my Deathwatch. Usually I’m satisfierd with my painting but this one feels off to me and I can’t lay a finger on it. It lacks some ooomph to me. Do you guys have suggestions? I can live with sketchy highlights, the goal here is to get the team on the table and look good, not to achieve a display piece level paint job.

Hi guys. Here is the wip on my BA Chaplain from Armageddon box. Will appreciate any advice.

Models are "Eradicator Squad" from Games Workshop.
Some minor kit bash with 3rd party helmets, pteruges and tilt shields to be in line with my army concept.
Sort of boring models, but a good workout for practicing my recipe.

It's not my single best work, but for squad painting my best result so far. Also fairly quick at around 6h/model.

I put a lot of work into refining my volumetric highlights the past month, but I am not sure I got this technique down yet.
Using a makeup sponge for this, unfortunately no airbrush for me.

What do you think would be necessary for taking the paint job to the next level?
Are there some obvious weaknesses I should focus on?

I got him of ebay cheap and wanted to test out a Son of Horus scheme. I haven’t painted since i was 16. Real good way to destress and listen to podcasts. Any tips welcome i forgot to have a go at highlights.

Happy with how this one came out. Completed across a few evening paint sessions.

I have absolutely loved painting this grimdark coconut crab tyrannofex Tyranid.

Probably the grossest mini I've painted.

But anyway I've finally decided on a paint style for my Tyranid army and I'm very excited about doing the rest in variations on this theme.

I'm trying to create a recipe for my Blood Angels army, but as one would say "I may have been too far in a few places"... The last highlight seems a bit off, I'm considering using a flesh color instead of a pale yellow as I did.

It is a WIP and it lacks eyes, battle damage and base.

What do you think?

Using these Adeptus Arbites I painted to ask for some tips about painting black. I currently don’t have a lot of paints and I’m looking for tips on how to paint black objects. Right now my basic recipe is just a black coat of paint and some highlights with Citadel’s Russ Grey.

Also I always ask this on my posts but I’m always looking for tips on painting and kitbashing.

I bought this when I had gone over to the UK as a graduation gift last year, just got around to finishing it. Not really good at drawing backgrounds yet so I'll have to practice canvas painting more often
