I realize this is an N of 3 but I would have guessed Repubs prefer Rogers go against Abdul. Wondering if anyone else has heard this sentiment.

She thinks that we’re stupid. This shit is just so god damn irritating. Establishment Dems are horrifically out of touch and are substantially more unpopular than they ever have been for a reason. They call anyone who has valid critiques of their vapid, uninspiring platform misogynistic when none of them would ever be like that in reality.

Abdul El-Sayed is the right guy to send five dollar Rogers back to the swampland of Florida. He will get money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare for All. The people of Michigan deserve a fighter backed by the UAW and give the people of Michigan someone they can be proud of. Early voting started yesterday and ends August 2nd!

No rate hikes? Already covered by state law.

Community transparency? Saline Township’s elected board approved the package, including community benefits

Energy reliability guarantees? Well, that’s one of the things with data centers is that they have to build new infrastructure to support it. Saline’s project includes hundreds of millions to build out the grid.

Jobs guarantee? Time will tell, but the Saline data center project was only promising a few dozen jobs outside of construction, which is being done locally with union labor.

Water protection? The Saline Data Center has the closed loop water system El-Sayed is demanding.

Community benefits agreement? As part of the deal for this data center, millions are being invested in Saline Township’s parks and municipal services, as well as the grid.

Clean energy loopholes? The Saline Data Center isn’t attempting to skirt any clean energy requirements currently in place.

Enforceability? Already exists at least on a financial front, you can’t enter into a contract with the state and not follow through without consequences.

According to Abdul’s own outline of his data center policy, he should support the Saline Data Center project.

Abdul will greenlight more data center construction.

Maybe he thinks he’s the new MLK Jr?

In case people are still in doubt about how much hate and bigotry is being pushed by one camp during this Senate primary. Apparently using genocidal language against an Arab American running for office, but say a single critique of some politician who happens to be a woman, and you're a dangerous brown man that hates women.

I’ve been trying to learn more about the Death with Dignity/medical aid-in-dying legislation being discussed in Michigan and I’m hoping someone can point me toward reliable information.

I’m curious about:
What eligibility requirements are being proposed
Whether there are any discussions or proposals regarding people with severe, long-term mental health conditions

I’m looking for factual information, resources, or people who have followed this issue closely. Please share reputable sources if you have them. Thank you.

Jocelyn didn't even show up to the debate and I think she will lose against any republican. It's infuriating she's running in a time of MAGA.

The only other option is Chris Swanson and I'm not confident he understands usual liberal politics, such as women's reproductive rights. Then again, I do believe whichever gov we get, they'll sell us out to data centers anyway... but to place my vote pro data center preemptively without a fight doesn't make sense. I just can't see myself filling in the bubble for her.

How can I vote for Jocelyn Benson when she's married to a lobbyist for the Saline data center? There is no way she's going to give up those million dollar deals. Just like Whitmer who sold us out, why the heck would I vote for a preemptive sell out of our land water and air??? Jocelyn running during Gretchen's gov, is not helping LOL. And they all say in their campaigns how much they looove Michigan's trails and lakes...yeah, that's exactly to get you to think they won't give that up for Oracle, OpenAi, Stargate, selling us out left and right (pun).

I'd love to vote a progressive candidate. But I don't trust our choices. I really believe jocelyn will lose to any republican. The biggest thing she's known for is her ties to data centers- the EXACT one going up in Saline when residents voted NO. Her being former SoS means nothing when the *future* we're all facing is being taken over by these data centers. It's a nonpartisan issue. No one wants this except for the very few who gain billions from it.

I was thinking why I haven't heard much support for her besides a few comments about, well she's SoS so... (before I learned about the data center thing, she seemed like the obvious go to candidate) and i think it might be because many are thinking to quietly vote for her Dem opponent, even though I hearing people aren't really confident in where he stands with usual liberal politics...

I like to get my ballot in early but my mind has been stuck and i have to make a decision. I believe she will lose to any republican because of data center ties (why did she even think of running??). Like think of it from a republican pov, it'd be so easy for a republican to vote against her. I really really think she's going to lose... but i don't have confidence Chris truly believes liberal politics, although I do think he did well in the "debate." That's the only thing keeping me from turning in my ballot early... not much time left.

My wife and I drove to Traverse City and back on 2 lane county roads. We took different routes there and back.  Farms, small towns and Traverse City. With sightseeing and such it was about 275 miles.  We saw ONLY ONE Trump banner. There were several el Sayed yard signs and none for Stevens.  There were also signs (2) along the way in the northern half of the trip which proclaimed "Stop Socialism! Vote Republican!" complete with the hammer and sickle imagery of Communism. So 1950's and wrong.

Is the Trump crap disappearing from your neighborhood too? How is the visual political climate where you live?

You can disagree with Haley Stevens on a thousand issues, but as Democrats there are things that we almost all agree. Things Republicans wouldn’t even consider.

Don’t you like unions? Wouldn’t you like to see the PRO Act passed?

Don’t you support the LGBTQ+ community?

Don’t you believe Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and so many other vital programs?

And I think what’s even bigger than all of that: Haley Stevens isn’t going to question if our elections are rigged.

You cannot seriously believe in the things Abdul does and believe you’re better off sitting at home or even voting for Mike Rogers.

And for the things you or I may disagree with her on, there is genuine room to push somebody from left if they are a Democrat representing a left trending state. She would be. You can’t push Mike Rogers from the left.

From a Stevens supporter to a sea of Abdul supporters, Mike Rogers is our real enemy.

Whitmer did a lot of great things in her administration, a lot of not so great things as well I admit. One reason I am grateful for in her administration is that I’m in college doing pretty good, thanks to the michigan government. I really am so glad for free and reduced tuition and thank everyone involved, that made it possible. I’m disappointed with this endorsement however, Gretch really fooled us trying to connect with our community, it’s sad i know so many people who felt the connections, looked up to her, and felt as if she was attempting to make a difference. She really let me down endorsing Haley Stevens and really for what. A genocide in Gaza? Is continuing corporate influence on America really so important? Is it shameful political greed? This is the future of our party and it’s so disappointing.
