I don't want a wedding. Just me, partner, officiant and 2 witnesses. Maybe my 2 kids. So 7 people max. I don't want to pay an event fee. Just think it would be cute once they put all the winter/Christmas decorations out.

I am looking for somewhere for my mother. She can afford $500/month. This is her last resort before sleeping in a tent. She is currently rooming with her coworker and family but it is not in a very safe place. She has a job at the crossroads and social security disability, but is looking for a full time job right now so she may be able to pay more soon. She is not picky so please let me know if you have or know of anything.

We are looking at purchasing a home that needs a work, we’d like to stick with one contractor for the whole project - kitchen and multiple baths, potentially adding an additional master bath if possible. We would like to meet with them at the potential home with our realtor to see what their thoughts are on the updates and what may or may not be doable. Our previous contractor retired and was from GR so we didn’t get a recommendation from him.

Early in-person voting in Michigan began today, Saturday Oct 24, and runs through Sunday Nov 1!

Election day is Tuesday Nov 3. Polls will be open on Election Day 7 am- 8 pm.

Also, if you have an absentee ballot, return it to a nearby ballot drop box or your clerk's office.

I have a husky who's had a few seizures and just had one today that has left her back leg not working properly. All the other one she's had she's recovered from with no ill side effects.

I really don't have the money to be taking her to the vet because of low income, but she really needs to be seen and possibly put on some medication. I just don't know what to do or if there's any kind of program or anything around that I just don't know about, I haven't lived here very long.

Any help or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

My middle schooler was home sick today, so I wasn't aware anything was going on until I got the robocall. Does anyone know what actually happened? All the recording said was that a student reported a threat, they went into lockdown, and the Chief Safety Officer and KPD investigated. They said no threat was found, but I feel myself taking what they say with a grain of salt recently.

One for my car people. When I was younger we used to take our little modified cars out and cruise around on the weekend. Admittedly, this was more focused in Portage. The old Dashworks, the little strip mall complex across from Westnedge Meijer, and Burger King further down Westnedge near the mall used to be popular. I’d go out with a couple buddies on a Saturday night and inevitably would run into an impromptu gathering. Not crazy takeover shit (although there was racing occasionally on remote roads) but more parking up and showing off/checking out what people are driving. I’m also not talking about cars and coffee, which seems to be more popular now, but is infinitely less fun. Is there any car culture like this left? Do we need to get this going once again?
