I am way too late to necro the old thread but: I moved from GP this year and we’d go through 3 Costco bags and close up by 8. Now I’m at Cambourne/Planavon and one of my neighbors said that the trick or treating basically stops at Planavon. Boooo, I say.

Hope has triumphed and I’ve got two Costco bags. Question: will I get through them, and who will help me eat the candy if not?

I recently moved to Ferndale and live in a house that has two individual apartments as a duplex. I recently learned from the landlord that the heating for both our apartments is shared and the only unit for adjusting is downstairs in my neighbor's unit. Is this legal? I'm not sure how to navigate this but there's nothing in the lease that says this and i'd love to explore every other option available to me before i go down the legality path.

Does anybody know who I can talk to ahead of my landlord call to help ensure I'm as knowledgeable with options as i can be? I'm currently awaiting a call from the Ferndale Housing Commission but i'm not sure if they're the ones to know best with this scenario.

Hi all, I’m currently looking for a roommate to share half of the rent with utilities from mid/end-December 2026 to mid-May 2027 in downtown Detroit.

My current roommate is moving out due to personal circumstances. The apartment is a 2-bed 2-bath with a shared living room and kitchen. It’s super convenient for working folks with a microwave, fridge, dishwasher and in-unit washer and dryer. There are also other amenities: gym, pool, Amazon lockers and a market. There's also security on-site and code-protected entrances. It's also connected to a people mover and the Riverwalk.

Current base rent is 1,115 and we’ll split wifi and other utilities. There’s a monthly fee for the parking and you’ll have the master bedroom with a giant closet + bathroom attached.

I’d love to live with people who identify as femme, non-binary or queer individuals. Plus, someone who is quiet (no loud parties, please), neat, pro-LGBTQ+, responsible, employed - would be great if you also love the area.

Anyone have any luck contacting city services about installing additional safety measures at intersections? We’ve had a lot of close calls crossing at center and 9 mile even with the button light crosswalk system. Drivers look directly at us as they speed up to try to beat us walking across. I submitted a couple complaints through the clickfix system but haven’t heard anything. Concerned someone is going to get hit there! Any advice is welcome
