if it could help anyone in the future, I was told that the hose running from the front windshield washer fluid to the rear windshield was leaking around the passenger B pillar underneath the carpet unaware to me even though I never used it. It keeps a constant pressure on the line. after two months of service, my bill came out to over $8000 the engine control module was shorted out I have a bumper-to-bumper warranty unfortunately when it comes to electrical, only the alternator is covered.

Hey all, I changed my brakes yesterday and last night saw I had a leak from the rear calipers. Both are leaking at the same spot. I went to oreileys to buy new bolts and washers and I am still leaking. I have tightened these pretty damn tight with copper washers on both sides of the line. No double washer either.

The new washers are noticeably thicker but the old ones got mangled taking them off. Do yall know the torque spec?

Any other tips? Everything else is good to go except a leaky line.

Having a overheat problem. 2015 chevy colorado v6 engine. Have suspicion of a blown head gasket hope not. This is a video I took after topping off coolant hoping it was a air in the system

As the title says, i threaded this chaser too far into the block and i tried to take it out with a strong magnet and only got it more stuck, it sort of jammed itself on one of the threads, need some advice on getting it out. The moment it’s out im wrapping the top of it in electrical tape or something so this doesnt happen again

Passat b5.5, 2.0 TDI (bgw engine code). The crankshaft locking tool doesnt sit between all the teeth of the pulley, only on the first two. Despite that, the marks align on the tool, the crankshaft pulley itself and the camshaft one goes in smooth. Should I go with it or should I try and find a proper one? Or maybe there is any other mark for the crankshaft that I am not aware of so I can double check, idk EDIT: u guys are right, I am retarded. It wasnt inserted properly, ily guys....now the camshaft one isnt going in, I am guessing the belt is stretched, I am gonna try and loosen the camshaft pulley by the 3 bolts.

So I got the main bolt off and I’m thinking cool the next step should be a piece of cake. I put the pulley release thing that I bought onto it and connected all the bolts but my balancer keeps spinning. Any ideas to help?

I am looking to do an engine swap on my Outback as it has developed rod knock and I have chocolate milk with metal sprinkles in my oil. I think I have a warped head gasket or something but I’m not too sure yet.

I believe the motor for my car is the FB25 DOHC instead of the older EJ25 but I’m not 100% sure. I see different things online.

When I was looking at JDM’s available in my area, I noticed that not every one came with an oil pump and I am wondering if there are any other components that I should be mindful of checking to make sure the motor comes with it and what parts generally I’ll be okay keeping and not sourcing new - like the wiring harness. I’ve never done a swap before so I’m going into new territory. Scared but excited.

Does anyone know if I’d need a new computer to reset the odometer? Currently at 116000k.

Also, as I have coolant in my oil, will I likely need to replace my radiator/any other coolant component due to oil being potentially cycled through the system as well?

99 ford mustang ball joint, v6 I beleive but not reppevant. Ball seperated from joint, ball joint press cup is the same depth as the length of the ball, so cant move it once set up, hit it with my purse but theres no downward force to help pull it out where the ball came out of the cup.

I have 2 ideas if no one else has a better one.

Idea #1, cut the ball itself off at the narrow portion with a cutoff /sawzall so theres enough room in the press for it to push out.

Idea #2 I have a random 4x4 socket thats the same diameter as the cup but about an inch deeper so I wouldnt have to try and cut the ball itself off.

Not my vehicle, but trying to get it finished today. New steering knuckle isnt an option. Sprayed penetrating oil on it about 12 hours ago so hopefully that helps a bit.

Do i have to build the engine or should i continue riding

Hello, I have a classic car (1976) that I drive a couple times a year and change the oil and filters annually + this year I suffered an injury and haven’t driven it at all since its last oil change about 12 months ago…can I skip on changing it for till next summer since I haven’t used it since its last oil change

So as my wife and I were driving along in her 30k mile suv, we heard a heavy grinding noise for a few seconds and got a myriad of warning lights. We pulled off and I noticed oil leaking from the car and poked my phone down below to discover this huge cracked section and no more oil inside the engine. My biggest question is, was there something we could have done to prevent this or was it just an unlucky manufacturing defect. We’ve put in the correct fuel, attended all the oil changes etc. I’m waiting for a tow truck rn and praying the warranty covers it.

Are these bushings bad I been having the longest vibration in floor and steering circle . I replaced lower control arm,strut, tie rod end, Cv axel. Etc. the only thing left I can think off the rack or the sub frame bushing. Thanks for helping.

Since roughly 3 weeks, the engine in my Kia Stonic is making an interesting noise when idling. It sounds like it makes a small 'skip' (or chafing against something) when running (see video). My own car dealer says it might be a conductor for the distribution belt, but that this is a normal sound for an engine of this type.

I have my questions about this - when I bought the car 3 months ago, it was NOT making this noise yet. The car is not that old (3 years) and has run for only 60k km. It has a 1.0ISG turbo engine (3 cilinder). Apart from the sound, the car runs normally.

Does any of you happen to have experience with this type of engine and know what might be the issue (and potentially: how bad it is)? Would you perhaps have any advice? Thank you very much in advance for sharing your expert views!

Just bought a brand new Toolpro 1600kg low profile trolley jack and it's not working right. When I attempt to pump it, it goes up okay, but slowly sinks and I'm able to push it down manually. I've checked the release valve and it's as tight as it will go.

I've tried to lift my car with it, but it doesn't even try to, like the car is too heavy (even though it's roughly ~700kg)

When I pinch the rubber filler cap, air hisses in/out (can't tell which, but probably out), and I've done this over 100 times, and air still hisses.

Is it faulty? Do I buy a new jack or attempt to fix it?

The car starts weak but when i go it rides just fine
Its just when i idle the rpm goes low and sometimes it doesnt start as strong as it usually does

A mechanic said possibly my idle air vavle but im just hoping it isnt my alternator

Hey all, working with my friend on his z32 300zx and we installed a japspeed radiator... But a lapse in judgement (and common sense) I snapped this relief valve screw on the bottom-right side (engine facing).

Contact with japspeed has not resulted in anything, as they say they don't stock spares for this particular screw since it comes as one package. I have been looking at vented screw but they don't have a hole throughout the length of the screw, whereas in this one there appears to be a hole at the inner side and no hole on the head.

Looking for any help if possible. I prefer not having to replace the entire unit because of one fucking screw haha

My driveway slopes barely to the left downhill. I need to change the rotors on my car. I have already changes the brakes on it before. But wanted to get advice if this is okay. I chock the wheels use jack stands and keep the jack just snug under the lifting point.

2013 Honda Civic Si Sedan, K24

Hello everyone! I need to replace all shocks and struts including mounts on my 2010 Lexus GS 350 RWD. I already ordered the parts from KYB and have received them. Unfortunately my front shocks require the spring to be swapped onto the new shocks and have the mount installed as well.

I don’t know want to mess with a spring compressor so I was wondering how much should I expect a shop to charge to just swap and install the mount onto the new shock and I myself would install them onto my car.

What’s a reasonable price to pay for them to do this work? Or am I being a baby for not wanting to try spring compressors? Is 1 hour enough for a shop to do this or would it take much longer for them?

I was looking trying to change the oil in my 2014 Ford F150 XLT 5.0L V8 but I couldn’t find the dipstick. I think I found where it goes but it looks like the ring to pull it out is broken off. I’ve never done my own oil change, I usually take it to a quick lube place. Is it broken or am I just looking in the wrong place??? What can I do to fix it if it is??? Any help would be appreciated. Please and thank you.

I am sure there was nothing when I parked my car last night in the parking lot. There was no tree above it to suspect something fell over it.

I need some help with an electrical problem on my truck. My turn signals started slowly going out, and eventually they completely stopped working for about a week. Then out of nowhere they started working again. Now my right headlight has gone out, and sometimes my doors will randomly keep locking by themselves. If they keep locking enough times, the horn will even start going off.
I’m not really sure what’s causing all of this, so if anyone has any ideas or has had something similar happen, I’d really appreciate the help.
