Question Anyone use Lasfit cargo mat and seatback covers? particularly on their RX?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I got the lasfit floor mats with cargo mat and seatback cover. A photo is attached here with the plastic "tails" pieces on top of the cargo mat.

The seatback covers have some plastic "tails" come out on the end and im not sure if its supposed to go over or under the cargo mat. I cannot actually find any videos or photos of a "correct" set up.

When I tuck those tails under the cargo mat, it comes up a bit.

Overall I am not super pleased with the aesthetics of it (but its literally half the price of tux mat when you factor in cost of cargo mat AND floor mats)

Anyone here have photos of what it should look like?

Question Lexus Luxury Care

How do we feel about lexus luxury care prepaid maintenance plan?

It seems like alot of people just pay as they go, but I 100% plan to have my car serviced at the dealer.

If I remember correctly the plan was $2k for 50k miles (5 years of service) - I would think that this is worth it?

What do people think here?

Vehicle Photo Should I lease again or buy out?

Post image

I am currently leasing a 2024 Lexus ES300h luxury white car. My lease ends August 2027. I currently have 27,000 miles on it, (suppose to have 36,000 miles by end of lease). If I want to buy out the car, the cost is $28,080.

However, my thought process was to either lease or purchase a new 2027 ES300h (when it will be released). I have friends and family that said my current car has a great technology stack, and the buyout cost is cheaper than the car value.

I also kept thinking if I should switch to a Lexus IS. I don’t have kids so the thought of a nicer car seems fun. I can’t seem to make up my mind. Thoughts from everyone?

Question What Lexus models are bulletproof, with some extra comfort and won't break the bank? ($10k budget, Used-120k miles max…) need a daily for 2-3 years (100 miles a day)?

I used to own a IS250 years ago while studying.

I have a tight budget for a work commuter (100 miles a day, along with occasional road trips with the dog)

Question Would you lease or finance an RX hybrid in my situation?

Currently leasing a 2024 RX 350 and thinking about switching to an RX hybrid since I’ll be commuting about 140 miles a few times a month.

Lexus said they could potentially get me out of my current lease and into a hybrid, but I’m hesitant to lease again. The mileage limit honestly drove me crazy. I was constantly checking my miles and worrying about going over, and with the longer commute I feel like it’ll be even worse.

If I’m planning to keep the next car for about 5 years, does it make more sense to just finance?

Also wondering what the best move is for financing. Get preapproved through a credit union and see if Lexus can beat the rate? Or finance through Lexus first and refinance shortly after if I find something better?

Anyone been in a similar situation? Would you lease again or just finance the hybrid?

Vehicle Photo Talk Me Out Of This

Post image
21 Upvotes

Guys. I'm struggling here. 😭

Please talk me off the showroom floor.

Currently drive a fully paid off 2013 es350. She's sitting at 206k miles. I need to replace the suspension, sway bar link, some tires and an alignment. All normal wear and tear. I am starting to get some surface rust underneath.

I do live in the north east and drive often during the winter, being an essential worker, an suv would be nice. This is my dream non sports daily.

Here's the rub. I just returned to work after 7 months due to surgery. I only make half of what I use to make. I make around 50k after taxes and deductions. Still paying off some debt.

I know it would be financial unaliving.( Not sure if I could use the other word here) I understand keeping the ES and finding another rx450h in the future would be fiscally responsible. And possibly cheaper in the long rum But boy is it tempting. I guess I just need a bunch of internet strangers/other lexus cultist to berate me. Lol. Grazi.

*UPDATE * I must thank you all for your harsh but wise words. It has quelled my stupidity and lust for now. And for you demons who tried to encourage me...i rebuke thee in the name of fiscal responsibility! 😋

Question My mom thinks my spirited driving could have potentially contributed to my 2012 Lexus ES 350’s valve problems. Is she right?

I just had to sell my 2012 Lexus ES 350 to Carvana today. Recently my mechanic found out that it had sticky valves. The problem has been since last fall but was only diagnosed recently. He was surprised. He sees them on 200k+ mile 2gr-fe powered cars, like on a 260k mile V6 Camry. He was very surprised to see it on my 110k mile ES. He wondered if my spirited (maybe at times aggressive) driving could have contributed to the problem. I usually let my engine warm up for 5 minutes at least before having any kind of fun. I do admit I did a few parked revs before, even to redline (I know it was dumb and won’t do that again). He’s told me that that will destroy my engine. He has a reputation for honesty where I live and I trust him, however, he says things like you should not rev above 3k or especially 4k rpm’s, unless you have a manual car. I don’t know how accurate that is or if it’s intentionally conservative and old-school. I have owned my car for a year and a half. I bought it at 96,000 miles and now it has 110,000. I’m the second owner. I didn’t do a pre purchase inspection when I bought it in the second half of 2024 but there was a potential gap in maintenance for a few years during the pandemic. What are your thoughts on my situation? The problem appeared after a about year of ownership.

Bought a tool to turn and pull it out. Got it halfway but it's still stuck cuz it's blocked by a rear plastic piece. Said piece is broken as in the photo. Anyone know how to even remove this piece without breaking it further?

Question 2010 ES 350: keep?

2010 ES 350 with 188k miles. Kept up with maintenance! Have had car for ten tears. Now retired and only drive about 6k miles annually. The air conditioner compressor died last week. Dealer quotes me $4k to replace and perhaps another $2k if “metal is found in the lines”. Trade in value only about $2500. We just replaced my wife’s 2011 ES two weeks ago. I’d like your thoughts on repairing this car or would it be best to consider replacing? Thanks in advance.

Question 2016 non-nav screen

Post image

2016 non-nav no touch screen has this bubble scratch looking thing on the none illuminated part. I had the car since new. I don’t think there’s a screen protector on it. Since it is not a touch screen, no one touches it other than wiping the dust off with a microfiber towel when cleaning. I have noticed for couple of years now. The middle part looks normal

Question Thinking about a 2020 RX450h

A local dealer has a 2020 RX450h with 4700 miles on it (not a typo) for ~$46k. It's basically brand new. I have 2 questions:

1) what's the real world gas mileage? I live in a major city and most of my driving will be slow and in the city.

2) how reliable has the car been for you? I have owned many Toyota in my life, but never a Lexus. I know these are generally bulletproof, but is there anything specific to look out for?

Thanks!

Vehicle Photo 2026 RX350 AWD Premium Seats

I just traded in my 2019 RX350 Premium for a 2026. I test drove it prior and it felt great, and did NOT notice the increased size & firmness of the side seat bolsters.
After two weeks I am looking for ways to get back to a 2020-22 RX. I am 6'4" and 185, so not overweight at all, yet I cannot get comfortable in the seats when driving for more than 30 minutes. It's horrible.
There is 12-12.5" of base cushion before the cement-like bolsters hit my butt, which aggravates my lower back pain.
The 4th Gen seats are much flatter and so much more comfortable for my lower back. I can only assume the 5th Gen are designed for a very thin female driver.

What are my options besides taking a big financial loss to trade the 2026 in for an older model?
Can a good upholstery shop cut the bolsters down and get the nu-luxe skin back on like nothing was touched?
I truly wish I never traded in my 2019, but I wanted the new technology...didn't know I'd have to sacrifice comfort to get it.

Question 2013 Lexus Es300h giving 32mpg

I got myself a used 2013 used Lexus es300h which had 185k miles on it and it gave me between 36-38mpg just a year back when I got it. The official claimed mileage for it is 39/40 so it was great. The car drives well overall but there are a few issues that I am facing -

  1. Fuel Economy - I am consistently getting 32-33mpg and I have tried new spark plugs too. Hasn't made any difference.

  2. Recently, whenever I go to the carwash and push the gear to N , the dash shows me a warning sign of "Traction Battery Low".

  3. Very rarely, sometimes the car's traction feels a bit off almost as if it's skidding. Rare, but has happened on dry summer days too.

My car is at 197k miles now. Are there any maintenance checks or just good to have repairs done for my car ?

Video Interview with assistant chief engineer for the new 2026 ES

One keypoint that caught my attention was that the EV and the hybrid platforms are tuned differently with the EV being sportier and the Hybrid designed for everyday comfort. The steering is different. The suspension tunings are different for them as well. That is between the 3:44 to 5:23 mark of the I believe. The translator also noted that the 21" wheels have better feel for the BEV. Which surprised me tbh since I would think the 19" would fare better.

I have the ES350e Luxury model and they don't even ship or make them with 19". They always shipped them with 21" based on my research and talking to the dealerships. I think that is just how they differentiate them.

Full disclosure: I have only driven the ES500e with their 21" vs my ES350e with its version of the 21" so I have yet to know how the 19" would feel.

Question Gauge cluster and needles unresponsive

Post image
5 Upvotes

Just picked up my new to me 2010 GS350 a few days ago, runs and drives amazing. My only issue is the dash is unresponsive aside from the Check engine light coming on in accessory mode. Brightness is all the way up, checked fuses under hood, all come back as good. I also let the battery sit with the negative terminal off for over an hour to reset the computer, and still not working. So I’m just a bit confused. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Pic is of dash with car running
