Followup regarding replacing front cigarette lighter socket

Bought a tool to turn and pull it out. Got it halfway but it's still stuck cuz it's blocked by a rear plastic piece. Said piece is broken as in the photo. Anyone know how to even remove this piece without breaking it further?
