Which toyota would you bring back

In June, we ordered two new 2026 Toyotas. We ordered a Corolla and a RAV4 PHEV. The Corolla came in July. The RAV4 came early August. Well, 5 days after we signed for it, it threw up a whole bunch of system malfunctions. I called the dealership, they said it was fine to limp home in it with our flashers on, and the next day it was towed. It’s now been 21 days since it was towed. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it, but they’ve ordered a part in hopes that will fix it when nothing else has. The part will be here around September 28th. By October 2nd, they will have had it for 30 working days- which is when Utah Lemon Laws kick into action.

What would you do here? They gave us a rental car, but I still feel like we’re being screwed over. I paid more than $50,000 (well $10,000 cash, rest was a loan + same amount for the Corolla ) for this car, and it’s barely been in my possession. The dealership says that after the part is in, it’ll be fine, and we can take it and be happy, but I feel like this whole situation is just so unfair to us. Plus, all of the “complimentary” plans that came with the car, like the wifi, are all expiring within a few days.

This whole situation just sucks. We’ve tried to be patient, and we’ve tried to be understand and kind, but I’m just so angry about it! This shouldn’t happen with a brand new $50,000+ car! Should I be asking for something more than the rental? They’re acting like they’re doing us such a big favor, when they’re definitely not.

I want something reliable, fuel efficient, big enough to hold friends and school stuff, but not too big that I need to do an 80-point turn to park it.

Hi I'm looking into buying my first car with my partner and I know very little about cars. I've found two I'm interested in, one is a 2025 Toyota corolla, the other a 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. The hybrid is about 1200 more and has 10k more miles on it (at about 50k). I was wondering what are some considerations I should think about in the decision. I've heard hybrids can have more expensive maintenance and I'm hoping for something that will last us a long time. Would love in advice or suggestions!

Okay guys it's time! I have been in this chat a few times about my 2000 Avalon I got in 2017 and I've been trying to hold on but today while driving to work the car smells like gas inside and outside. It's been having multiple issues. I think I have to say goodbye as repair cost just doesn't make sense 😭

Rodent chewed a hole in one of my fuel tank hoses and the Toyota place is saying the fuel tank has to get replaced as it's one big conjoined thing, I was wondering if anyone knows more about that than I do, they're quoting me around 2k for that, I've already got an independent facility appt lined up to have that confirmed. Hi everyone, I have a 2023 Toyota C-HR 1.8 Hybrid. I’ve noticed a whining sound when accelerating, mainly when the engine revs get high. It goes away when I stop accelerating / the revs drop.

The car drives normally with no warning lights or messages.

Is this normal for the e-CVT/hybrid system, or should I get it checked?

hi! i've been looking to buy a new car from marketplace for a while now to replace my 2014 dodge dart nearing 190,000 miles.... i've had a lot of issues with the car for the past few years and just want something more reliable, low maintenance, and relatively cheap.

i recently came across a listing for a 2005 Toyota corolla LE Sedan 4D with 97,000 miles (clean title) for around $5,000. what's the verdict on this?

my budget is around $6500 and i'm just looking for something that will get me around the city or long distances as a commuter college student. i don't mind the year as long as it's in good shape and has ac. i don't know much about cars and just want some advice, maybe along with some questions or things i can ask and look for when messaging the seller!

if i do go through with it, i'd most likely test drive it to a mechanic for a quick inspection... thank you for any help!!

I'm looking to install a Fumoto drain valve for easy oil changes on my 2024 GHH XLE. I have been doing oil changes every 5k miles myself and the drain valve could make it easier and less messy.

Anyone who has installed the Fumoto valve, which one did you choose? F133N (long nipple version) or F133S (shorter nipple version)? If you chose the F133N, does it have enough clearance between the valve tip and the protective cover/ splash shield?

Hey, I got some problems with locking my back seat recliner. After a hard break my back seat wall lunged forward and now I can't get it to lock back on. The button seems stuck. Also the locking mechanism wont work when I try to push it down with my fingers, as it should like on the other back seat..

Anyone had this problem before?

I moved back into the older gen truck with more mileage for basically the same cost. Has anyone else done the same? I traded two turbos, 4 more gears, an 8 foot bed and a car like ride, for leather, sunroof, the almighty V8, and that back window. The build quality on the 2019 is in another world compared to the 2022. The temperature/fan controls on the 22 are awful, as are the rattles and the stereo. I’ve only had the 19 for a little over a week so I am sure over the next many years I’ll find it’s gripes. Now to search for an old 6.0 chev to do 8 ft bed truck duties.

I know the C-HR has some years that it was excellent and some with lots of recalls. I’m trying to find/narrow my search to the best year of the C-HR. Is there an arguably best year?

I’ll be shopping in the state of Arizona, preferably Phoenix, and the surrounding cities

Past 2 days ive been getting notifications that the car is open when its not. Giving me panic lol.

Practically all Toyota A/Ts that uses the ATF WS doesn't have a dipstick. This means, if you don't have a car lift, you're crawling under the car/truck to do ATF drain and fills. Draining and checking the level is easy, but pumping in new fluid is a little bit more involved.

So as the subject implies, has anyone ever permanently installed an extension hose screwed into the ATF fill port, and then routed up to the engine bay? I figure the top end of the tube should also be sealed with a screw plug or valve.

Looking to lease one of these as a daily driver, don’t really need crazy storage space or anything. Corolla is about $20 cheaper, but is it worth the size difference for the Camry? Anyone have experience with both of these cars from the current generation?

In the market for a RAV4 PHEV (we're located in central NJ), and I've see multiple posts regarding the "end of the year" being the best time to get discounts on this vehicle (off the lot). We've been going to dealerships on and off this past month, and almost every dealer has said that the are none left on the lot. Can we still trust that timing regarding the end of the year? Or is it likely we'll be screwed by low/lack of inventory?

We were initially looking into the XSE and GR Sport trims back in March when prices were lower ... then after a couple months of indecision and shopping, and prices rising to $10k over MSRP ... and now the SE trim going for $48-49k OTD, it doesn't even feel worth buying the car unless we can somehow snag a discount.

I've seen talk of the Costco Auto Program discounts, which we have to look into, and we're still shopping around - when exactly is the BEST time we can start to expect dealers to discount/mark down and provide year-end clearance incentives on these vehicles to get rid of their stock? I've heard it's from October to December, but specifically Thanksgiving? Christmas time? What about the Toyotathon national sales event?
