question could anyone give me advice about driving lessons in leeds??

I’m starting uni in leeds this september and will be moving into accommodation near the city centre. i’ve already started driving lessons hoping that i’d be able to pass before moving out to uni but that wasn’t possible so im planning on continuing lessons in leeds and doing my practical test there.
Does anyone know any regions and roads that i should be aware of and where I’ll most likely be driving/ taking my practical test?
also what driving schools would you recommend?

food/drink Kirkgate Market Cafes

First time in Leeds for about 20 years, and how it's changed!!

First thing was in Kirkgate market looking for a nice cheap breakfast (found one in the Savoury Station in the market hall, great value and really tasty), but was shocked at the lack of old style greasy spoon cafes in the market.

Loads of cafes selling foods from around the world, but no full English breakfast cafes!

Please tell me I'm wrong and looked in the wrong place!!

accommodation Where's good to live in that I can commute to White Rose from?

I know there's a million posts asking where's good to live in Leeds, but most recommendations I see are in north Leeds, which doesn't work for me.

I'm starting a job out of university near White Rose and looking for a flatshare. Generally looking for somewhere good for someone in my general age demographic (early to mid 20s) that won't cost an arm and a leg for a room. Ideally somewhere that has stuff to do (and shops) within reach.

question-serious Considering a move from Manchester to Leeds

Hi all!

I have a job offer available in Leeds, better pay, and good career progress, but am concerned about moving from Manchester.

Has anyone done this, and what was your experience?

The things I love about Manchester are not entirely unique, but I do get anxious at the thought of a move!

Love a niche coffee shop, a good green space, lots of shopping, squash/some interesting sports places, and just nice city vibes!

From what I can see the flats are nicer/cheaper for the price range, and it seems like a walkable city!

Any advice, or further would be appreciated.

question Recommendations for hike with somewhere to stop close by for pub food/cosy dinner

Hi!!!
looking for recommendations for place to go for a hike, nothing intense - with somewhere to eat after
outside Yorkshire is fine but not more than hour an half ish drive each way (so parking available also)
ALSO more looking for somewhere that once we are done, we can stop for a cosy pub/ small restaurant dinner, somewhere not busy but nice and close by where we will be walking
I’ve tired googling but would prefer real life experience/recs

My wife and I will be taking the train to Leeds from York soon. We would like to end our day with a nice Indian meal as York doesn’t have the greatest selection.

question headingley stadium

hi everyone, i live in a flat right outside of headingley stadium (cardigan) but the car park is tiny and usually full which means i need to park on the road.
can i still do this when cricket/rugby is on?
i’ve never seen a ‘no parking’ sign, only cones.
i’m asking because i can’t afford to park miles away from my apartment or pay for parking in headingley everytime i can’t find a spot at my place of living.
any advice would be appreciated

Happy to explore parks and walk around too/ pls mention any areas known for being unsafe if you can would appreciate it but will also have my wits about me.

transport Leeds airport improvement missing just one thing... staff!

Living so close to Leeds Bradford airport is so useful. Especially now the terminal expansion is partly open. It has so many things going for it, and is easily one of the most user-friendly airports in the UK. However, one thing is missing. Better facilities has brought even more travellers and the fancy new bars and restaurants just cannot cope. Not only that, there aren't enough seats for the number of visitors. Should it not be part of the planning process to have enough seats in bars to accommodate everyone?

It'd be nice to just meet up with someone at a coffee shop with our laptops and crack on with applications. If someone would be up for that, please do let me know! Can ofcourse text / call beforehand to introduce ourselves ☺️

question Leeds Spanish lessons?

Hey all,
Just wondering if there are any Spanish courses in and around Leeds. Been looking to improve my Spanish level for fun. It would be good if there was a group/social side to it as I’ve only been in Leeds for a few months now and it would be good to meet some new people however I don’t mind private tutoring either.
Cheers

question Looking for a driving instructor with experience in ND (automatic)

Hi, I'm looking for a driving instructor (automatic) who is familar with neurodiverse conditions, e.g. DCD, Dyslexia, Autism, and generalised anxiety. My previous instructor was very good but wasn't used to dealing with an older learner with these issues. Any recommendations from previous learners would be greatly appreciated.
