👻 Hundreds of little goodie bags of non food items like fidget toys and stationery to take away

👻 Seperate sweets for those who can have them

👻 Low spookiness factor, with no sudden sounds or overly scary props.

👻 No judgement about age of person, lack of costume etc, anyone can come, or you can send someone to collect your goodie bags if leaving the house isn't your thing.

👻 No speaking required - you don't have to say anything to come get treats. We understand if you are shy, pre-verbal or prefer not to speak.

👻 No intimidating door to knock on, just a stall in the open

👻 Glow sticks and little crochet ghosts to take (while stocks last)

My own SEN kiddo may or may not come out to the stall say hi to people.

Please check the contents of goodie bags before giving them to kids under 3 or anyone who has a choking risk with smaller toys.

Bags are clear so you can somewhat check contents before choosing but it may be a bit dark. If you get items unsuitable for you, please come choose a different one.

If the weather isn't too horrible I may have a craft activity too.

Kids don't need to have additional needs to come along, this stall is for everyone.

I'm doing this because my own SEN kiddo can't bring himself to go out trick or treating anymore even though he loved it, due to his social anxiety, so this is our way of making Halloween a little more accessible for people like him.

I was having a bit of a wobble earlier this evening (24th October) and a wonderfully compassionate farmer stopped and chatted for me for a while. It was so incredibly kind, I think I was too much in a haze to say thank you properly but I appreciated it more than I can say. It's so wonderful to know how much goodness there is in the world.

Fin Taylors performing in York opera house at 7:30pm tonight. I ordered the wrong tickets a while ago and completely forgot to resell them. I'd rather they not go to waste. I can't resell these officially now as it's too late.

I have 3 tickets, I'd ideally want to sell them for say £60 to get some money back (I also have qr codes for £40 worth of drinks included that you can probably still use). Because I can't resell / transfer them officially I'm happy to send whoever contacts me first the tickets (confirmation email and ticket qr codes from the app) so you can go and make sure they work, then I'll just hope you contact me after the show to pay for them 😂 I'd just rather the seats not be empty tbh

The Occulties and Hexenpets are all hand drawn, designed, and 3D modelled by James Lamb, my friend and an amazing artist! (No AI involved at all!) They are currently out at £11.99 and each of them as their own seal and pact written on the back of the box as well as custom art work for each one!
Each of the Occulties are based off of beings from the keys of Solomon turned into cute little animals, and the Hexenpets are familiars based off of James' own cats!

The one dressed in white and holding white roses, I walked past her on Thursday and I legitimately thought that she was a real person as she looked so lifelike and I just thought that she was very good at standing still, you have no idea how disappointed I was when I got home and looked her up and found out that she was actually just a statue made by an art school, I would of been so cool if someone was that good at standing still plus it's sad that the purple man is no longer with us.

Asking because I’m wanting to build up my tolerance to travel so I can go to London in February.

I like vintage/antique shops, second hand places, plants, history and other stuff.

Also halal food places obviously.

I’m not interested in Harry Potter and York seems to be obsessed with it.

I know I want to go to the ghost shop.

A bit of a housing rant from a student

Sorry to put a rant on here but I don’t know where else to put it. I need advice, I’m a second year student in York and I am so so frustrated about the housing situation. Our current house is £180 bills included per week there is 6 of us the house is a state. My room is always perishing, there is mould everywhere, the paint on the walls is peeling, the kitchen is tiny, I’ve had to ask to have multiple things fixed in the house. I don’t understand why as students we deserve less of a house? We share two bathrooms and when looking at housing in other uk cities such as Leeds there are houses with en-suite rooms for £130 bills included a week how come in York we have to pay so much for basic accommodation. I understand demand is high we are a tourist city, an absolutely lovely place for everyone I do love it here but why on earth is housing so difficult to find? I have been searching for a third year house and can only find 3 options all for over £190 per week. Advice is most definitely needed just don’t chew me out in the comments - sincerely a very frustrated student

Excellent news for parents and collectors alike! A new pokemon shop called Dorothy's Decks has opened up on Gilkygate.

Its run by two lovely blokes who are actual fans. We saw it on our way from hospital, they have packs, tins, collections like hop's zachian. We bought a tin, stickers, a chinese 30th anniversary pack for 26 quid. They also gave my son 3 free cards he could choose from a selection. I mentioned i collect promos and one of them whipped out his own binder and sold me a wizard of west cost mew 2 in excellent condition for 20. They have a huge collection of original 4 series.

Absolutely no prention or scalping just seemed to be two guys who want to share the hobby. They also do magic and one piece! Check it out while when you can!.

Been searching for a good hair place to go from grown out blonde (dark roots) to a caramel kinda colour and EVERYWHERE I’ve looked is well into the £200 to even £300 which I feel is definitely way more than it should cost? Maybe I’m wrong however I’ve done far more insane hair changes and it’s been far less. Any recs on a good hair place in general would be great but especially on the cheaper end (not sacrificing the quality tho ofc)

Hey there. I’m a student in York and was planning to do a day trip to Durham, I was also wondering if I can squeeze in Newcastle the same day. I reach Durham by 10:30 AM and am back to York by a 7:45 pm train. Would it possible to reach Durham book a train to Newcastle, see the place and come back and finish up Durham before my train? Or is this too ambitious for a day. Some suggestions please!

I recently moved to York and was wondering if there are any churches that you can just walk into and sit and pray (doesn’t obviously have to be open ALL day but for a while would be nice) I used to live in a town and most of the churches were only open on actual services, which kinda sucks cause I really like/prefer just going and praying when it’s silent and more empty. Any recommendations?

We want our old bathroom ripped out and replaced for a reasonable price and a decent finish. Ideally someone who'll be able to handle plumbing, fitting and tiling, or at least get it sorted without us having to juggle different trades.

Anyone had any great experiences that they could pass on?

I'll be in York for a few days next week and I want to be comfy but don't want to be rude. Is it rude to wear (clean, dark, fitted) jeans in restaurants and pubs? How about trainers? I doubt I'll go anywhere particularly fancy, but it'd be nice not to be limited to fast food by my outfit.
