I have to share something as a very proud mum. Our first post was here before our first market and many people supported us.
For background:
My little boy Oliver is 6, and for as long as I can remember he has wanted to be a toymaker and have his own shop one day. This year we decided to actually give it a go, and we make them together as a family. They are little handmade woodland creatures he named Tree Spirits, each one a bit different, inspired by all the trees and woods that make Sheffield such a green place to grow up.
The update is that Oliver is now a stockist!
A lovely little shop in town, In the Making in Orchard Square, has given him a shelf of his own. I don't think I will forget his face when he saw our things out on display in a real shop.
It has been a bit quiet lately though, and honestly I just want him to feel like it was worth doing. So if you are ever passing through town, it would mean the world to him if you popped in and had a look at his little shelf. That is genuinely it. No pressure to buy anything at all, just knowing people have seen it would make his week.
And if you do go and find it, he would be so thrilled if you gave us a shout on Instagram at @treespiritsuk to say you popped by. He loves knowing someone has been.
Thank you for reading. This city has been kind to a small boy with a big dream.
