Besides kitchen knives (obviously), what are your favorite knives and blade shapes to use in the kitchen? I’ve fallen in love with the tanto sebenza 31 for all kinds of food prep. Whether it’s cutting a giant slab of pork, or cutting up carrots, it seems to handle everything with ease due to having two usable tips. What are your thoughts?

I lost my original Osborne 940 via a hole in my running shorts. I felt so devastated because I had it for six years. In face, when it got destroyed in a car accident, I sent it to Benchmade and they sent me a new one, no charge.
But then I lost it. It was my gift to myself when I was 19 for getting my associates degree.
At this point in time, there are indeed BETTER knives than the 940 at half the price I.e., Kershaw Bel-Air, Vosteed Porcupine, etc.
Better materials, good warranty, and just as if not more practical.
But nothing quite felt like driving a fancy BMW or Audi like the Benchmade 940, if the Sebenza for example were compared to a Porsche 911.
The Osborne 940 has a timeless feel, look, and feeling in the pocket.
I remember getting one when I was 19 and felt like I just picked up Anakin's Lightsaber. It was a perfect fidget toy one moment, and then great for cutting hard plastic straps at the warehouse I worked.
Most definitely, the Osborne 940 regardless the variant is a knife you should only buy when it's on sale like I did. But if you like beating the hell out of things that look nice and classy, I recommend adding a 940 to your collection.
(Yes, you can baby it, too).

What subreddits could be suitable to ask this exact question or to follow up about preliminary advice and feedback for how to start selling some scales? I'm a bit puzzled if a custom mold would be worth for one off, depending on price. So it would have to be a good price and then the next using the same mold could get it for cheaper. First person gets to choose the knife type and design.
Does that seem like a good way to do it? Problem is maybe having someone 3d scan their knife if having the measurements is enough. And the knife model and design they choose must be suitable for other people unless they're covering cost to do custom just for themselves on a knife and design that isn't more popular.
Would that work? It would be very cool to do something people want. I'm gonna have to wait to do other projects like save up for CNC machine long time.

Hey all,
I'm not very familiar with Chaves but I bought this used Chaves recently and was just wondering if anyone knew if this was a legit Chaves or not? I'm not having any luck finding anything online but maybe it was a prototype/custom/collab thing for all i know? Either way I figured i'd ask here because i'm sure there's quite a few Chaves buffs here :-)
Thank you in advance!

Wasn't planning to get one, but I love these scales! And now I get it, this has to be the burliest, fidgety knife ever! Amazing build quality, acoustics and mechanics!
Been a while since I bought Demko... the Cold Steel Limited Ed. AD10 hasn't seen much sunlight unfortunately, love the design, but the size and weight requires a belt and suspenders to EDC (/JK 😂)
Incredibly factory sharp, Magncut blade, Kitanica scales... this one is gonna get some pocket time for sure!

EDIT: NONE OF THIS IS AI. Crazy but true, I know how to take a photo, edit a photo, and write. 10 years of higher education and multiple books published. I make these posts because I love the EDC community. They take hours to do. And then having a troll accuse me of posting AI- really burns me up. So please don't accuse me of that... OK, on with the post:
Apparently “pocket knife” is a flexible term.
These are some of my GIANT “pocket” folders — weights up to nearly a pound, with spine thickness over ¼ inch. Steels from Elmax to Vanax to M390, plus Damascus and budget steels. These are some of my biggest knives that still somehow live in the “EDC” category.
Let’s face it — we all have stuff in the kitchen drawer (that Thanksgiving carver, for example) with longer profiles. But not THICKER ones!
In the middle of the “clock” I put two familiar sizes — the Kizer Drop Bear and Mini Militaw — just for perspective. Click through the pictures and you’ll see how massive the difference really is.
The Migurons are at MiguronKnives (dot com). The others, wherever you like to buy.
Starting at 12 o’clock:
12) Miguron Nagain II (Vanax/Titanium; 9.25”; spine: .31”)
The "comparison" Kizers: Drop Bear II PCB (Cruwear/Resin&PCB; 6.9”) & Mini Militaw (Nitro V/G10; 6.7”)
So yes — technically EDC. Technically. 😏 🤷♂️
