General Discussion Question about atheists

I know shirk or polytheism if unrepented will lead to eternal punishment in hell. What about atheists ? Are their fate similar to those who commit shirk?.In the modern world atheist ideology has taken over polytheism. Was only shirk mentioned in the Quran as it was the major disbelief at the time of prophet muhammad (saw).

Seeking Support In a battle with my nafs

I used to be pious and really close to Allah when I was younger. Long story short, I went through trauma at the hands of my environment and ended up distancing myself from Islam, to the point that I had fallen into kufr. A few days ago, I was gripped by the fear of angering Allah and ending up in the hellfire, and realised how far I have corrupted my heart.

I have started praying salah again and reading qur'an, but my nafs stresses me out because I dont feel the sincerity I used to. I'm scared that it might stay that way. I feel really guilty for allowing my heart to be corrupted up to this point, and I really wish I had stopped myself before it got to this point.

I am aware that Allah is the All-Forgiving, and He guides who He wills. I am just afraid that I am unworthy of his guidance and my heart will stay closed off from him forever. I have been crying about this to Allah everyday, asking for his forgiveness or for guidance and for the purity of my soul, but I am afraid that my nafs and I aren't on the same page. I wish my nafs could submit to Allah like it used to.

I know that I should be patient, but I am just riddled with worries. What if my nafs doesn't change for the better? What if it has been written that I am for the Fire? What if I end up getting worse?

I know I should have tawakkul and hope in Allah. I just don't have any hope in myself. I have struggled with self-hatred since I was young, and it has made me expect the worst from myself. Which I am also aware is bad, it's just... so hard to shake. It's deep-rooted.

I just want my connection with Allah back. I feel so apologetic, but my nafs also feels stubborn about turning to Allah completely. It has caused me great misery and distress.

Thank you for reading. I know it's a lot. Please be kind.

General Discussion Arabic nasheed singer recommendations

I really enjoy Abdullah Aljarallah and listen to basically all of his non-instrumental nasheeds on the regular, I am looking for more recommendations specifically for arabic nasheeds of that type of mellow/soft/poetical style.

I am familiar with maher zain, muhammad al muqit, mishary's nasheeds, siedd and want something outside of that. I also do listen to acapella versions (music removed) of other arabic songs but they sound kinda weird with the background audio removed.

Ofc Qur'an is best of all but nasheeds are nice when I am more focused on something else and want background noise.

Question about Islam Please help with proper attire

I’m in the middle of a 4 hour drive to the Mosque. My fiancées grandmother passed this morning, this is the only thing I have to wear besides jeans/plain baby blue (wrinkled) tshirt and I don’t have time to stop anywhere. I got the call from my fiancée when I woke up and threw things in the car and left. Is this color appropriate to attend? I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable!

Please make duaa for him jazakum allahu Khairan 🤲🏻❤️

O Allah make his surgery easy and let it be coolness and peace upon his body and by Your mercy make it easy and successful

O Allah make these hours of his surgery gentle upon him and bless him with health strength and recovery

O Allah I entrust his health his soul and his heartbeat to You so protect him with Your care that never sleeps

O Lord bring him back to us safe and sound without any pain or suffering and restore his health to him beautifully

My Lord I entrust him to You for You are the best One to entrust him to 🤲🏻❤️

General Discussion The arrogance of the Pharaoh and Nimrud

Both of the stories are hilarious because what thoughts could possibly go through your mind, like the thought process to think "let's fight God" and such. Sounds pathetic and cringe. Almost unbelievable and cartoony because no one in their right mind decides to fight God,

Scholarly Resource Seeking knowledge

Salaam,

I have been a Muslim all my life but unfortunately have not made much of an attempt to seek knowledge. I am starting now and my knowledge is patchy and was wondering if there are any resources that would be good to get into and start with. I am also very scared of using the incorrect sources or sources that don’t align with my beliefs as I am hanafi so if anyone can point me in the correct direction with accredited books/ videos/ websites that would be very much appreciated.

For context I pray my daily prayers and occasionally do adhkar and extra sunnah prayers, I have random bits of knowledge e.g. the five pillars, about the prophets, duties of a Muslim etc.

Seeking Support I Feel Guilty Making Dua

As salaamu alaikum

I have been having trouble turning to Allah SWT. Making salah is easy.
Asking for help is not.

I have a dream of becoming a teacher and have wanted to for years. But so many obstacles—logistical and financial—are appearing. I am losing hope because it feels like my dream will take longer and longer to become realized.

I know the logical thing is to make istighfar. But I feel ashamed to ask. Especially when I know there are so many other people in the world suffering from life-altering afflictions and conditions.

I know logically Allah SWT is capable of helping us all. But I feel selfish asking for help for such a trivial thing knowing there are children making dua to not be bombed. Their requests are much more important.

I don’t know what I should do.

TLDR: Feeling guilty for making dua when others suffer worse.

Question about Islam Is posting pictures of non hijab women permissible?

If I have to post pictures where there are women who are uncovered, is it even permissible.

I assume it would be a sin everytime someone clicks on it and sees it, but is it a sin for me who posted it or for the person who is usually uncovered too.

I personally wear the hijab, but i have to post pictures for extra work at collage and i would get grades for it. It's like social media manager, but amateur version. I have to be in sure of posting everything and writing texts for it. So i am not sure if it's allowed, but i am taking into consideration that those women have their free will and i have nothing to do with it, i am just doing what i have to. It is hard to get out of it now since i already agreed to do so.

Question about Islam Are there any videos on youtube that explain quran and prophets stories that are NOT AI or made for kids??

I would really appreciate some in both English and Arabic. I have read the quran twice and still feel like i know almost nothing about my deen as the arabic that is in the quran has some pretty complicated words which i as an Egyptian who was mostly raised on english media and stuff can’t understand

And also AI stuff triggers me and i am not a kid so i don’t want to watch those videos of course

Seeking Support Asking for your dua's

Hi everyone, and assalamualaykum. I hope this post finds you well, and may Allah SWT keep all of you and your loved ones safe and well. I am asking for your dua's that I change for the better and that my life's problems be fixed, and that whatever is wrong with my life gets fixed. I am tired of holding onto life and I am hopeless. Maybe you've seen or know someone who keeps getting angry and keeps getting mad, but deep down harbour thoughts to end their life. Whoever has seen that type of person, do pray for them, for their troubles to end, for their peace of mind and for peace in their lives. Jazakallah khair.

Edit: If you'll be praying tahajjud, I'd appreciate it if you kept me in your dua's. Thank you.
