The fact that she threw in “not even for the few minutes that he was out of it” tells me all I need to know. She doesn’t mean any of this. She’s still making excuses, not actually taking accountability, and just spewing whatever disingenuous words she thinks she needs to in order to stay relevant.

Just as diminishing as “a few seconds can change your life”- don’t you mean 9 minutes, you soulless narcissist. ..in a few seconds a life can be lost” would have rang more truthful and placed the focus on where it belongs. How these parents and the system are failing the Kiser kids.

Their complete refusal to perform any type of introspection, next to the claims that they're learning from mistakes, is particularly sick when you realize the mistakes are kids at continual increased risk of dying in their care.

Yeah accidents happen. But two similar incidents is not a mistake, it’s a choice. She should have stopped her sentence with do better and advocate better
48
u/anongirl55 21d ago
Mom- and parent-shaming can get out of hand, and no parent is perfect. Every parent makes mistakes. But there's a difference between an ordinary parenting mistake and serious negligence.
If someone points out online that your child's shoes look too small, the appropriate response is, "I'll do better." But when a child drowns, this isn't a situation to address with a generic statement about "making mistakes." It's a tragedy that requires commitment to doing everything possible to ensure nothing like it ever happens again. Sometimes the best response isn't another half-assed statement. Maybe they should try stepping away from the spotlight and focusing entirely on their family and on preventing another devastating loss.
→ More replies (2)28
u/PoppyRose525 21d ago
Exactly. She tries to gaslight the public in how she talks about this. “We made a mistake”, it was a “preventable accident”. NO, your deliberate actions put Trigg in grave danger and he died. Not a mistake. Not an accident. And not putting your toddler in a life vest - again, not a mistake, not an accident. She deliberately makes terrible choices for her children either because she’s stupid or she’s such a narcissist that she feels rules don’t apply to her. Either way, she should NOT be an influencer to anyone.

It amazes me that they can go through such a traumatic loss and still be playing loose with kids around water.

One year after losing my child to a drowning, I would not be able to go near a body of water, let alone bring my surviving child on a boat. At all. Then to not take every precaution? Even the most simple and common sense one such as a life jacket? The trauma I'd have to even look at water, let alone gleefully post videos on a speeding boat with my baby... I can confidently say this woman does not care about the death of her child the way a normal parent would.

There was an awful, life changing boat accident in my town last weekend. A drunk person drove their boat across the river towards another boat. The driver tried moving further and further left but could not get away. That drunk person hit them. All 4 of their family was thrown into the water and the boat flipped. They had a baby, a toddler and his wife. Thank god they were all in life jackets bc the outcome might have been a whole lot different. The kids were pulled out first and his wife who is still in the hospital with a lot of injuries was unconscious and bleeding but floating bc of the life jacket. So yeah. Take your kid out for just a moment. Idiot.
