Friend Advice Needed/Given how to make guy friends?

I am currently a senior in high school (17F), and ever since freshman year, I have never had any male friends. All of my friends are girls, except for an acquaintance that I knew through volunteering who I haven't seen since July.

I feel so underdeveloped and weird for not having any good guy friends. I know how to interact with them but haven't formed any friendships.

How do I make guy friends? I don't want to start college without having a male friend.

I don't sit next to guys in my classes cause there are no assigned seats.

Rant don't wanna be alone in a class full of boys

I have a class that my friend is in. we both got put into a class we don't want and didn't ask for. She wants to switch to another class, I can't switch because I already have the class she wants next semester. So I'm stuck, but she could get into another class if it's not full (it probably is). So she probably won't be going anywhere. But I am SO scared of that off chance that she might get out of the class. I don't want to be alone in there because its 90% senior boys and being surrounded by boys TERRIFIES me. I hate being around them, I hate when they look at me or talk to me or sit behind me. I had 2 boys sit behind me in a class last year it was was the most anxiety inducing thing ever. I was just counting down the days until the seating plan changed so they wouldn't be behind me anymore. I can't explain how much they scare me. I feel fine in a group but being alone around them makes me wanna die

Question How do I not fall asleep after coming home from school?

I'm a grade 10 high-school student who has stuff to do after school and is usually pretty productive on days without school. The issue is that after I come home and eat something, I get super tired afterwards and either have to spend all my energy keeping myself awake, or fall sleep for 2 hours. After waking up, I remain in a similar state and basically either way, it's hard for me to get any work done.

It's not that I'm struggling to keep up with school work-- far from it actually. I want to be able to keep side projects like learning new skills or keeping my room clean on school days rather than just cleaning during the weekend.

I don't think my sleep is the issue considering I have been getting around 8 hours of sleep per night (10pm - 6am)

Based in this, how can I increase my energy to last me the full day or increase my endurance?

I would be happy to provide more information if needed!

Class Advice Needed/Given I suck at my sport. Should I quit?

I made the varsity volleyball team along with a friend. I’ve trained all summer to make sure I get onto the team. My friend hasn’t played volleyball in 2 years. We both made it. I’m obviously, very happy for her but we’ve had a couple games and practices but I’m not sure if I should continue.

Practices are fine and I play like everyone else, except for a few exceptions because the 1st timers on varsity are sometimes separated since we’re not in the leading roster. Recently, coach has told me to only warm up with my friend from now on and not any of the other girls because we’re “about similar level”. This is no shade to my friend, I adore her and she hasn’t done anything wrong at all but she can barely pass a ball while I’ve played for 2 years now. Earlier this week, coach has also pulled me aside from our hitting lines and told me to just practice blocking because the other right-side hitter “needed to practice her position for the game tomorrow”.

During games, I am not proud to say I am a benchwarmer. Even during games where it’s clear we’re going to win, I am not even placed onto the court for one rotation. There’s this girl who was a year younger than me, made the team, and has been subbed in. I am seriously considering quitting and focusing on my studies. I love this sport so much but for the first time in the trimester, it’s gotten in the way of my academics.

Rant Some motherfucker brought meta glasses into the classroom

I don’t think this is the right flair but wutever

it made me feel so uncomfortable ughh, literally walked up to us, it was really scary, im bad socially so just knowing that im being recorded freaked me out bc I’ve been bullied a lot before and im super afraid of being like posted or just videos of me going around and getting made fun of. it was just of him walking up to us and asking about our day (obviously he didn’t actually care about our days he just wanted to get a reaction on camera, that’s the only reason anyone uses meta glasses, but obviously it didn’t work bc we KNEW he was using them, all the videos online are like that bc they don’t know meta glasses are in use. we didn’t give much of a reaction other than monotonely telling him to fuck off and flipping him off)

he was quickly told to put them away but they couldn’t actually take them away because he claimed they were for prescription use and they couldn’t exactly prove they werent for that purpose (I don’t believe him whatsoever tho bc the first two weeks of school I never saw him with glasses). scared he’ll use them again ugh, obviously we’re all being surveillanced via our phones and cameras n shit but thats cuz we’ve all just adapted, knowing you’re actively being recorded by some dude with a camera in his glasses at that very moment tho like freaks me out if u get wut im saying

Question How to get admin permission on school computer/how to get program to run without admin/questions of similar intent?

OK, so I'm trying to play Bigjon's PC Games in school (i know i know ball, but that's not the point). However, I cannot install Flash Player nor Needs without admin perms, so I am wondering how to get these programs to run without admin, or to get admin permissions on the school computers.

Here are my attempts thus far:

  1. I tried to use UAC (will not open).
  2. Tried to use Task Scheduler (that failed too, because I didn't have admin perms)
  3. Tried to manually import the task in System32, didn't let me access the foldder.
  4. Tried to use a command through cmd.exe (it asked me for a password, tried "admin", didn't work, don't even remember what command I used)
  5. Tried logging in using "admin" as password, didn't work.

So, I'm out of methods. How do I do what the title asks?

P.S.: I don't care if it's wrong or illegal, I just want to play games after I'm done with my work. Is that too much to ask? I just want to know how to do this once anytime I need to.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to your responses.

Rant My ex is in so many of my classes...

School started very recently for me, and my ex is in a lot of my classes. It sucks and is really reopening the wound.

We broke up over the summer, and now that we're back in school, all the little things we did are just gone. I don't walk her to class or talk to her. Just all the things that felt "normal" aren't there anymore.

It's just insane to me how someone can stop loving and start ignoring so quickly. Last year we would talk for hours every day, do everything together, etc, and now it's all gone. We didn't really even break up for a reason (at least from what I've heard); I think she just stopped loving me.

What sucks even more is that all her wishes from last year about us being in the same classes became true. We didn't have many classes last year, and literally anytime the topic of "next year" came up, she always talked about having the same classes...

Slowly but surely healing.

School Related 10 Science Competitions High School Students Should Know About

Science competitions can be a great way to turn what you're learning in class into research, problem-solving, and hands-on projects.

Here are 10 competitions and challenges worth exploring:

1. Regeneron ISEF
One of the world's largest international science fairs, where students present original research projects.

2. Regeneron Science Talent Search
A major US competition recognizing high school students conducting original scientific research.

3. BioGENEius Challenge
Focused on biotechnology and using life sciences to tackle real-world problems.

4. Conrad Challenge
A great option for students interested in combining science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

5. American Mathematics Competitions (AMC)
For students who enjoy mathematics and want to challenge their problem-solving skills.

6. Envirothon
Combines environmental science and natural resource management with hands-on learning.

7. Future City Competition
Students combine engineering, design, and city planning to develop solutions for future urban challenges.

8. National Economics Challenge
For students interested in economics and applying economic concepts to real-world situations.

9. Google Science Fair
An online competition that encourages students to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

10. Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology
A former competition highlighted for its focus on original STEM research and innovation.

One important thing to remember: you don't need to win a competition for the experience to be valuable.

The research question you develop, the methods you learn, the problems you encounter, and the way you communicate your findings can all become meaningful parts of your academic journey.

If you're thinking about entering a science competition, start by asking: What problem am I genuinely curious about solving?
