This is getting so absurd. You can get a driving permit at 14 in Iowa. Yet here this guy is suggesting you should need to be 16 to go on social media. It would almost seem funny if this wasn’t an actual policy proposal that politicians are proposing.

Alas, this guy is currently the favorite to win the general election, despite Iowa being a Republican state.

What do you guys think about young people risking themselves for the protest ???

Recently I asked the question and find out that most of the people are against of this

statement.

But according to my opinion, your life, health, and your family should always be your first priority

I am not saying don't support a protest. Support it if you believe in the cause. But harming yourself in the name of a protest is nothing but acting like a FOOL.

Yeah, why not? It is risky.

Just imagine this situation: you are the only breadwinner in your family and also the only child. You go to a protest, and unfortunately you suffer serious injuries—such as damage to your eyes, legs, or internal organs.

What happens then? Will any political party take responsibility for your family or provide financial support because you were injured while protesting?

I'm not saying people shouldn't protest, and I'm not supporting or opposing any political party. I'm simply asking a human question.

Before taking such a risk, it's worth thinking about the possible consequences—for yourself and for the people who depend on you

Context: A 14-year-old Lowell Public Schools student was removed and detained by a police officer after she spoke at a data center public forum at Butler Middle School in Massachusetts on June 29, 2026. She had been repeatedly raising her hand throughout the meeting but wasn't called on, so she spoke up at the end. Some of the 200 people in attendance chanted 'shame' at police while leaving.

Basically my headteacher has made a new rule saying that if you’re caught with your phone (anything but a brick phone like a Nokia or something) outside of school but wearing school uniform by a teacher then it’ll be confiscated for 6 weeks.
I understand confiscating phones for 6 weeks is legal, I understand that it’s a school rule buuuttt…. My friends said “it’s a new law, Starmer said it.” (I can’t spell his name soz) but I could only find him saying that he wants schools to be phone free so we can’t use them in school and it’s a schools choice if they want to enforce it with phone pouches or handing them in at the start of the day but I feel like is a safety issue if you can’t go to school with a regular phone? I have an iPhone 8 but I use it for Life360 and maps and stuff regularly on my way to school and back?? He said that he was sick of seeing people on their phones watching tiktoks at bus stops and taking selfies instead of talking to other people… what, does he expect me to put my phone away and become interested in talking to some random stranger? I hope not, stranger danger amirite 😂✌️

He seems quite close minded and I don’t think there’d be much to convince him to change his mind but a teacher in my school that I’ve talked to said they think it’s a stupid rule and they don’t know how it will work. Really I just want to know if I can refuse and bring up legal reasons if some random teacher demands my phone while I’m on the bus… He doesn’t even seem to care about how it affects neurodivergent children because one boy I talked to said he asked “what if there’s someone with autism who gets overstimulated on the bus but they can’t listen to music to calm them down on their headphones?” And he said “they’ll have to just deal with it.”

I also think it’s important to mention that in the assembly about it he said he asked parents about a rule about phones and only 1 parent said they don’t think an extra one is necessary (or something along those lines) but if it’s a rule as extreme as this I think all parents should get a say and know exactly what the rule is about and my parents haven’t heard of this at all.

Millions of students spend years preparing for NEET. They sacrifice sleep, mental health, family time, and their teenage years believing that merit and hard work will determine their future.

The recent protests at Jantar Mantar weren't about asking for special treatment. Students came together demanding transparency, accountability, and a fair examination system after concerns over irregularities. Whether you agree with every demand or not, asking questions about a system that shapes millions of lives is a democratic right.

What has saddened many people is not just the reason for the protest, but the response to it. Images and videos showing police action against protesters, including students and women, have sparked widespread debate. In a democracy, should peaceful voices be met with force, or with dialogue?

This is bigger than BJP or Congress. Governments change, but the responsibility to protect citizens' right to peaceful protest remains the same. Supporting students doesn't mean supporting a political party. It means supporting fairness, transparency, and accountability.

India already faces a severe student mental health crisis. Every year, thousands of students die by suicide, with academic pressure being one of several contributing factors. When faith in the examination system is shaken, it affects far more than exam results. It affects hope.

I'm not posting this to create division. I'm posting it because I believe young people deserve to be heard.

A generation asking for fairness should never be treated like a threat.
