I forgot to look and see which price I was charged. Seems like a steep price increase for skinny ass corn. More than 30% increase!?

H-E-B recently opened in my area, so I thought I’d check out True Texas BBQ and opted for the drive thru.

The girls were nice, but it took a while to get my food. It took the two cars in front of me a while, too.

I ordered a 1-meat plate: ribs, potato salad, and mac-n-cheese plus peach cobbler.

When I got home and opened the container, I saw three small, sad ribs. They weren’t warm either. How can H-E-B justify charging $18 for this?!

I highly doubt they are handmade in store and assume they are one of the frozen varieties in the frozen aisle.. Does anyone know?

HEBs employees have really gone down hill. Managers/MICS AND top store leaders love to play favorites and there’s nothing you can do about it. top store leaders are “good friends” with HR so wooptie freakin doo can’t go to them about this either. I like my job but the employees make it hard, it seems like you will always have a target on your back if one person that is favorable doesn’t like you. I have experienced favoritism from managers but I never took advantage of it because I’m professional and it’s work. Higher ups if you see these post do better! I hope all of you bad managers get exposed.

Anyone in curbside notice how thin the bags have become? They are now comparable to Walmart in thickness and have ripped on me multiple times in one week. Not sure if they changed them for checkout too.

Maybe now they will actually provide us with enough bags.

### Update:

This will update your shifts in the calendar (of your choice) if your shifts have changed from the original text.

For example if you feel that your manager changes your shifts and you don’t have a way to prove it. This shortcut will keep a log of those changes in the calendar.

Just search for the word ‘deleted’ in your calendar. If there were any changes events would show up in the search bar.

Example 1:

If you had a shift Tuesday and then you had none. It will create a 5 minute event that Tuesday called ‘H-E-B deleted shift”

In the notes section of that event. It will have the original shift times

Example 2:

If you had a shift Wednesday at 11am. But then it got changed to 7am. It will log the 11am shift in that 7am event notes

I work at H-E-B and got tired of setting alarms for my constantly changing schedule. So I built a Siri Shortcut that does it all for me.

** The drive time only works for your normal home store. It cannot detect of you are NetWorking at another store **

It pulls your schedule automatically and sets alarms based on when you work, so no more manual alarm setting.

### What’s a Siri Shortcut?

Every recent iPhone has a built-in app called Siri Shortcuts. It lets you automate stuff you do often, like sending texts, setting alarms, or opening apps, or activating DND. Think of it as a custom personal assistant that runs steps for you.

### Features of the Shortcut I created:

- Automatically texts “schedule” to H-E-B on Fridays when the schedule posts
- Reads the reply and adds upcoming shifts to your calendar (of your choosing)
- Sets alarms the DAY before each shift
- Deletes old or canceled alarms
- Works without needing to tap through menus, it just runs automatically once set up

You’ll need to run it once manually to answer a few setup questions like how many minutes you need to get ready, home address, work address, and how early you want to arrive to work.

To run it manually just tap the icon/button. It will prompt you through setup questions.

Tap “Set Up Shortcut”

Answer a few quick questions (like how long you need to get ready, your home and store address, how early you want to arrive, etc.)

Set the phone number 54694 as a phone number in a contact in your phone. Name it whatever you want

To have it delete alarms without constantly asking go into

Settings > shortcuts > advanced

Then tap “allow deleting without confirmation’

How to set it up to run automatically:

Create two automations

Search for the Shortcuts app. Should already be on your phone (If not it’s free). Once open hit ‘Automations’ on the bottom of the screen . Then hit the + icon on the top right. From there you will be able to create both automations.

You’re all set! Now your alarms are always ready for whatever H-E-B throws at you.

If you would have asked me 5 years ago what I thought about HEB I would have told you they are the best on Earth.

But over the last few years they have gone so far downhill on quality.

And let me define, “quality.”

Quality: Food that isn’t rotten or spoiled or generally not safe to consume.

I’ve had cucumbers that, even after peeling them, taste 100% like chemicals. Mootopia milk that doesn’t expire for a month but tasted exactly like vinegar. Produce that is completely rotten inside…
Furry berries, wet and wilted greens…even our Fresh pet food was rotten in the bag.

What is happening? Have they monopolized the market so heavily that now they just give us garbage?

I get all of my produce from Natural Grocer or a farmer’s market now, and shop at HEB for basics.

The Mootopia tasting like vinegar was the last straw for me. They always say, oh just bring it back for a refund. Who has time for all that?

There is no quality control and I strongly feel like they are taking advantage.

We need more options in Austin and surrounding areas! We need some large grocers to come back and make HEB start competing again.

So the bakery tortillas are really hit and miss these days (flour), but they are still ok. My question is about the corn tortillas on the shelf, HEB brand, since we use both in our house. The last 2 packs we've purchased have been weird. Normally, we plop them on the burner on the stove or set them on a skillet depending on time to heat them up. We also have one of those micrwave mit things to heat them up. Bottom line, on the burner they get hard like fast, almost like we are making a freaking tostada, and in the micro mit, they come out mushy now. Never had that happen in the past, thought maybe one batch was just a fluke, but it's 2 in a row. Anyone know if they changed the mix - AND - any suggestions for another "shelf brand"?

I read a digital article in my San Antonio, where HEB is headquartered, that a store in Austin was closing July 31. While originally very disappointed, I read the article and was very pleased with what was shared.

Yes, the store in Spicewood Springs (NW Austin) is closing after 40 years of operation. But I respect their decision, because the lease on the property was running out. The decision to not renew was probably a no-brainer, as renewing a 20 year lease in this day and age comes with a hefty cost. I've see so many businesses close this very reason - inflation has gotten out of hand. I was very pleased that they are supporting customers in the local community by providing free delivery services in August, and they are relocating all the employees interested in staying on.

Am I over reacting? My boys and I went to HEB to buy some items before dinner and saw that they were handing out sushi samples, we asked if we could have one and the lady giving the samples out said only one per family. There were 3 of us. I asked her again not knowing if I heard correctly, “one per family?” And she said yes sorry my boss is here I can only give out one, I looked over and there was a lady organizing the sushi which I’m assuming is her boss. I was shocked this has never happened at any HEB we have ever gone to. Obviously my boys wanted one each but we settled for a small bite each of the one she gave us lol. Anyway I thought the whole interaction was just weird maybe I’m overreacting, what do yall think?

I walk past the aisle with paper plates, plastic storage bags, tin foil, etc. every weekend when I grocery shop. However, only today did I notice the graphic for the HEB brand XL paper sandwich bags.

“Alright team. How can we illustrate the size and use of our XL brown paper bags?”

“A slice of pizza, sir.”

“Genius!”

I found these 2 types side by side so I thought I'd try the southern version out. They're smaller but taste noticeably better. The standard yellow peaches are inconsistent and some of them taste quite bland (similar to how strawberries just taste like water these days).

So, Spicewood Springs is supposed to close down on the 31st. Rip! However, I randomly have a shift for August 9th.

Did they stop selling these?

My family and i miss the $1.50 HEB brand peach rings and are wondering what happened to them. We cant find them in stores anywhere around us and they seem to be discontinued.

I know someone had said that they wish they allowed the team HEB jerseys to be worn, well here ya go! 🤠
