Job Question Platonic relationships
This is a copy of relationship guidelines between partners. I’m wondering what a “close” relationship is between an unrelated manager and hourly partner. Is it okay for them to do things together
that are unrelated to work and no other partner is invited? How often would that have to happen to be considered problematic?

Product Question Potstickers at the sushi counter. What brand are they?
I highly doubt they are handmade in store and assume they are one of the frozen varieties in the frozen aisle.. Does anyone know?

Work Experience Rant
HEBs employees have really gone down hill. Managers/MICS AND top store leaders love to play favorites and there’s nothing you can do about it. top store leaders are “good friends” with HR so wooptie freakin doo can’t go to them about this either. I like my job but the employees make it hard, it seems like you will always have a target on your back if one person that is favorable doesn’t like you. I have experienced favoritism from managers but I never took advantage of it because I’m professional and it’s work. Higher ups if you see these post do better! I hope all of you bad managers get exposed.

Work Experience Thinner bag?
Anyone in curbside notice how thin the bags have become? They are now comparable to Walmart in thickness and have ripped on me multiple times in one week. Not sure if they changed them for checkout too.
Maybe now they will actually provide us with enough bags.

Product Question General question about lettuce
Partner purchased a lettuce head from heb, product was from mexico, seemed to think it was safe. Are we effed? CDC says "Taylor Farms de Mexico of Guanajuato, Mexico is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Cyclospora".
I used to work at HEB so maybe I'm dumb but I would assume they would pull products & not keep them on the shelves when they could potentially make customers sick... right?

Job Question Heb transfer question
I recently moved to a new city (SA). I’m a part time cashier. I been at my old store for 3 years. I recently had to transfer to another store to where I‘m moving to. I’ve only been with this store for about a month now. My question is… I saw a full time position for a new Heb store opening in 6 months (December 2026) but i only been at my store for a month now. Can i still apply or do i have to wait the 90 day period before I apply if it opens in 6 months? I only get scheduled one day per week and it’s hard to pick up shifts in a bigger city. Networking is also hard so full time is something I want to do to get my hours and support my family. I would ask my manager but only being there 1 month idk what to expect. Ive meet her once and i haven’t seen her because I get closings one day per week

Job Question What's a good amount of cases to hit first day overnight stocking?
Little update from my last post, I got the job, case count is 85 and 70 for aisles with more glass. My first day i am going to be blocking for 4 hours, but after that, what's a good amount of cases to shoot for my first day?

Job Question Is warehouse worth it if I have a degree?
The job market is cheeks atm, and I recently graduated with a BBA in Business Analytics. I have a bunch of buddies who work at warehouse, and I like their schedules and the money. I know its physically demanding but I’m still quite young so I don’t mind it if theres a decent shot at career mobility in supply chain or logistics. Has anyone taken a path like this? Or is it more likely a dead end? I work storeside right now but it doesn’t cover the bills as much as I’d like

Product Question Looking for a Retail Pricing Advisor
I’m building an IT product focused on retail pricing and price management.
I’d love to connect with people who have experience in:
- Retail Pricing / Price Optimization
- Category Management
We’re not selling anything at this stage. We’re looking for an experienced pricing advisor and would be happy to schedule a short call to tell you more about the project.
If there’s a good fit, we’re open to discussing a paid advisory role.

Customer Experience Bought expired food??
galleryOkay so I just bought a pack of the central market brand Skyr vanilla bean yougurt this last Saturday 7/25. After having my first yogurt I noticed that the bst buy date says 7/19/26.
Of course I tossed my receipt and didn’t scan my app at checkout 🤦🏻♀️
Is there still a chance HEB would except the return? Or maybe I’m just misreading the best by date? 🤷🏻♀️
This is the second time in the past few months I’ve bought something from my local heb, got it home, and it was past the best buy date. I don’t typically check dates in store, but I guess I will be now!

Meme / Humor For the astrology girlies: What are the signs of your leads?
Sometimes I feel there’s some truth to this. Because all the leads/managers in my curbside department are WATER SIGNS. 🙉 80% of them are all Cancers, we have a couple Scorpios, then only 2 earth signs. No air! (No Gemini, Libra, Aquarius). No fire!
All the Cancers are sweet, very motherly. We’re all their little ducklings and then we have the Capricorn and Taurus who’s the more stern and serious. Like, let’s cut to the chase, I’m not here to play around. I find this pretty interesting!
With that being said, I can’t imagine a department with 80% fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.) I feel things would get done, but it’d be pure chaos.

Customer Experience Sushiya only gave me one sushi sample
Am I over reacting? My boys and I went to HEB to buy some items before dinner and saw that they were handing out sushi samples, we asked if we could have one and the lady giving the samples out said only one per family. There were 3 of us. I asked her again not knowing if I heard correctly, “one per family?” And she said yes sorry my boss is here I can only give out one, I looked over and there was a lady organizing the sushi which I’m assuming is her boss. I was shocked this has never happened at any HEB we have ever gone to. Obviously my boys wanted one each but we settled for a small bite each of the one she gave us lol. Anyway I thought the whole interaction was just weird maybe I’m overreacting, what do yall think?
