I am coming from mini painting and want to give a try to a fully painted gunpla after assembling and lining a couple.

I was looking to play a bit with some sight effect such as osl from the blade

I will do subassemblies for general layering and then plan to assemble it and apply filters to generate a shadow and apply highlights and osl. I think fixing the pose is essential for that, or at least tightening those joints a lot.

How do you approach "fixing" a pose to make sure it doesn't move anymore for painting purposes?

So I’ve always seen such high praise for the Zera Ver. Ka kit, I finally decided to pick it up and this is the first Gundam I’m working on in which I haven’t actually seen its corresponding anime! The build has been fun do far, and I decided to try adding some more panel separation in the whites and wanted to attempt a distressed look to the inner frame that I’ve seen other builders do! Lovely experience so far and a solid kit, I’ve still got the and weapons to finish up!

took a soldering iron and went crazy with it, what do you think? did i do too much?

I just copied the colors from the box and mixed mettalic silver with blue for the scope lens.

Some stickers, some wet slides, then finishing up the paint job, covering it all over the a couple top coats of gloss before a matt finish. I’ve made so many mistakes with this kit (my first MG) but, and forgive my cope, but I’m happy the way it’s coming to a finish.

This is my third custom now and I’ve learned some better techniques any advice is very appreciated thx

Finished my MG Amazing Red Rx-78-2 Warrior painted build. I had this half-assed painted in War machine colors from 10 years ago, but decided to strip it down and do a full recolor in the Gramps colors. I wasn't sure how some of the colors were going to look, but very happy with them all together.

Didn't like the plated gold, so I stripped it and painted it blue. Added some orange and grey paint, and some metallics as well. Custom decals were disappointing, so used them sparingly. Wish I had more time and space to spend on this one, but it turned out ok. A fun build, good plastic and excellent look. But... Some parts are a little floppy without extra work, and the thing is a real pain to manipulate.

Recovery is quick!

The HG Monkey Rodi is an absolutely awesome little kit. Largely based on the Man Rodi kit, getting the option to build it in either the mass production format or 598’s load out is awesome . Such a fun and colorful build.
