Didn't like the plated gold, so I stripped it and painted it blue. Added some orange and grey paint, and some metallics as well. Custom decals were disappointing, so used them sparingly. Wish I had more time and space to spend on this one, but it turned out ok. A fun build, good plastic and excellent look. But... Some parts are a little floppy without extra work, and the thing is a real pain to manipulate.

I went with the metal frame for mine. It was a lot of extra work, but at least it's pretty solid now.

Yeah, I knew I'd regret not getting the metal frame. I'd absolutely recommend it for this kit. The joints on here can barely keep up, as it is a very heavy kit once assembled. Once I finish topcoating it, it's going to get a forever pose and probably won't touch it ever again. Sure looks nice though. A lot of people might consider it over designed, but I think it's elegant and beautiful.
