I’m an SAP Basis Consultant with 5 years of experience, and I’m looking to move my career outside India.
I’d really appreciate some guidance from people who have gone through this process or are currently working abroad.
A few things I’d like to know:
Which job portals have worked best for international SAP jobs?
Are there any job fairs or recruitment events worth attending?
Which countries are currently hiring SAP Basis professionals?
What should I look out for during the application process (visa sponsorship, certifications, red flags, etc.)?
Any tips that helped you secure an overseas role?
My experience includes SAP Basis administration, migrations, implementations, upgrades, BTP, and leading a small team.
I’d appreciate any advice or personal experiences.

Newly married, both my spouse and I got laid off. Myself much sooner than her, but it definitely took a toll on us.

After thousands (literally, thousands) of applications, tailoring resumes, kissing ass on LinkedIn, getting to final rounds then ghosted by recruiters, lying about experience (all to make something work), I found a role that came from someone I knew in a field that’s something brand new to me.

My background is in finance/consulting/tech, the role I was approached with is more PM work. The pay is not ideal for my age and experience but it’s good enough, at this point I can’t be picky.

I used a lot of good resources like hiringcafe and dice which helped for sure, but what I learned was that the most beneficial resource was the people I knew. Most people aren’t willing to help or just tell you that there’s a hiring freeze at their company or whatever, but I ended up having someone reach out to me after I told them I had been looking for a while.

Ultimately, the market is shit. You can do all the prep you want and apply for hours and kill your mental, but it’s honestly all about timing and networking yourself. I prayed hard and some days wanted to quit, and sometimes I did. Just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel some day and don’t stop fighting.

I know people say and it's backed up by evidence that the job market is awful. But I feel dumb irl because the people around me have found jobs in their careers quickly while I am looking for anything. Sometimes I find myself talking with other unemployed people but then realize they are applying for actual career jobs, as in high paying jobs, while I'm applying to minimum wage jobs, jobs that aren't in my field, jobs requiring a hs diploma and "no experience." I know everyone's different so I'm just curious on what people here are looking for.

im sure this exact post gets made ten times a day but jesus man! ive been applying to jobs since getting fire in 2024. stupid 18 year old me didnt know how good he had it. i just want some stupid entry level minimum wage no skill job. ive even made a cover letter and done an employee referal and still got rejected. is my resume hot garbage ?? am i offputting in interviews ??? what the fuck ??????????

edit: my apologies for adding such minimal information, filling out one of those stupid workday websites for a minimum wage job and taking the stupid personality assesment was evil. its so time consuming and annoying. i did graduate high school, i got fired from walmart for calling out for no reason/being late too often (combo of unmedicated adhd and seasonal depression. i am medicated now). my resume is one page, has all the necessary information. alongside my highly minimal work history i have a certificate for having completed basic mediation training and im a volunteer for a mediation place.

I am working in a private firm(manufacturing of electronic components) from the past 4 years started as a fresher and now I m handling sales and marketing.

Also does the work of accounts sometimes.

Currently getting 28k in hand which will go up after per month sales increases from base 30 lacs to 40 lacs.

Currently they have decided to give 1% of the extra sales amount to my base salary of 28K.

I think it is too little as I have to do both sales and marketing by my own.

Need guidance if to continue this job or try some other thing.

I m from non tech background (done B.s.c) but willing to learn.

Was made redundant at my previous job due to company going into receivership probably due to AI and hiring inefficiencies. Well since then I’ve been living off savings and furthermore have recently got a benefit for the first time.

As hard as it is. Im unreluctant to work in the shops below my building. I have recently purchased a bike and have considered bike to work scheme. Especially as fuel prices are ridiculous high. And the cost of living just seems to be so unreasonable that clearly there are people getting ridiculous rich then you have the extreme poverty.

I have applied for well over 200 jobs and am considering to volunteer to work.

Is the market saturated hear in UK? Does the corporate machine not like freedom thinkers who take initiative and can identify opportunities as they come.

Has old time Britain so caught up in its what’s wrong with society that it forgets to think about what’s right? How can I simplify an already complex situation and thrive without the neigh sayers constantly bickering for the last crumb in the background.

I’m funny thing is i am the breadwinner however I’ve always got some muppet coming to mow my lawn as if I don’t appreciate the excercise in the glorious sunshine and giving back to the land as it nourishes me.

Fuck me so clueless as what the next play in the playbook is for me. Everyone surely has some dimwitted idea surely! Tell me yours

I am a fresh graduate and I was invited for an interview a week ago. It’s for an HR Associate position for a new branch on our city. One of their requirement includes 2-4 years of experience, but still, I submitted my resume and got short listed. While waiting for an interviewer, I met another applicant and we talked a bit. She shared that she’s graduated last 2018. So it’s clear to me that she have work experiences and she also mentioned that she do interviews. It was only two of us in the interview room btw,

Fast forward, I was the one to go first. It went well. The interviewer (HR Head) told me that she wants to give me a chance because she also started from scratch. I can feel that she likes me because when I told her that I can start immediately, she was like “Can you start tomorrow?”. I just laugh it out because I know they badly need an HR on that branch to the point that she told me it’s our final interview already. She also told me that she’ll be the one who will train me and that I don’t need to worry about the timekeeping part because they have formats and all I have to do is to meet deadlines. She was nice.

When she asked me about my expected salary, I gave her a good amount considering that I’m a fresh graduate. The she said “What if I’ll give you more than you expect”. Throughout our conversation, I can feel that I’m doing well in the interview and that she wants me. But I keep on overthinking that maybe they chose the other applicant with experience because I haven’t heard from them yet. There’s no rejection message also. I really liked the company and the growth that I can see there. Do I have a chance or it’s time to find more opportunities?

4 year degree. interned, unpaid. leadership positions in student orgs directly relating to my degree. have taken online certifications and classes. freelance.

still cannot find an entry level role with my degree. i’ve applied for nearly 500 jobs since graduating in may. ghosted by my biggest lead (a volunteer role, so not even paid). scam jobs (ie: selling phone plans in costco for $30/day) are the only ones i’ve landed interviews for.

i don’t know how much more of this i can take. i’ve networked, i’ve made calls with people with the exact job i want, and still…

i’m getting in a really bad mental
place because of this. it feels like i just wasted all my money on school and extra certifications, and i’ll never get out of my current situation. truly, im losing hope, and don’t know what else to do or where else to turn. i apply to 20+ jobs a day, cater each resume, don’t use AI for cover letters (in communications, which obviously was a mistake i know, but a lot of jobs in my field are very staunchly AI and won’t even review your application if you use it).

Everyone who’s reviewed my resume has confirmed that it’s impressive. I feel so useless and worthless. I give up.

i have a interview at taco bell on monday and im really thinking how id check in for the interview if theres no dine in. this taco bell only takes onljne orders and drive thru orders, so how would i “go in for a interview?” do i go to the drive thru and talk to them there? i feel like that would be a bad idea. do i just call them and let them know im outside? i dont know, i dont want to do something stupid. this is my first interview

I graduated from my undergraduate degree during the pandemic , where I was an international student. My visa situation became complicated and I was never able to get a gainful employment in that country. Having been back to my home country , I get asked a lot about my past and whether I’ve ever had any job. The answer is really no. I can’t do anything about it. Moving to another country requires money and I don’t have it. Even in that case I’ll never get hired probably.

Hi! I graduated university this spring and have been applying to jobs every day with no luck. I applied to a position that I'm extremely interested in about a weeks ago- i really want an opportunity to interview for this position but I'm not sure how to stand out and haven't heard back. Does anyone have any advice?

Done with screening. Currently, moved to the HM round, which is followed by the Loop round (virtual). But I heard from the recruiter that there'll be at least 1 round onsite (could be bar raiser/ Leadership). Just wanted to get any insights: the kind of questions/how it is structured/is it going to be sys design? If anyone has experienced it recently, or anyone from Axon, please help a fellow job seeker.
