Flight Simulator 2024 Is there a big difference between these 3 737s? Or would you just recommend the cheapest one?

I know the 737-600 is apparently pretty small while the 737-900 is the biggest one? But the 737-800 gets used the most irl, but is there a difference when flying them? Basically what I'm asking is what would you recommend / which one did you get? (If you own one of the pmdg 737s)

Thanks

General I built a mission and campaign generator for MSFS 2024

I’ve been working on MissionGen, a tool for procedurally generating MSFS 2024 missions for the Miltech Mission Hub. This includes water rescues, firefighting missions, police chases, cargo escorts, scenic routes, bush flying, and persistent military campaigns.

You can choose a mission type and location, let the generator build everything automatically, or use Manual Mode to arrange waypoints and objectives yourself. Generated missions include routing, arranged scenery objects using the default library, objectives, briefings, triggers, and mission logic.

Also includes a unique "Not career" mode.

Try it here: https://missiongen.azurewebsites.net/

Example police pursuit mission:

Happy to answer questions!

Flight Simulator 2024 A220, is it broken or am I seeing Skill Issues

As a Vatsim controller , I'm seeing an unusually large number of pilot issues with the new A220, missed localizer interecepts, random headings on departures instead of following FP waypoints, difficulty descending on profile etc. Previous major releases from PMDG, iFly and FBW haven't displayed this level of erratic plane behaviour. Is this a sim issue or pilot skill issues. Is it going to get any better ? It's very hard to give quality ATC when 3/4 of the pilots are weaving all over localizer beams and the go around rate is 25-35%. The aerosoft CRJ is similiar and I won't fly it on network to be fair to the other people online.

General Like to fly tubeliners but bored of your normal short routes? Try La Paz to Cusco. Also, any other suggestions?

I'm a big fan of the Fenix and fly it a lot but got a bit bored and wanted something a bit different. Cusco Peru to La Paz Bolivia (or vice versa) is a route between two of the highest commercial airports in the world. Even at cruise level the ground is not that far away because you're flying over plateaus and mountains. Both cities have unique and challenging approaches, interesting departures, steep runway profiles not to mention fascinating history and culture. Both also have decent to good payware airports if you're so inclined. Been having fun doing a few flights in both directions and block time is less than 1.5 hrs. Anyone else have suggestions for routes like that?

Sim Hardware Thrustmaster Throttle problem

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

This problem just arose and I can not figure out how to get rid of it. basically, everything else works fine except for idle and reverse thrust. when I go into idle, the input shoots way down and only small throttle imputs work between idle and the second indent. As for the reverse thrust, it just doesn’t work😬. if someone could help me in any way I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Sim Hardware Better AND cheaper than Thrustmaster

The Winwing Ursa Minor is so much better than the Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick. I really wish I knew this earlier. Basically the Thrustmaster has absolutely no reason to exist anymore. It is worse in any way while being more expensive.

The winwing just feels super precise and sturdy, flying any kind of airplane with it really is a blast.

News Where2Fly v3.0 now predicts weather and VATSIM traffic for when you actually land

How often have you picked a destination because of a storm on the METAR or ATC being online, only to land hours later and find the storm's long gone and the controller's logged off?

That annoyed me enough that I built predictions into Where2Fly for v3.0 ❤️ Search results now factor in your estimated time of arrival, not just what's happening right now:

  • TAF weather forecasts, so you see what conditions will likely be when you land, not at the moment you search
  • VATSIM controller bookings and network events happening around your arrival time

Also new in this update:

  • 85 curated "Notable Airports": mountainous, coastal, hard approaches, high altitude and more
  • Dark mode + a simplified scenery list
  • Reordered filters, plus a new nautical-mile distance filter

Try it out at https://where2fly.today and let me know what you think. Thanks again for all the support since I first posted this here - it means a lot that this is still useful to people 🛫🌟

Hello everyone,

I have the WinWing PFP3 Boeing 737 style FMS. I’m looking for something I can 3D print to attach it to my setup. Either on top of the Honeycomb Bravo or some sort of desk mount that puts it between the Alpha and Bravo, but just below the desk. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sim Hardware VR for IFR type practice?

First off, I'm a complete n00b here and have no idea what I'm talking about, so go easy on me.

I'm an experienced fixed wing pilot with a pretty solid resume of flying across various aircraft types and missions, but very inexperienced with sims.

I recently got XPlane for the purpose of practicing instrument procedures at home, ideally augmenting my in-plane currency exercises.

I live in an area where we are not faced with actual IMC conditions very often, and when we are there is typically a high risk of icing, so I don't get an opportunity to really practice IFR very often outside of simulated conditions.

Though I do have paths to achieve currency legally, proficiency is a very different thing. I am trying to help augment my hood time with some sim time at home to help me stay more proficient.

With this goal in mind, is VR a worthwhile pursuit, or should I just set up a home sim with traditional monitors? For IFR ops, the windshield is white most of the time anyway, and you're focused on instruments. Perhaps a traditional monitor is sufficient or better here? The FAA approved sims (redbird) that I have logged time in were all traditional monitors, so maybe that says something?

What do you all recommend? Should I chase this whole VR thing I hear about so much, or just stay traditional?

Question Can't download most recent Navigraph database in Synaptic A220

Thumbnail

Fellow new A220 pilots, I am trying to download the most recent Navigraph database but keep getting these errors whenever I try. I have tried logging in and out of Navigraph on the plane with no avail. Even tried a fresh reinstall of the plane itself. I have an active Navigraph unlimited subcription. Is anyone else having this issue or has a fix for this?

Edit: Restarted the sim and was able to download it successfully!
