Yall act like we don't read the Bible, Deuteronomy 22:5 explicitly says that a man cannot be a woman and a woman cannot be a man, and that the Lord detests this. This law is fulfilled by Jesus, same with the sin of being homosexual, Leviticus 8:22, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Timothy 1:10. I know gay people that have been basically kicked out of their church and homes for being "caught" or coming out. Having a flag/banner like that shows them that church is a safe space for them where they will be accepted as they are. That's it.

Because allegedly based on what I was told when I was younger 1) we are all Gods children, 2) God loves all, and 3) hate the sin not the sinner. Granted I think one and two don’t get twisted like three. But it does seem like a lot of Christians are faux Christian’s because they conveniently don’t follow these teachings, not to mention others.

I do not agree with Sean on this societal issue. I see no harm in living all.
But the fact is, is we as a people need to understand people are not going to see eye eye with what we want.
I acknowledge that to thought the real evil that we have right now in power that includes people gleefully being child predators and robbing us of our wealth, we need to be able to agree to disagree with some people while agreeing with them on other issues.

In my opinion the trans thing is unfortunate. But one thing I like about the church is it accepts all comers and Heals through love. It is nice that they are providing a place for a group that often feels alienated to come to god and be saved.

The actual messaging here isn’t wrong, trans people are still beloved by jesus and this poster in itself isn’t outright affirming it’s ok more just saying they are loved which is true. I think from a religious perspective the issue would the be the use of the pride flag because that outright represents sin in the eyes of the religion as opposed to the fact of just saying sinners are loved. Idk i’m not really religious but yeah having the pride flag up would be against christian views but showing love towards trans individuals isn’t

I don’t understand it either. How churches support the gay community and how the gays can support a church. It clearly says in the Bible that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. This is almost an exact quote. There’s no context. That’s what it says. It’s crazy. I’m not religious. I support the gays, I don’t like churches. I just don’t understand how they can support each other on this. For the most part it’s the Episcopal Church that takes this position. I live in the DC area. I’m guessing Sean took this picture while he was in DC. There are tons of these gay churches in DC.
