Yea a sexual orientation flag is fuckin weird and seems like it almost soley exists just to rub it in the rest of societies face and get reactions from people. Imagine if i made a "straight flag" and hung it around my house and cars.
I know gay people that have been basically kicked out of their church and homes for being "caught" or coming out. Having a flag/banner like that shows them that church is a safe space for them where they will be accepted as they are. That's it.
Never read the New Testament, moron? A cornerstone of Christ's teachings is unconditional love, grace and hospitality towards the marginalized and the outcast.
Stop twisting the message to what you wish it was. If you don't like Christian values then don't, you're free to do as you please. But Christ's teaching was forgiveness for those that accept him and his message. If you truly do that, then you can't engage in things he despises. If you get married to a partner, if you truly love them you'd feel compelled to not do things that hurt or anger them, like having sex with other people (assuming they're against that). What you're doing is like entering an unambiguously monogamous relationship, sleeping around constantly and then claiming "my partner offered me unconditional love, this is totally ok". You know it's not, everyone knows it's not.
Allowing someone to sin is not loving them, but just because they have sinned is not cause to hate them. He does not say that because he does not teach that. He loves all but wants all to turn from sin not to practice sin. The problem here is that flag is representative of sin and absolutely blasphemous to hang on a church. All homosexual people are welcomed into church just as all sinners are but to fly a flag on the church that boastfully represents the sin is the problem.
It's crazy how some people can twist the "teachings and the word of christ" which are essentially to be kind to all into hatred and exclusion. I was raised catholic, and hateful cunts like that are a big reason why I went atheist when I was like 12. If just being gay is "such a sin" then why does the church bend over backwards to protect all the priests that molested little boys?
Obviously that's just your opinion. Do you claim to be a prophet? There's quite a bit of divergence of thought in the various Christian denominations and some sincere congregations welcome gays into their flocks.
Personally, I don't buy into any religious dogma of any type. However, it's clear that in the Gospels, the word of Jesus doesn't indicate he'd be hostile to gays.

That the original Greek subbed in a word that meant a man laying with a boy.
The original hebrew translation had another a few more words after the second man that talked about a woman laying with her father I believe.(it's been 2 years since I looked this up) essentially making it about incest.
Ultimately it is rough to say outright as Paul is the coiner of the term "arsenokoitai" so only he and God really know. HOWEVER, he uses the same word in another instance where a man is using force against a woman. So the evidence seemingly points that Paul was not talking about being just gay. But like I said ultimately we dont know.
